Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 1998
Mike and Diana Rose, are the owners of Timbernest A7. We have two daughters and live in the Littleton, Colorado area.
Why the Owner Chose Timbernest
I always had the dream of owning a mountain condo in Colorado. In 1998 we finally found the unit we were looking for. The location of the Timbernest condos was ideal and the historic Town of Breckenridge was a great match for our life style. We were not looking for the high-society type life style that comes with certain ski areas but rather we preferred a town where ordinary people just enjoyed having a great time without the pretentiousness. The great ski area and the wonderful shops and restaurants made this an easy choice for us.
The Unique Benefits of this Condo
We enjoy the location of our condo which provides a short walk (approx.500 feet) across the Blue River to the double-loading, Super-Six chair lift and one block to Main Street. Our complete remodel of the interior of our condo including hand-crafted wood work personally completed by me has resulted in a unique decor and a mountain cabin atmosphere that we love sharing with others. We provide benefits including free coffee, cider, and hot chocolate and over 220 movies that won't be found in other condos.

My wife and I and our 18 year old son just spent 4 great days/nights at the condo. We found it very home like. For a Rental Condo it had more perks than any we have ever stayed in the past. The owners have provided more than enough Hot Chocolate/ Apple Cider and Coffee that can be drank. The DVD movies contain every type of movie for everyone’s taste. We did not play any of the video games but saw there were many different titles there as well. As skiers this was a great place because it was close to the base of Peak ( and has a ski storage at the base of the stairs so you don’t have to pay the $5 per night to store them at the slope or drag them up the stairs. As far as kitchen supplies there were every kind of pan/tool you need. (Could have used a mixer for making corn bread one night but did it the old fashion way, by hand) The gas fireplace was great for taking the chill off after skiing all day (it was -10 our first two days with even lower wind chill). The condo was warm and the shower water was always warm / hot as well. When we come back to Breckenridge again we will definitely stay here. Thank you for a great stay.

I stayed in the suite along with 3 other people, and it was a very pleasant surprise. The kitchen had all the cooking supplies we needed; even a blender and glasses for margarita night! The location was perfect, we never used our car as it was about a 10 minute walk to Main Street and many hiking trails. The process was hassel free and the entire weekend was a blast. Thank you!!!
Owner response:We're glad you enjoyed your stay!

2/6/2008: My wife and I are retired but still love to ski. We are so happy to have found your condo for our annual two week stay in Breckenridge. We have stayed in many places during our retirement travels but yours is the best stocked that we have seen. Hope that we can return next year. Thank you for everything.

My two sons and I stayed at the Timbernest A7 property Jan 2-5. We were pleased with the price we got and certainly the location! It was the perfect size for the 3 of us and we were very pleased with the amenities with the exception of the master bedroom bedding. The bedding in the master smelled like it needed to be laundered much more frequently and it also needed a matress pad! I called housekeeping at 8:30pm our first night there, requesting a matress pad between the fitted sheet and the matress. I was told that couldn't be done. I was told that housekeeping would try and remedy the situation the next morning, which was never followed up on. At the very least, I expect, paying any amount, clean bedding!
Owner response:We are sorry that you found a problem with the bedding. We pride ourselves in having a first rate condo including the bedding. We even go so far to hand picking printed sheets so we don't have the all-white motel look. I don't know what happened to the mattress pad but it must have been removed by a prior guest for whatever reason. It has been replaced and the cleaning crew has been advised to be more responsive in the future.

11/22/2007 The condo was close to skiing, shopping & restaurants. It was well stocked (expect for the bath towels) We enjoyed the video games and dvds! But the downside, is it is located next to the stairs and it was very noisy whenever someone walked up and down them. We also had a family staying in the condo on the floor of the above this one, who had 5 kids who constantly stomped around. In the middle of the night, we had people outside yelling late at night. We would not recommend this condo just because it is not a quiet place.
Owner response:This is the first negative comment we have had on our condo. As far as the noise is concerned this is HIGHLY unusual but can naturally occur anywhere there are other renters. No one else has ever complained about noise from the stairs. We apologize that others made your stay less than you expected.

This was our first time here and what a wonderful experience it was, the condo was so furnished I couldnt believe all the little extra's that were provided. I definitely loved all the wood working and a big plus was the movie selection which was nice, due to the fact we all just needed a quiet relaxing weekend. It was so close to town, you could walk and didnt have to worry about traffic and parking. This is definitely a place you wil want to visit over and over again, I know we are planning on returning!!

It was a wonderful getaway for our first wedding anniversary. The condo was wonderfully decorated and the abundance of natural wood was great. We went 5 miles upstream and caught enough trout for a nice fish dinner. The wide selection of recorded movies provided entertaining evenings. We'll be back. Ron & Joanne
