although away from the centre, with the "L" red line very close by and different bus stops in the neighbourhood you are always rather fast in any place around Chicago. It is a quiet neighbourhood with a supermarket at approximately 10 minutes walking. Very friendly and helpful owner.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing.
Owner response: Eddy, Thank you! We are hoping to welcome you back in the near future :) Regards Honey & Ian

This unit was a very convenient location. It's not in the heart of downtown, but that is only a 15-20 minute bus ride away. The unit is well-kept and clean. The dishwasher wasn't working properly when we arrived, but the owner had informed us ahead of time and offered to have it repaired. We didn't do any cooking so we opted to not have the repairs made while we were there.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, families with young children.
Owner response: Thank you for the review and for understand , We have a new dish washer on the unit, We work to improve our guests experienced and Review is always very welcome!

This was my wife and I first time to Chicago and we had an awesome time. The topper of the whole experience was staying in this condo. The location was great you were able to walk everywhere. We walked to Wrigley Field, up the lake to Montrose Beach and all the down to the beach at Fullerton. Being at this condo really made you a part of the neighborhood. We were all over the place driving to from the Signature Room downtown on up to Northwestern College. Parking was also easy we found a place almost every night and one night we paid $10 (which is cheap usu.$30 or more) right behind the building. We liked it so much we plan on renting it again before years end.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Tom., We appreciated your review and hope see you soon! Thank you ! Ian & Honey

The apartment is north of the center, but it is easy to get there. The rooms are clean and the a have everything you need. Expect the mattress and the sofa-bed in the living room is not the best! The owners honey and ian are very very friendly and helpful - never had such nice owners!!!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Location is excellent, very close to the lake. Owners are very nice and accommodating. Apartment is NOT as advertised in that it is NOT air conditioned! Bedroom has an air conditioning initial, living area was uncomfortably hot many days. Building/apartment is quite old. Paint peeling, etc. IF you intend to cook, kitchen is poorly equipped. It is fine for coffee and a light breakfast, but not for making a dinner meal. Parking in this area is HORRENDOUS! It took us between 15 and 40 minutes to find a parking place within 6 blocks every night! Apartment is not particularly clean. We would not return here.Owner response: The apartment is a one-bedroom apartment. The guests announced on arrival that they would be regularly entertaining for six or more family visitors. We responded by buying two extra dining-room chairs on the first day of their arrival (plus more plates and an additional set of silverware). We also bought extra ‘must have’ kitchen items (they gave us a list) like oven mitts, salad tongs and a replacement cutting board. We never advertised or offered a ‘full’ kitchen set up to entertain six or more guests. This is a vacation rental – not a time-share, the measure our guests seemed to be applying. The apartment condo rules limit the owners to one air-conditioner per apartment. We have a 12,000 BTU unit in the bedroom plus fans in the lounge and bedroom. It is what it is… The apartment is scheduled to be re-painted after high season. We have never had any complaints about cleanliness before. However in this particular instance, the guests pressed us for an early check-in at noon (normal check-in is after 2PM earliest). We only had an hour to turn round the apartment. No good deed goes unpunished. The building was built in the 1950’s. You’ll be struggling to find a ‘modern’ building in this area, half a block from the Lake. Nevertheless, the building is very well-maintained by two on-site engineers. Regarding parking, Lakeview is typical of any popular area in Chicago. Parking is always at a premium, especially at night. There is paid parking behind the building: but it’s not free. When the Cubs are playing there is also parking restrictions on the street. If you want to drive your car and arrive back in the evening or later, expect to look for parking or pay for a space. All of this is clearly stated on our website, www.honeyholidayhomes.com. The apartment is suitable for any guest wanting a vacation rental. It is not marketed as a home from home for regular dinner parties. And frankly, this type of guest is not a target for us either because of additional wear and tear and often the need for a deep cleaning after the stay. This is the first negative review we’ve ever had. We appreciate the review but the core issue is that our apartment was not a good fit for this particular guest’s needs. Honey & Ian

The Bittersweet apartment was perfect for our needs and Honey and Ian are fantastic hosts. We are pretty easy tennants so no fuss from us in general. We use to live in a similar place in NYC so it was like being home again. The pictures dont do it justice really...the floors are real wood, the kitchen is modern, restroom up to date, bedroom fine too. We would definitely use it again when back in Chicago.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thank you Dave. and welcome back any time. Honey and Ian

We came here for a few days in May. The condo is convenient to the CTA station and the bus, and is an easy walk to Wrigley Field. Also very easy access to Lake Shore Drive and Lincoln Park; we had a fantastic run down the park to the Loop. Horizon Cafe, a nearby diner, is a must; a neighborhood place, with very friendly staff and very good food. Dollop Coffee and Tea is a great little coffee shop nearby. The condo itself is very charming; we spent most of our time out and exploring, but it was always nice to come back to a clean and comfortable place. Would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My boyfriend and I stayed in this condo for a long weekend in August to see the Red Sox play the White Sox and to see a Cubs v. Cards game. It's very close to Wrigley and about a half hour train ride to US Cellular field. Easy navigation. Train was inexpensive (3 day pass for 12.00)and the condo is only a short train ride from the airport. Clubs, restaurants, shopping all within walking distance, ESPN is a short train ride. The condo is very clean and comfortable and well-appointed. We plan on making this a yearly pilgrimage! Chicago is a most excellent place to visit. Tons of exercising paths around Lake Michigan, a superb zoo that's FREE, and Wrigley field is a classic old ball park like Fenway... all this and Ian and Honey's condo is a charmer. GO RED SOX!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
