I have traveled to Costa Rica for over 15 years and never stayed in Dominical - I can't believe I waited so long. The jungle is lush (even in the dry season), the Pacific is mesmerizing, and Casa Las Terrazas captures both. The house, and surrounding, beautifully maintained grounds, were very tranquillizing, and it was a pleasure to listen to the jungle life wake up each morning, and begin to bed-in at sunset - pura vida. I especially enjoyed sleeping in the Crow's Nest and listening to the howler monkeys each morning. The infinity pool cannot be described - I spent hours at the end of the infinity staring at the panoramic Pacific and the Whale's Tail - thinking about very little, I am proud to admit. Neil was the quintessential host - he was a wealth of information and a genuine pleasure. If the description and pictures of Casa Las Terrazas interest you, then commit, because no description or photographs could adequately describe this piece of paradise. Your stay will be memorable, relaxing, and you will leave refreshed and rejuvenated. Thank you Jerry and Neil.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.

If you are looking for an amazing house with breath taking views and tons of character them look no further. This was my first trip to Costa Rica and it definitely will not be my last. This house is close to anything there is to do in Costa Rica. As soon as I walked in the front door I immediately felt like I was at not in someone else's house but in my own home. I can't describe how wonderful this property is so you are going to have to see it for yourself.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

We have traveled quite a bit but this was one of our best vacations ever. The house was amazing and it was just like how it was described in the website. The kitchen had all the amenities that we needed. We all loved the infinity pool and of course that amazing view of the Pacific Ocean. Seeing Whale's Tail from the house provoked our need to go see it in person. It took us a time or two to find it but when we did it was worth the time. We saw toucan's everyday flying around the area of the house and even a couple very up close by the pool. We did not see any howler monkeys but we did hear them. We had a varying range of ages and interests in our group of seven but we all found many things that we wanted to do and accomplished them. I would strongly suggest the waterfall tour, it was amazing but the water was freezing but definelty worth it. I am recovering from back surgery and did not want to risk the horse ride but they offered a pick up ride instead. That worked out great for all of us, it had padded benches in the bed so it was comfortable. This tour comes with breakfast and lunch, both of the meals were really good. For the price it was a real deal. Of course some of our group did the zip line through the rain forest and they all came back with many stories. Everyone enjoyed that but they did say if you are afraid of heights it may not be for you. We loved all the mom & pop restaurants along the road sides, we never had a bad meal. We did go into Dominical one evening and had tapas at Confusione Tapas Restaurant, it was wonderful. We all agreed when we return to this amazing area and property we need to plan a two week vacation, one week was not enough. Neil was great with arranging all the tours we wanted and helping us navigate the area. He even helped to arrange a wedding for us at the house. We have the most wonderful pictures from the wedding. The ceremony was held under the tiki hut and our bouquets were made by a local woman from flowers and greenery on the property. This definelty will not be a trip any one of us will ever forget. Thanks so much to Jerry, Theresa and Neil for a perfect vacation.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+.

What a beautiful place to spend seven wonderful, peaceful, and relaxing, days! The views were incaparable, the house was so comfortable, and the sunsets, sunrises, and stars of night were all breathtaking! If I ever imagined what heaven could be like, I now have a distinct, and visual, idea! I loved gettiing up in the early morning, watching the colors of the sunrise flood the skies, and feeling the clean and fragranced breeze. As the day brightened, waiting for the toucans to come for their breakfast in the palm trees behind the house was pure relaxation! Sunsets are equally beautiful, whether they are viewed from the Playa Domenical, or from the comfort of the house! Our family of six adults enjoyed going to Playa Uvita and Marino Balleno Park; to Hacienda Baru where some of us enjoyed zip-lining; to Manuel Antonio Natural Park to view sloths, local birds and monkeys, Costa Rican frogs, and huge blue morpho butterflies; and to Isla de Cano where we scuba dived, hiked, and even got some deep sea fishing in! We loved eating at the local restaurants, and every meal was good! Just remember, when you are in Costa Rica, time is suspended, and eating a lunch or dinner can take several hours! "Pura Vita" suggests that to savor every day, you must take your time! Most of all, we enjoyed interacting with the people of Costa Rica who are generous, helpful, lovely, and always friendly! Neil was invaluable in making recommendations from eateries to the different types of tours available in the area. Coming to Costa Rica, and to Casa las Terraza, will always be a memory that we will cherish, and will remain with us for a long, long time! Thank you, Jerry and Theresa, for allowing us to share your wonderful home!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+.

Our stay at Casa Las Terrazas was the epitome of paradise. Everything from the private tropical property, excellent pool, amazing views, and bountiful wildlife made our stay enjoyable. We especially loved watching tucans, sloths and other exotic wildlife from the very open and airy house. The long winding dirt road up the mountain to house made for an added sense of adventure - for which a four-wheel drive vehicle is a must. The house is well located between Dominical, a surfer's dream town, and Ulvita, home to the famous Marino Ballena National Park, with both less than 10-15 minutes by car. We spent most of the trip at the local beach in Dominicalito which was very quiet, and did sea kayaking and ziplining south of Ulvita. However, one could easily spend an entire week without leaving the house since there is so much wildlife to see and hear on the property. Niel, the infamous property manager, is extremely friendly and helpful and lives very close in case you need any help. Also, he's British, so you won't have to worry about problems communicating with him. That whole part of the country has the 'pura vida' mentality, which is an excellent way to get away from it all. You won't be disappointed with this house. PS - The Jolly Roger, a local gringo bar walking distance from the house, has some of the best chicken wings in all the Americas.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

I am so inspired and enthusiastic about this phenomenal property that I am still here, on top of the world, looking at the spectacular view ( just like in the photos, only better!!!), feeling the breeze on my skin, cool as a cucumber, and hoping everyone who thinks of coming here does so. Costa Rica is such a rich and wonderful place, but I just had to duck as another magnificent chestnut mandible toucan came in for a landing. The place has just enough trees to support the many magnificent birds of the area, and there is a tree just beyond the pool where the toucans congregate. How rich is that???? Ahhhhhh!!! As to the house and property they are lovely and well maintained. Last night we cooked a fresh tuna supper from the fish we caught, ate by candlelight on the fully screened in patio ( there is plenty of light, but it was utterly lovely with the candles) and slept like babies in the breeze from the ocean and overhead fan. The house has the feeling of remoteness, but the good news is we are really just a few minutes away from all the wonderful things that the area has to offer. Thanks for making our stay so incredible, and a special thanks to Neil, the super property manager who took the time to check on us and be sure everything was to our liking. In case it isn't clear enough, we highly recommend this property to anyone, from romantics to families.Recommended for: People with disabilities, sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, age 55+.
Owner response: Thank you for your kind words Elise. We think it is a special place as well. Come back again!

After researching countless destinations to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary we found the PERFECT spot! The pictures on the website are beautiful, however, pictures simply cannot do Casa Las Terrazas justice, the home is gorgeous and immaculate, the views are breathtaking! We enjoyed morning coffee on the patio taking in the landscape...mountains in the distance, the ocean all around, no matter where you look every angle is God's created beauty! The grounds are perfectly taken care of by a wonderful gardener, exotic flowers are everywhere, toucans fly from tree to tree and to hear the howler monkeys every day was incredible. The home owner, Jerry, was very helpful answering every question about what to expect on our trip making us feel very at ease. Our vacation and anniversary were perfect thanks to the property manager Neil! Neil went above and beyond, always helpful and one of the nicest people we have had the pleasure of getting to know. Neil recommended restaurants and took care of everything from booking our excursion to taking care of our anniversary reservations. He was always making sure we had whatever we needed and without a doubt made our trip unforgettable! We highly recommend the canopy zip line tour, you will not be disappointed, truly an experience not to be missed! The home is very comfortable and spacious, would be great to go with family and friends. All though to have enjoyed the serenity and peacefulness with just the two of us was priceless, no distractions, no interruptions, just the sounds of the rainforest and the breeze from the hammock! We look forward to returning to Casa Las Terrazas and highly recommend this property to anyone looking for the experience of a lifetime in Costa Rica! Gracias Jerry and Neil!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

My ten days at Casa Las Terrazas were wonderful. The house is clean, comfortable, and well-equipped; the gardens are beautiful. My only dilemma was which view I enjoyed more from the infinity pool--looking out along the south coast of Costa Rica or out to the west, across the Pacific. Then there is the gazebo with its hammock for shady dozing fanned by the gentle breezes. Beautiful landscaped property that is perched on a steep hillside, with natural jungle on all sides. Birds (yes, toucans), butterflies, monkeys, and crickets kept us entertained every day. You have to see the night skies to believe how many stars shine over the Casa Las Terrazas.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

If you are thinking about renting Casa Las Terrazas, book it! If you think the pictures are great, wait until you get to see it in person. The entire property is a slice of paradise. The house and pool are perfectly situated to capitalize on the views of the jungle and Pacific. If you are with a group and drawing straws for rooms, cross your fingers that you get the Crow's Nest. Go to sleep with a panorama of stars that you feel like you can reach out and touch. Wake up to the sounds of the jungle and sights that the morning skies offer. Don't miss the Saturday Market in Uvita or perhaps the Thursday market in San Isidro to stock up on everything at it's freshest. After numerous trips to Costa Rica, the stay at Casa Las Terazzas convinced me this area is my next home, In the meantime, this is the place to enjoy the beauty that Costa Rica has to offer and to create memories for a lifetime. I would be remiss not to mention that the property manager Neil did everything to make sure that we were happy, comfortable and well informed about the area. He is an added plus.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway, age 55+.
