SETTING: This quaint 1800's log cabin has been fully restored and modernized. It sits high on the ridge of a beautiful valley with long valley views. Enjoy the wraparound flagstone porch at sunset and watch the deer. Peace and quiet are what you will find here. The night sky is sparkly and the evenings are cool. If you want to unplug from busy city life and technology this is the place. Bring a good book and relax.
BEDROOM: The bedroom loft has two twin beds, antique bureaus and a high ceiling. In the living room are two pullout sleepers.
BATHROOM: One bathroom with shower.
KITCHEN: Enjoy cooking in the spacious kitchen that welcomes conversation. The cook stove is gas and there is a side by side refrigerator, coffee pot and plenty of cookware. A ceiling fan keeps the cool breezes flowing.
LIVING ROOM: You can open both the front and back door for cross breezes. Lots of sun shines through during the day and at night the gas fireplace makes for a very cozy stay. There is a small TV with VCR and videos provided.
ACTIVITIES: You are literally minutes from the New River, Blacksburg/Christiansburg offers dining, shopping and entertainment, Roanoke is an hour's drive. Go for a hike on the Appalachian Trail or any number of other close by trails. There is a quaint restaurant 10 minutes from the cabin and an all natural foods cafe down the road. Enjoy the fall colors Sep-Oct or come in the summer and enjoy the river.

Year Purchased: 2007
I bought this place to return to my country roots and have my horses with me. My cabin sits about 100 yards behind my residence and is very private. While very convenient to town this place has a very peaceful environment that makes you feel as if you are removed from the city.
Why the Owner Chose Blacksburg
I was looking for a place in the mountains yet close enough to town. From here you can either explore the outdoors or go into town for dining and entertainment. The area is full of interesting sights to see.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
Staying here can offer you some real solitude. You can choose to be active or just sit on the porch and read. The conveniences are all within a 20 minute drive yet once you arrive it is hard to leave. The views of the mountains and down the valley are postcard like. The cabin is simple to fit the lifestyle. There is a u-pick blueberry farm down the road that is open August to October, a Christmas tree farm where you cut your own and an organic farm where you can get fresh vegetables.
