Separate living room with couch and two chairs to read and enjoy great lake views. Separate dining room with seating for six. Outdoor patio with gas grill, fire pit and additional table and seating for 8. All linens provided. Just bring your own beach towels.
We have dock space for your boat provided by the Pokagon Heights Property Owners Association. This provides access for fishing, swimming and docking your boat. Public boat launch, public pier/beach, golf, restaurants, wineries and sight seeing nearby.
If looking for a change of pace, St. Joseph and South Haven are minutes away(both provide sandy beaches on Lake Michigan), and is about two hours from Chicago. Close to public golf courses, restaurants, shopping, fishing, fruit picking, farmers markets, winery tours, festivals, sandy beaches and much more.
St. Joseph is a quaint town located on a bluff with spectacular views of Lake Michigan's Silver Beach, Lighthouse and pier where the St. Joseph River enters Lake Michigan. It was even voted by Parents Magazine as one of the Top Ten family beaches in America in 2002.
Don't miss out on great shopping, restaurants, coffee shops, Curious Kid's Museum, Krasl Art Center, band shell with free entertainment in the summer, charter boat fishing, and relaxing walks along the beach or bluff. Unique festivals and activities take place throughout the entire year. There won't be enough time to see it all in one stay!! Be sure to check it out.
South Haven is another quaint beach community located minutes away. It has been titled the 'Blueberry Capital of the World'. They have a large festival in August that you won't want to miss! Year Purchased: 2008
Kathy and I have always enjoyed remodeling single family homes and this property is no exception. We started renovating with our first home in 1985 and enjoyed the work and the results. After leaving the corporate world in January 2008, we dove into our previous hobby full time and formed Virgil Investments, LLC in 2009. Our business model is based on the idea of "Quality Homes for Quality People."
Why the Owner Chose Watervliet
Friends of our told us about Paw Paw Lake and we found a home that needed some updating but was in excellent shape and had views of the lake. We decided to take on this project and offer a furnished seasonal rental during the summer and a short term rental off peak. The peak season for SW Michigan is June through September and off peak is October through May. We have enjoyed meeting people from all over this great country and sharing this property with them. We have had a lot of positive feedback and expect many of our customers will come back each year.
The Unique Benefits of this House
Quiet family neighborhood with public access near by and private lakefront area and boat dock. We have a 1981 Hurricane Deck boat available for rental or better yet bring your own boat. Also there are many opportunities for summer fun nearby, including Silver Beach in St. Joseph which has one of the "Top ten family beaches in America." The lake town is located on a bluff overlooking Lake Michigan and the lighthouse and offering great shopping and dining. In 2010 the new Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course will open all 18 holes and the completely renovated Jean Klock Park has just reopened to the public. This is just one of many Lake Michigan towns near this property. Other great cities within 30 minutes include South Haven, Saugutuk, and New Buffalo. Also within 30 minutes if South Bend, IN home of Notre Dame and the Fighting Irish!! Our Paw Paw Lake property is conveniently located to may activities in Southwest Michigan.
