What a great place. Perfect spot to do your sight seeing during the day and relaxing on the deck at night. The cabin has everything you need. What a way to wake up in the morning with the view from the loft. I wish we could have stayed longer then the 3 nights. Selena was very nice to work with. We will highly recommend the Cedar Hill Cottage to family and friends.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

A very quiet, scenic location. The cottage is very homey and beautiful. The kitchen is well supplied with all utensils needed. No light pollution at night, allowing for star-gazing. The two-floor spiral staircase captured the attention of our 7 yr old granddaughter. We had a delightful experience! Great for all seasons with charming fireplaces.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My family and I have stayed at what we affectionately refer to as the 'Cottage' numerous times and we look forward to many more stays. My husband and I grew up in Chambersburg but currently live in Minnesota with our daughters, so we have family and friends in the area that we long to visit during our holiday and summer breaks. The cottage has always been clean and inviting upon our arrival. It meets our every need with it's fully equipt kitchen, dishwasher, refrigerator, washer and dryer. The owners and property manager have always been prompt and corteous with requests and suggestions for repairs. We especially enjoy the views of the mountains from the A-frame windows and the relaxing dining on the deck. A few years back we hosted a new year's eve birthday party for my husband at the cottage - our family and friends were thoroughly impressed with the property.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thanks! We love having you guys :)

We very much enjoyed our stay at Cedar Hill Cottage. The house is beautiful inside and out and very clean. The healthy Method brand soaps were a nice touch - I use them at home. We also enjoyed the Pure and Simple Cafe in nearby Greencastle. They have wonderful food but especially lots of options for Gluten Free and special dietary needs. The Cumberland Valley Rail Trail is a great place for a walk or bike ride.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

The Cottage was very clean and comfortable. It had nice decor and a great view from the loft. It was hard to leave the cottage because it was so nice to be there. All the rooms are very comfortable to be in. The bathroom has really nice features and decor. The only improvements I would love to see them add is a bathroom in the den, a tv in the loft and a hot tub outside. Alot of antique stores & restaurants in the area in Chambersburg. A short distance to Gettysburg. We ate at the Blue Parrot in Gettysburg. We recommend the crab bisque soup & the blackened chicken burrito. They have great salads and the prime rib salad is wonderful!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My wife and I, both college professors from California with a great deal of travel experience, rented this for a week in July 2012. It was very nice and exactly as described and our review agrees with earlier ones. It was clean, quiet, well-furnished and when the dishwasher leaked, a repairman was promptly dispatched. My wife has elderly parents nearby and they are no longer able to travel so we stayed in the loft and they spent a couple of nights there and loved it, especially the deck. We also invited some relatives out for a picnic and it was perfect. There is a television on the main floor, one in the basement as well. This would be perfect for a couple wanting to take the old folks for a getaway or a family that just needs a change of scenery. Sit on the deck on watch the cows or go for a walk. Highly recommended!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This was a perfect cabin for a half-way point for us on a trip from Baltimore to Ohio. It was private and still close enough to Chambersburg to enjoy the rail trail, museums, parks, farmer's markets, First Fridays, gyms and restaurants. The deck was enjoyable with a pretty view of the valley.I would recommend this place to friends.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

We chose this home since it's close to Shippensburg University, which we were visiting as alumni. This cabin is top-notch remodeled, with granite countertops and nice fixtures. We loved the spiral staircase which goes from basement to loft. It sits on a nice property, with a flat driveway for kids to ride bikes. Our daughters enjoyed sleeping in the loft area, and it has a 1/2 bath attached. The master bedroom is large and has the full bathroom attached, with a door also to the kitchen hallway. The windows allow plenty of light and it's amazing how that helps to heat the home. The downstairs fireplace was also nice for watching tv in the evening. WiFi was A+. Chambersburg was much bigger than I thought. We would have liked to visit the Trickling Springs Creamery, but they close by early evening. We ate dinner at Red Robin & Rosalie's in Chambersburg, and had ice cream at Bruster's. The Sunnyway Foods store nearby has any grocery items you may have forgotten. Rosalie's has great pizza and sandwiches and an extensive entree menu as well. Caledonia State Park is about 20 minutes away and has hiking and playgrounds. This was a great rental home that we will have good memories of. Thanks to the owners for allowing us to rent their home!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.
