This unique, luxury brick structure in the very center of charming downtown Nevada City offers two stories of romantic hideaway ambiance.
The lovely living room with French doors that open to a private garden swimming pool also offers a kitchenette, flat screen Denon entertainment system with iPod connection, wireless internet access, wood burning fireplace, Dutch doors which open to sweet Commercial St. and an exposed brick bathroom with a large marble walk-in shower. There is a small office nook on the main floor. Upstairs is a loft bedroom with queen sized bed dressed in luxurious linens with a second charming half bathroom (no shower).
The cottage is cozy and bright, perfect for any season to enjoy all that Nevada City and the surrounding area have to offer.

Undiscovered Gold Nugget in Nenvada City

After staying in several area hotels, motels, and bed and breakfasts, I was lucky enough to stumble across this little gem right in the center of Nevada City. It’s absolutely beautiful, immaculately kept and has all the modern conveniences. From the beautiful interior, to the excellent location, to the wonderful shower pressure (and trust me, that’s hard to find in a mountain getaway), everything was beyond my expectations. Besides the beautiful appointments of the furniture and décor, the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxing week of rest and wine tasting. And as the temperature in the area was practically in the triple digits, the private pool was a complete gift. The bathrooms are modern yet kept in the style of the area. The queen size bed was very nice and the pillows were fluffy. I had NO problem sleeping. The mini kitchen was handy and we even made dinner there a couple of nights. Whether you’re in the living room watching some TV or by the pool at the bistro table, you can’t help but want a delicious glass of the local wines in your hand. The entire place is set up for relaxation. And during the cold season, the fireplace burns wood for a romantic evening (another reason I’m going back). But if that weren’t enough, when you leave your front door, you’re right in the middle of town, walking distance to all restaurants, bars, and entertainment. Walking distance is Friar Tucks Restaurant which has some of the best steaks in the area, if not THE best. Also in the immediate area is Sopa Thai Restaurant which is both delicious and reasonably priced, as well as Matteos Public which conveniently stays open late. A half a block away is Ikes for a delicious breakfast or lunch and also New Moon Restaurant for a romantic dinner. On the opposite side of the block are Cirinos (delicious Italian), Las Katarinas (yummy Mexican food with very original margaritas), Leftys (the burgers are incredible), Nevada City Classic Café (delicious breakfast crepes), among others. There’s nothing like a Nevada City getaway and being only one block from your room, and a beautiful room at that. The towels are superior grade, there are wonderful soaps (which I’m guessing are locally made), and Joleen, the woman who helped us with our stay was as nice as they come. I can’t recommend this heavenly getaway enough. And I can’t wait to get back.

We got married in Grass Valley, and stayed here on our wedding night. Best recommendation ever! Perfect location for all downtown Nevada City attractions. Great pool. Immaculate condition. Felt brand new. Would give our highest recommendation. Everyone that saw it wanted to book it for their next special occasion. If you are coming to the Gold Country, and it is available, STAY HERE!!!
