Direct Oceanfront Condo - the Plaza - the Jewel of the Beach
Why the Owner Chose Plaza
I had two criteria when we decided to buy a place at the beach:
Oceanfront: Some buildings are oceanfront, but the unit and view of the ocean from the balcony are not. I wanted a unit that was DIRECT oceanfront. I did not have to look around the end of the balcony or move my balcony furniture sideways to to get a glimpse of the ocean. I was at the beach and I wanted to see and hear the ocean.
Pools: I wanted a building with indoor and outdoor pools AND the indoor pool had to be operational year round! The Plaza has two pools and the indoor pool is open until midnight and the indoor pool area also has a sauna and whirlpool. The pool is prepared for the summer and is not open after Martin Luther King BD and President's Day.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
I enjoyed drinking coffee on the balcony and looking and listening to the ocean.

I LUV this place. Five of us stayed there and had plenty of room. The views of the ocean and bay are beautiful. The kitchen is well stocked, but if you don't want to cook -- there is a lounge with good food, drinks and entertainment. The condo is clean, nicely decorated and has flat screen TVs in the living room and every bedroom so there are no disagreements about what to watch. The Plaza is the place to be if you want to be oceanfront and we had a wonderful vacation. Looking forward to do it again.

My wife and I had rented a condo in Myrtle Beach last year and were looking for a similar experience closer to home. This unit although nice had its faults. We walked in 3 hours after check-in and found tons of sand on the floor, in the couches, the rugs etc.. Luckily not in the beds. A slat from the blinds was missing. A towel rack in the master bath fell out of the wall. The AC in the 2nd bedroom wasn't working. After receiving an extremely detailed contract about what we couldn't do and the fact we had to provide our own sheets and towels, we were expecting a little more. However the location of the building was great. Tons of restaurants and a supermarket across the street with a 7-11 next door for quick purchases like beer. The beaches and pools were very nice. The unit had a great view. My kids absolutely loved it. Both are under 5 years old. As far as restaurants, Lombardi's has very good Italian and Pizza. If ordering pizza, do not use any of those places that dropped fliers. We did. When we found out where they were located, we would have been better off making it ourselves. They were so far south they were almost in Virginia. If you like ribs, hit Nick's. Excellent and they have a really good bar. BJ's has a very nice view. Food was good but pricey. The Blue Ox was very good as well. All in all we had a very nice time but for the money we thought the place would have been in a little better shape especially considering we had to bring our own towels, sheets
Owner response:I am enclosing the actual email from this renter -- not on the Saturday he entered, or the day after he entered (Sunday), or even on Monday, or even on Tuesday, but rather on Wednesday morning -- halfway into his rental. Now, if you as a renter have issues, #1. communicate them in a timely manner #2. give the owner an opportunity to correct your issues. In this renter's "extremely detailed contract", was the name and phone number for the cleaning company and the clincher is that you can see from his email, he did not want the cleaning company in during his stay, dispite my follow up email trying to address the issues. Here is his email: Sent: Wed, Jul 14, 2010 9:49 am Subject: Re: HomeAway Inquiry for Property #275758 - 7/10/10 through 7/17/10 We are having a nice time down in Ocean City. I did want to alert you of a couple of things. We arrived 3 hours after check in on Saturday and found one of the blind slats on the floor in the master bedroom. We will try to hang it up before we leave. Also we tried to hang a towel on the towel rod in the master bath room. It came off of the wall. We put it back in but have not put a towel back on it. These are not an issue for us but we just don't want to lose our security deposit. One thing you may want to address though is the cleaning staff. We found a ton of sand around the apartment in the rugs and furniture. You can feel it when you sit. You can also see a ton of sand under the sofa's. Like I said we are having a very nice time but we just wanted to make you aware of this. Since we have small children that usually nap in the afternoons we didn't want to schedule maintenance but maybe you may want to have them come on Saturday after we leave and before the next guests arrive. Thanks. AND here is an email from the people who rented the following week: Date:Sat, Jul 24, 2010 4:57 pm. I just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time at your condo. The place was so spacious and beautiful and you couldn't have ask for more supplies for your kitchen. We loved the view from the XXth floor and enjoyed all the entertainment at the Plaza from the pool to the evening entertainer, I can see why you chose the Plaza. We left a day early because our grandson was sick and also to try to beat the Sat. rush. I wanted to thank you for a very enjoyable week and the next time we come to OC we would love to rent your place again. We certainly will recommend this to our friends. You decide!

My husband and I went to this condo just for a little getaway for a few days. We enjoyed the hot tub in the evening to relax in and then back to the condo since the weather wasn't the greatest outside. But, I can't forget to mention the VIEW! Oh what a wonderful view of the ocean and bayside from the 17th floor! Thanks for sharing your condo with us on a last minute getaway.

Myself and three friends just returned from a visit and was fortunate to come across this condo. Everything was perfect. The colors are soothing, the condo is clean and spacious. The ocean and bay views relaxing. The security was welcoming and helpful. I would recommend this to any family or group wanting to get away. There was plenty of sites to see and places to go.
