Relax in our outdoor hot tub overlooking the lake or sit by the fire place inside the cozy cottage..Walk on meandering blue stone pathway to our charming, lake cottage.The cottage overlooks the lake. Surrounded by pine and oak trees, perennials and native trees on our four acre property with 160 feet of private lake front,enjoy your evenings on the screened in porch having dinner overlooking the lake.
The cottage has an open kitchen, dining, and sitting area with large pine beams and vaulted ceilings and beautiful views of the lake and woods. The kitchen is fully equipped.With dishwasher, small refrigerator -freezer, flour, sugar, coffee, pancake mix, salt pepper, cooking oils, plate-ware, silverware, pots and pans, paper towels,. Claw foot tub with shower,hair dryer and ironing board. We provide plenty of quality towels for the lake. All of our beds have thick down comforters, (in the winter) or quilts with all quality linens.
This lake front cottage is very inviting and sleeps up to 4 people.It is ideal for 1 or 2 couples. Enjoy a warm fire(in the winter). Relax in the outdoor hot tub overlooking the lake..There is a large screened porch overlooking the lake,and a cozy window seat facing the lake. The window seat can also be used as a twin bed for one.Stairs lead up to a private loft bedroom with a large window overlooking a nearby old, red barn and the cottage garden. It has 2 twin beds that can be made into a king size bed. The bedroom on the main level has a full-size antique bed and a sliding French door that goes out to the porch overlooking the lake. There is also a private patio with BBQ, and a great garden with fresh herbs flowers and vegetables for your use.
Enjoy the private lake front just steps down from the cottage with a 60-foot private cedar deck,a large lower deck with lounge chairs and a floating dock with 2 kayaks and a canoe await you. There are lounge chairs, table and chairs, picnic table, porch swing and hammock to enjoy. Take a dip or swing from the rope swing into the sparkling clean spring-fed lake,then enjoy a paddle in the canoe or kayak. You may see painted turtles basking in the sun on fallen logs. Canadian geese or a pair of swans may swim by. If you wake up early, don't be surprised if you see wild turkey, fox,red-tailed hawks or raccoons strolling through the property.
Nearby are beautiful historical estates along the Hudson River.Take a river cruise. The charming villages of Rhinebeck, Tivoli,and Red Hook are only 10-20 minutes away and offer many choices for restaurants and shopping. The Fisher Center at Bard College is only a 15 minute drive. Our lake front cottage is a wonderful way to enjoy your weekend or several weeks!

Why the Owner Chose Red Hook
The location of our lake cottage is ideal for a getaway from the stress and fast pase of the city. We love the privacy and tranquility of our property. Our favorite is all of the wild life we see either deer, turkey or geese daily. Just being on the water kayaking, fishing or swimming is so relaxing and peaceful.
Great U-pick farm throughout the summer. Gigi market is a good bike ride from the cottage for a great gourmet skizza pizza and salad.

My husband and I moved to the New York Hudson Valley area in 2000 from the west coast.I am a flight attendant and work the international flights out of JFK. My husband worked in hotel management on the west coast for 20 yrs. We had only planned on staying here for a couple of years but fell in love with the area and community and decided to stay. We build a nice vacation rental on our lake property to give my husband a project. It has turned out to be a favorite spot for many guests that frequent our lake cottage.
