A different kind of experience

We loved this house specially due to its castle like look and unique architectural elegance. House and garden are spacious and are well suited for adventure seekers. Owners had provided many costumes and and game/sports equipments for our pleasure. The manager of the property is very professional and handled an issue related the security deposit in the best professional manner. Thank you for this wonderful piece of property.

Fun, fun, fun castle adventure for our whole family!

My group of 13 - ages 8 to 61 - really enjoyed our time at the castle. From grandparents to parents to kids, our group had fun with the decorations, games, and the whole ambience. The kids especially loved their rooms - the girls in the princess room and the boys in the hidden room.

Great family get away

My family (12 adults) spent Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at the "castle". We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Everyone was able to have their own bedroom. There was a dining table large enough to seat us all together. The kitchen had everything we needed to make our large meals too. The downstairs was ideal for opening our gifts. We all enjoyed looking at all of the decorations and beautiful bedrooms with costumes. We have spent Christmas at rentals homes for quite a few years now, but we all agreed this one was the most unusual and the most comfortable. We plan to come back, during the summer, so we can enjoy the beautiful grounds as well.

Amazing

Just home from a Girls getaway. We so enjoyed our long weekend at the castle. Plenty of room for everyone. We even dressed up in the gowns. Wished I was small enough to stay in the princess suite. A little girl's dream come true. Don't forget to take a ride up to Hurricane Ridge. Had a great lunch at El Cazador Mexican Restaurant. I would certainly recommend staying here. You'll love it!

Owner response:Dee, we are so glad you enjoyed your stay. Oh, and yes El Cazador is yummy, especially the sopapillas!

Great family reunion

We had a wonderful week at Woodhaven Castle-all 21 of us! A well-supplied kitchen was certainly a plus when dealing with that many people. We usually have trouble finding places that are flexible with large numbers of guests who often can't commit until the last moment, so we were very pleased with how the managers handled our changing numbers. We had several great trips to the Olympic National Park, Dungeness Spit and area towns. We enjoyed the fresh air and abundance of stars-as well as the dress-up opportunities and ping pong tournaments.

Owner response:We love to have families stay at the castle, that is what it was built for originally - a home for a large family. Thanks!

Our group of college girlfriends stayed at Woodhaven this year for our annual get-together. Given the size of our group, we often have trouble finding a place that can accommodate all of us middle-aged ladies while offering comfortable spaces where we can cook, eat and relax together throughout a long weekend. The castle was the perfect solution. Jane paid careful attention to every detail as she prepared the property for our arrival. What a gracious hostess, and what a fun place to get away from it all. The house is private, Sequim is a quick few minutes away and Port Townsend is an easy drive. The costumes are just an added bonus!

Grama Jane, Thank you for providing a beautiful place for old friend to gather and reminisce,. We appreciate the large comfortable great-rooms. The lovely themed bedrooms, and the well stocked kitchen. And the costumes! The ability to find sizes to fit all 16 of us and share in the hilarity of a group picture was the highlight of the weekend. God Bless, Deborah (and Julie, Catherine, Maria, Julie, Ester, Mary, Rachel, Christie, Carla Erin, Lynn, Schema, Ki, Katheryn and Teri)

The Castle is HIGHLY recommended. Owner Jane Wadsworth goes out of her way to make it not just a rental, but a comfortable family home. Everything you could possibly need is there. 16 of the Persons Clan (from Grandpa down to the babies) spent two wonderful days at Woodhaven. It was an inspired "find" providing us with an opportunity to strengthen family bonds and enjoy much needed silly fun. We dressed up in costumes, took lots of photos, tried out the rope swing, watched the backyard deer, and were thrilled that there were enough comfy beds for everyone!! Time to go home came too soon, we hadn't finished exploring all the treasures of the castle. After only two days I feel connected to Woodhaven, and would love for our family to return someday. For those considering a Woodhaven retreat: Try It, You'll Like It!!

WOW, WOW, WOW ! ! ! We had a WONDERFUL weekend at the castle Nov. 20 -23 with 13 damsels scrapbooking and crafting the days and nights away. It was so much fun trying on all the costumes and posing for pictures. The Great Hall was perfect for all of us to spread out our "stuff" and work. This place is really special and would work well for scrapbookers, small leadership retreats, quilters or any semi-small group that needs room to work and play. Delightful hostesses and delicious pumpkin bread ! ! !

Owner response:These guests were great! They even gave us several brand NEW Juliet Costumes in size 2X! I can't wait to see the pictues they said they would send me! FUN!!

My husband and I stayed here in the master bedroom for a honeymoon getaway! We loved the privacy, the walls are all so well insulated and the doors are all solid core. The secluded mountain setting is so nourishing for the soul. The home has a peaceful and happy feel to it! The spaciousness allows for extraordinary family gatherings, with plenty of space for many different activities in locations around the house. We've also attended wedding receptions and parties here. The home's floor plan is so perfect for staying upstairs and hosting a large gathering downstairs. We had a blast dancing out on the large back porch area! The reception was held indoors with the dancing outside. I would definitely love to stay here again and would absolutely recommend the owner's integrity and hospitality! Plus, the weather in Sequim is reportedly the mildest and sunniest in Western Washington. All in all, staying here was totally enjoyable! Most sincerely, Carol Christensen

Owner response:Carol is my sister- the mother of Tammy. We are so new to renting our castle home, that they wanted to let others know about it. We have just now, before Thanksgiving 2009 had our first paying guests, and hope to have them give us a review soon. Thanks for reading! Gramajane

Owner response:Tammy - our married niece may be slightly biased-- her family have visited since she was a child, and now she comes with her handsome husband! :)
