The apartment is lovely. It is large, spotlessly clean and has air conditioning in the bedroom which was much needed on those hot summer days. The weather was about 30 degrees Celsius each day that we were there and the locals all told us that that was COOL by French Riveria standards. The location of the apartment is great - just down the street from the train station. That is a nice perk if you intend to take some day trips around the area. My husband and I went to Monaco one day and it was a cinch to get there via the train. The apartment was also a short walk (10 minutes?) to the Pieton which is a fun strip where there are shops and restaurants. The Promenade Anglais is maybe a 15 minute walk from the apartment. I highly recommend a trip to the Cours Saleya (vegetable and flower market) and old Nice which are maybe 15 - 20 minutes away. My husband and I figured that we walked about 10 kms per day and yet I still gained 5 lbs! The kitchen is fully kitted out - can't think of anything else that would be needed. My husband and I had aspirations of making dinners periodically while we were there to save some $$$ but it never happened. There are some great restaurants in Nice at a variety of price points. We went to the Bistrot du Fromager one night which I highly recommend. It is in a former wine cave that is about 400 years old and every course has some cheese in it. The wait staff are very knowledgeable about both wine and cheese and it was a lovely meal. We also went to the Maison du Marie one night which was just great. Highly recommend it and it is on the main Pieton. There is also a Monoprix nearby where you can get everything you would need if you intend to make some of your meals in house. I took a Nicois cooking course from Petit Farcis one day that I highly recommend. She takes tourists through the Cours Saleya market and explains Nicois history, food production and cooking in remarkable detail. Then we went back to her 400 year old apartment for a cooking lesson and a four course lunch. Just a wonderful day - it was certainly a high point of my trip. Marillia (Property Manager) and Declan (Owner) are lovely and very helpful. All in all, it was a great place and did not disappoint. Bon voyage!
Owner response:Thank you for your comprehensive review. It was a pleasure have you stay. We must check out the Nicois cooking course ourselves when we visit.

We stayed in this excellent apartment for six days, and were very pleasantly surprised that everything as decribed about this apartment .turned out to be true. A really convienent location,to restaurants and supermarkets..... perhaps just a little noisy in the middle of the night with garbage collections in the street. But an apartment with all the home comforts and equipment, including beach mats and umbrellas. We would stay here again and certainly recomend it. Marilia met us on arrival and gave us all the tips. Thanks Declan and Helen. Maurice and Cynthia . Bathurst. NSW. Australia.

This was our second stay in this immaculate apartment. The terrace is so enjoyable for eating outdoors, breakfast, lunch, dinner or anytime. It is a short walk to the train station which made it so convenient to take many day trips to other towns like Villefranche sur Mer, Antibes, Cap Ferrat St. Jean, Marseilles, etc. Within walking distance to tram to Vieux Nice or walkable without tram. Kitchen is equipped with all the means to fix a gourmet dinner. Beach towels, umbrellas, and beach mats supplied made visits to the beaches so comfortable. Washing machine helped during our two week stay and enabled us to bring fewer clothes and buy more souvenirs!!!
Owner response:Thank you TomandAbbey, we were very pleased to have you again this year. Declan and Helen

We spent an enjoyable ten days in this apartment at the end of February '12. It is very comfortable, clean and well equipped. Its location is excellent being close to local shops, the tram on Ave Jean Medecain and the rail station. The manageress was welcoming and very patient and helpful. We are happy to give it our full endorsement.

We had the pleasure of staying at this property for a week in October and it was perfect for our needs. The apartment was well located giving us easy access to all the sites and transportation. The unit was roomy, very clean, nicely furnished with all the usual amenities. The owners were great to dal with and the whole experience was first class and at a very reasonable price. We would certainly recommend this unit to our family and friends and are in fact planning a return visit in the near future.

This was a lovely apartment but the noise from the street below continued long into the night. Having never been to Nice before this could just be the nature of the town. But the apartment was very comfortable and well equipped. And the location was great for getting around the area. Marilia, the manager, was wonderful!! She was so helpful when we checked in and made sure everything was working as it should be!
Owner response:There is always some traffic noise with city centre apartments in Nice as in other cities. It can be worse in other parts of Nice such as the old town and areas with bars and discos close by. Our street is relatively quiet with no bars or late night cafes close by but the young Nicois do use "scooters" to get around. We are happy to know you enjoyed your stay, found the apartment and its location met your needs. As always, Marilia our manager gets lots of praise. Declan and Helen

Declan, Our nine night stay in your apartment in March was all we could wish for. Its a wonderful place to start and end a day in Nice. Thoughtful touches abound in the apartment. A quality bed and comfortable balcony are such a bonus. Location!!!---walker friendly, yet with bus, tram, and train just blocks away (we mostly walked and took the tram in Nice, train to Antibes, and bus to La Turbie and Biot). Thoughtful, conscientious, responsive owners (Declan and Helen) and agent (Marilla). Already raved to family and friends. Hope to return someday. With our great big THANKS!! mike and nancy c

We chose the apartment primarily for its location and convenience to everything in Nice and the surrounding area. We certainly made a great choice! The unit is certainly more than one would wish for. Well equipped, well maintained and certainly well worth the money! My Wife was born and raised in Nice and she made the choice. Right again!!

This is an excellent base for exploring Nice and beyond. The apartment, located in a safe, clean, and central building, is in tip-top condition. As is often pointed out, the train station is close, but so is the center. The coast is even easier to reach. As promised by the gracious owner, Declan, the bed is firm enough for those travelers who suffer from bad backs. Working with both Declan and his representative in Nice was a breeze. All in all - a highly recommended place!

Recently spent a week in this apartment and will definitely return. Excellent location and property is equipped with wireless internet, flat screen TV, a wide range of books etc which meant that we were kept fully entertained during our stay. Also took full advantage of the terrace, loved sitting out in the evenings after with a bottle of wine (or two!) and relaxing after each day's activities. Owners were helpful and made every effort to ensure we had an enjoyable stay, providing us with tourist information, maps and local restaurant recommendations - many thanks!

We are a mature couple. This apartment suited us very well, being 5 min walk (slightly downhill) from the train station which has a regular shuttle service to and from airport, and also connects with towns along the coast. Apartment (in a well maintained building) is a lovely clean airy apartment with a balcony. We loved the extras in the apartment - books (fiction and non fiction), plenty of local info and suggestions, the welcome pack (tea, coffee, biscuits..) Bakery, small supermarket, nice restaurants nearby. Lots to see in and around Nice, we are planning our next trip and will definitely stay in this apartment. Owner Declan very helpful.

Stayed in apartment in June - great location for touring Nice with beach, markets, shopping and lovely restaurants within walking distance. Main train station also just a few mins walk so very convenient for arriving and departure. Also went to Monaco (Gran Prix on) and to Cannes (film festival on) by train - so easy to visit different towns. Not enough time to see all we wanted so will definitely go back to Nice. Will book this apartment due to location, lovely apartment and also helpful advice freely given by Declan. Would recommend.

September 13 2009. Ronnie and Irene. Nairn, Scotland. Would have no hesitation on recommending this apartment. The description of the apartment and area are very accurate. We were met at the apartment by Declan and Helen who took time to explain how everything worked and about the area. We had a comfortable stay in the apartment which was well equiped with everything you need including extras like the welcome pack, books, games etc. We hired a car for travelling further afield than Nice but used the trams, bus and the train all of which are within a few minutes of the apartment to get around NIce. Plenty of good restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Apartment is great value for money. When booking the apartment nothing was too much trouble for Declan, he answered any questions we had promptly.

July 22 2009 "xzqwert". Leicestershire, UK. The owner provided excellent customer service promptly replying to all enquiries. This apartment is easily accessed from the airport using the local bus service to the train station, it is then just a short walk along Ave Auber. The property is well maintained, comfortable and is equipped for all your self catering needs. The agent was welcoming and was available anytime if needed. This is a perfect base for exploring the Cote D'zur by train. The tourist road train in Monaco was particularly good value. Would definitely recommend this apartment

February 23 2009 Mum and Daughter, Dublin Ireland. Stayed here during Carnival week. The location was a perfect base, for Nice itself- we were a stone's throw from everywhere, and the whole Cote D'Azur. We even got to go skiing one day ! Amazing. The apartment had everything you could think of, sooooo comfortable and clean, was like home from home, would def go back. Liked that I didn't have to go buying salt/sugar etc either, that was even there in Welcome Basket provided by owner! Even rubber gloves in the kitchen for those of us particular about our hands! Great apartment, great location. Owner was very helpful when I was making my booking.

M & M. Galway, Ireland. We stayed in this apartment in July 2009 and had a very enjoyable holiday. It is only a 5 min. walk from the train station and the shuttle bus to Nice airport which makes it very easy to travel along the Cote d'Azur. It is a bright and spacious apartment with a very homely feel. There is a very good selection of books and local information guides which we found very useful. The large balcony is ideal for outside dining morning and evening. The local shop 'Cocci market' is very convenient and offers good value and excellent service. The beach is within walking distance as are the main shopping areas and restaurants. The apartment is also near the new tram line which is very good value at €3 per day! The owner Declan provided excellent customer service and was very professional in dealing with all of our correspondence. Marilia who met us on arrival was most helpful and friendly. We would highly recommend this apartment for any visit to Nice or as a base for exploring the Cote d'Azur.
