We chose this home since it's close to Shippensburg University, which we were visiting as alumni. This cabin is top-notch remodeled, with granite countertops and nice fixtures. We loved the spiral staircase which goes from basement to loft. It sits on a nice property, with a flat driveway for kids to ride bikes. Our daughters enjoyed sleeping in the loft area, and it has a 1/2 bath attached. The master bedroom is large and has the full bathroom attached, with a door also to the kitchen hallway. The windows allow plenty of light and it's amazing how that helps to heat the home. The downstairs fireplace was also nice for watching tv in the evening. WiFi was A+. Chambersburg was much bigger than I thought. We would have liked to visit the Trickling Springs Creamery, but they close by early evening. We ate dinner at Red Robin & Rosalie's in Chambersburg, and had ice cream at Bruster's. The Sunnyway Foods store nearby has any grocery items you may have forgotten. Rosalie's has great pizza and sandwiches and an extensive entree menu as well. Caledonia State Park is about 20 minutes away and has hiking and playgrounds. This was a great rental home that we will have good memories of. Thanks to the owners for allowing us to rent their home!

Everything was perfect! The cottage was clean and presented just like the pictures. We enjoyed the beautiful fall colors, while visiting Gettysburg and Washington DC. We would be happy to recommend this property.

Cedar Hill Cottage was the perfect location for a sister getaway we call the BIG CHILL! No cell phones (although there is service), quiet place to nap, read or take a walk. The cottage was ample big, clean and beautifully decorated. The grounds were meticulously maintained and all the spring blossoms truly refreshed the soul- lilacs at the end of the driveway!! Regardless of your reason to visit Cedar Hill, you will find peace and relaxation. I would suggest, however, a fire pit on the property...it's just that kind of location and surrounding that would put it over the top! THANK YOU for allowing us to share this special location.

Cedar Hill Cottage was the perfect place for our creative weekend. Cozy, comfortable, fully-equipped, convenient to shopping (even a local music store) and the house is beautiful, as was the sunrise beaming in after a snowy night. If you get the chance, make a reservation and enjoy this gem!
Owner response:Thanks the great review!

This prooperty was just as described. Very clean and comfortable. A friend of mine and I stayed there to reconnect after 8 yrs. The kitchen was a great place to come back to at the end of the day to test some recipes, have some wine, and catch up. The recipes were all a success and will become a part of our families' favorites. One day was spent at Gettysburg National Park and the other visiting wineries in PA and MD. We were able to map out a circle of stops that brought us back within 30 min. of the cottage and none were more than 30 min. from each other. The scenery was absolutely beautiful, fall colors were at their peak.

We stayed at this house on our vacation in Pa...it was a little far away from all of the "Dutch PA" activities, but that was the only drawback from this lovely house. The drive to Lancaster, Pa was beautiful, none the less. Everything was clean and welcoming, we highly recommend this property- it was so nice.

This cottage was a wonderful place to spend a few days as our home base as we traveled around the PA countryside and Gettysburg. The pictures do not do justice to show how roomy the cottage actually is. It was very neat and clean and the kitchen was well supplied with everything we needed. I have already recommended it to friends and would not hesitate to return myself.

Cedar Hill is a perfect location for a relaxing and quiet vacation. The photos and description provide an excellent reflection of the property. We found everything well maintained and very clean. We enjoyed the Copper Kettle recommendation for dinner one night. We would definitely recommend Cedar Hill to our friends and family visiting this area,

The cottage was perfect for a weekend at gettysburg. The drives is only a half hour and was the trail the confederate army took to gettysburg. If you enjoy peace and quiet this is the place to stay even the cows were friendly that live across the street. The description of the cottage on vrbo was exactly as we found it what a gem. Thanks for a great weekend.

The cabin was very affordable, very clean and in a beautiful location! The pictures on the website were accurate (although it actually looked a little bit better in real life, i.e. the loft was gorgeous in reality). I am a stickler with cleanliness, and everything looked tidy and well-kept (I like a place that is brave enough to show the bathrooms on their website and they were nicely maintained). There were 5 of us and there was ample space for up to six people. The area was secluded and wooded, yet close enough to shopping, etc within 15 minutes. If I would visit Pennsylvania again, I would definitely stay again!

The listing description was totally accurate and the pictures were accurate. This was a very pleasant vacation rental. It was very well-maintained, quiet, secluded and close to Hershey (45 minutes), Gettysburg (1/2 hour) and D.C. (1 hour). We definitely would recommend this rental to anyone who wants privacy but close enough to the places that we wanted to visit. It was the perfect location to come back to after our days of sightseeing. Quick refund on our deposit also!

We visited with another couple for a relaxing weekend. The cottage is very comfortable and quiet with a nice view and peaceful surroundings. Everything was exactly as described and the photos were a very accurate depiction. All in all, it's a great place to do some reading, walking, and relaxing.

We just got back from a 4 night stay at Cedar Hill Cottage. This was a great home and a perfect place to stay while visiting family. Great location not far from the major interstate but hidden away in the woods for a feeling of privacy. The house itself was beautiful inside and out. Very, very clean and comfy. Kids loved the den downstairs with TV. Thanks to the owners for sharing this home!!

Recently, my best friend and I took a well-deserved vacation to Gettysburg, PA. During the planning phase of the vacation, we looked at many places to lodge at during our stay. Gettysburg is a hot spot for tourist, so lodging is plentiful in the area. So why did we decide to stay at a place that is almost 30 miles away from Gettysburg? Well, if you take a look at the pictures of Cedar Hill Cottage, you will understand why. I've stayed at some very nice Hiltons and Marriotts, and even they can't compare to Cedar Hill Cottage. With a hotel, you are confined to one room, and you pay a lot more. Here, you have an entire house to move around in. The house is beautiful inside and the property is beautifully maintained and in a very quiet location. The rooms are spacious and the beds are some of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept in. Linens, cooking utensils, wireless WIFI, cleaning supplies, cable tv, and a CD system are all included. The only thing you may need to bring is your own food. I would highly recommend Cedar Hill Cottage to anyone who is looking for affordable luxury.
