This is not a cabin on the lake, but a beautiful 3,000 plus square foot luxury waterfront home offered as a seasonal winter rental or as vacation rental. This property features the best big water sunsets on Lake Blackshear. The lakefront beach features coarse, brown sand.
Conveniently located 2 hours south of Hartsfield-Jackson International airport. 3 BR, 3.5 BA. Exquisitely appointed home with professionally landscaped grounds on waterfront lot larger than an acre. All bedrooms have private baths and front living room includes very comfortable convertable queen bed with private half bath, and is situated in front of a huge fireplace. The house has three HD TV's and two other large flat screen tube tv's.
Watch gorgeous sunsets from the oversized pool deck, each bedroom, the lakeside dining area, or the private dock. Georgia Veterans Golf Course less than one mile away. On-lake dining at two restaurants is a 2 minute boat ride. Bring your boat and tie up to our dock.
Other amenities include: BBQ pit, huge fireplace, double shower in master, Viking Stainless Steel Appliances in gourmet kitchen, hardwoods throughout much of main floor, satellite with DVR, DSL, wireless internet, new carpet and long distance phone service. Pool, spa, or both can be gas heated for extra gas fees.
Towels, linens,laundry detergent, dishwashing liquid, and dishwasher detergent are provided and included in the rental fees.
An experienced local Captain offers sunset cruises of Lake Blackshear on his private charter for those interested. Guided fishing trips on Lake Blackshear or privately stocked trophy bass ponds nearby can also be arranged upon request.
We just hosted a family wedding for 250, and will be doing weddings for up to 200 guests in Sept thru November of 2010, and March thru May of 2011. Inquire by phone if you're interested in having your wedding at the Lake.

My family stayed at this property this past July. It was one of the most relaxing and peaceful vacations we have ever been on. The house was even bigger than we thought it would be and was decorated beautifully. The landscaping around the home was beautiful, the pool was great, the private dock and swimming area were awesome, and the sunsets were spectacular. We loved "all" of the views of the lake...from the pool deck, the dock, the beautiful windows from inside the home, the balconies, and the screened-in porch. My family had a blast renting boats and jet skis, swimming in the lake and pool, and we also enjoyed the Veterans Park which was close by. The person we rented from was also very nice and friendly, and gave us information on nearby restaurants and shopping. We were also happy that we were able to bring along our family dog. I would highly recommend this property. Our family wants to go back again next year.

The house and accomodations were just as described. The sunsets are not to be missed. We enjoyed ourselves very much even though the weather didn't cooperate the whole time. The owners recommended some local places to eat. We were very pleased with the 3 places we tried. We wish we could of stayed longer and hope to return soon. Checkout couldn't be simpler. Start dishwasher and take trash to dumpster up the street. We have stayed at other places that had 2 pages of checkout procedures. Thanks for a wonderful vacation!

We spent a long weekend in this home and loved every minute of it! This house is right on the lake with beautiful views. Everything was clean and well taken care of. Near lots of great retaurants and so many things to do. My family rented a pontoon boat and spent a day on the lake--so much fun! We were already talking of a return trip before we had even left.
Owner response:I've gone to the lake for so long, I sometimes forget how much there is to do. Two great golf courses are very close. The Georgia Veterans park and the Retreat and Marina are 5 minutes away. There are several great restaurants nearby. The Little White House, Callaway Gardens, Cheaha Park, The Little Grand Canyon, and the The Excursion Train are also close trips. Our problem when we go to the Lakehouse is that we don't have the time to do everything we want to do.

My family and I stayed at this property during our spring break. The house and views were breath-taking. We enjoyed the pool, the lake, and were amazed at the seclusion of the rental, plus the convenience to the Veteren's Memorial State Park and all it has to offer. Although the house only has 3 bedrooms, it is much larger than we expected. It is a perfect rental for more than one family or for a group. The house is set up in a way that one can be with a group and still maintain one's own privacy. Loved it and will definitely go back. Loved the weather in the spring and think I will come back with a group of fellow teacher’s during our fall break.Well worth the rental price.

Our family enjoyed a great week at this lake home in March. It is everything it appears to be in this listing! We have come to the Cordele area to ride bicycles each spring for many years. This was by far the best place we've stayed. The home was clean and ready for us upon arrival. The owners were extremely helpful and accommodating. The kitchen was well supplied with dishes/pots/pans, etc.. There were many areas for us to split up and enjoy different activities. The bedrooms are spacious and the beds were quite comfortable. Lots of room for adults only or families. We appreciated having the bathroom paper goods and linens provided...even the laundry soap was there! The pool was very cold the week we were there but would be great during the summer months. My children enjoyed a few swims anyway! The view of the lake is spectacular and there is a great dock for sun-bathing or fishing. The screen porch provided a "play-pen" for my younger children on which they could play and blow bubbles. They were able to be outside but were contained! We rode bicycles each day of our vacation and were able to ride out and back right from the house. There are great routes in the country if you are interested in riding. You can also enjoy riding the road the house is on if you want a short family ride. My kids also enjoyed the basketball goal! We would highly recommend this property and we look forward to returning next spring.

I would HIGHLY recommend this vacation home. Beautiful house, BEAUTIFUL view, beautiful lake. You will not be disappointed. My husband I will definitely rent this home again. It was the perfect get away and met all expectations for us!

We have stayed at many condos and beach houses but our stay at Lake Blackshear was one of the best. The house was fully equipped with everything we needed. The sunsets from the dining room over the lake are breath taking. We will definitely stay here again and look forward to catching more fish from the dock.
