The Sandpiper Palm Desert is conveniently located on the corner of El Paseo (the “Rodeo Drive” of the desert), and Highway 74 (The “Palms to Pines” Highway). Highway 111 is the main thoroughfare through the desert, and is one block away. The nearest airport, Palm Springs International, is approximately 20 minutes away.
El Paseo is lined by art galleries, day spas, casual and fine dining, and shops. If shopping is on your list you are in for a treat! El Paseo offers many shops including Gucci and St. John. The outdoor mall, The Gardens on El Paseo, includes Saks, Ann Taylor, Brooks Brothers, Williams Sonoma, and Pottery Barn etc…. Directly across the street you will find two grocery stores, Vons and Fresh & Easy, the Westfield Mall, and a variety of family friendly restaurants.
The Palms to Pines Highway leaves Palm Desert and climbs through the Santa Rosa Mountains. Idyllwild, a quaint mountain resort, and the vineyards in Temecula, are a short drive. Heading further south are San Diego and the coast.
Recreation and entertainment abound with a long list of activities including: biking and hiking trails in the nearby canyons, casinos, cinemas, day spas, live theatre at the McCallum Theatre, a water-park, and a wild animal park. The desert is a golfer’s paradise and there are many golf courses to suit your game, your budget, and your handicap.
The Sandpiper condominiums, designed by Palmer and Krisel, are a famous representation of Desert Modernism. Architects and students of architecture come from around the world to study the unique layout which guarantees each unit privacy and outstanding views through walls of glass. The gardens and pool areas are extensive and shared with a maximum of 16 single story units in each "circle" of Condos.
Our home offers spectacular views from inside and out. There are 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, breakfast bar, dining area, living room, and two patios. The master bedroom has an en suite bathroom with shower, and a marble double sink. The guest bath has shower and marble sink. The kitchen is fully equipped and has slab granite countertops, stainless steel appliances, and a breakfast bar. There are two patios that have outdoor dining.
The pool area boasts beautiful mountain views, a large heated pool, covered ramada, gas BBQ, dining tables, chairs and sun loungers, shuffleboard, and a putting green.

I enjoy hiking the local canyons, playing golf, and hanging out by the pool with my family. Sandpiper is right on El Paseo and we can walk to grocery stores, retail shops, and dining. Sandpiper is beautiful and super convenient.

Thank you letting us rent your condo. We are having a fab time. Your place is very nice and we enjoyed being so close to all the amenities of El Paseo. Your place is clean, neat, tidy, and tranquil as was described. The weather is perfect - sunny and warm in the day time and cool in the evening. The wife is enjoying shopping on El Paseo, and we tried our best to hit as many restaurants as we could. Loved your recommendations (3rd Corner Bistro, Sullivans and Back Street Bistro.) Golf was great, we played tennis, and did some of the hikes in your book. Hope to visit again next year.
Recommended for:Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing, age 55+.

We enjoyed our stay at your place, especially as time went on and the weather got warmer. The pool, at 88 degrees was lovely, and though I don't consider myself a pool person, I really enjoyed the water. The views from the patio toward the mountains with the palm trees in the foreground were wonderful. The location at Sandpiper can't be beat. We think of it often and maybe we'll return one day.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in your lovely Sandpiper condo. Everything was just as displayed. The unit was super clean, had great views of the mountains and pool area and we couldn't ask for a better location. Thank you for the tips about the free yellow shuttle service along El Paseo. We appreciated your guest book with maps and tips on dining, shopping, golf courses, and hiking trails.
