Bozeman house description
Whether you're coming to Bozeman on vacation for skiing, fly fishing, hiking, whitewater rafting, or heading to Yellowstone or the many other nearby attractions, you'll find a warm welcome at IdylWest Modern Guest House, our elegantly appointed 2 BR, 2.5 BA, 2,106 sf contemporary house. Lots of people have told us the photos just don't do justice to the house and its surroundings.
IdylWest Modern Guest House is located a short 10-minute walk from Main Street, the heart of downtown Bozeman, Montana. There's room for one vehicle in the carport and several on the street, just outside the front door.
In winter, step out of your bed onto warm wool rugs covering heated floors. In summer, have a relaxing drink and grill outside on your patio.
The spacious master bedroom upstairs has a King bed and a nook for reading or sitting. It boasts a claw foot tub and a stunning glass tile shower with a bench, a large closet with luggage rack, and a 32' wall-mounted HDTV and stereo mobile phone dock. You'll be treated to stunning sunsets and sunrises from the master bedroom balcony right off the bedroom.
Your second bedroom features a Queen as well as a twin bed, a full bath with shower/tub, a large closet with luggage racks, and a stereo mobile phone dock. Both bedrooms feature premium linens, plenty of plush towels, thick, cozy comforters and extra blankets.
If you need to accommodate 7 persons, there's also a comfy Queen sofa bed in the living room right in front of a 47' flat screen HDTV and a Klipsch audio system complete with a mobile phone dock station.
WiFi is provided throughout the house, and 9-foot ceilings make for a spacious and airy feeling.
The charming gourmet kitchen features high-end, stainless steel large and small appliances, plenty of pots, pans, baking pans, utensils, and lots of extra dishes.
There's a food processor, blender, programmable coffeemaker and other small appliances for your top-shelf holiday.
There's also a generous supply of staples in the pantry, including non-perishables, herbs, spices, organic coffee, organic teas, organic sugar - much of what you'll need to get your Montana vacation started hassle-free.
And, with prior approval and a one-time fee, we will warmly welcome your dogs (up to 2). There's a fully-fenced yard for your four-legged friends' safety and enjoyment, and Cooper Park is just 3 blocks away, a large leash-free neighborhood park. At the far east end of Oak Street, just a 10 minutes' drive away, is the larger regional park, which has two large two ponds for your dogs' enjoyment, and is also leash free!
Children are always welcome, and they'll love the games, books and DVDs especially for them. We also have a Graco Pack 'n Play crib for your convenience.
IdylWest is just 11 miles southeast of Yellowstone Bozeman International at Gallatin Field Airport. You will thoroughly enjoy fun-filled Bozeman (home of Montana State University and the Bobcats), with its boutiques, multiplex cinema, museums, symphony, rodeos, two farmer's markets, fairs, ballet, opera, professional as well as community live theater, unique cultural and arts center, art galleries, parks, bike trails and great casual and upscale restaurants. It also boasts the large shops and grocery stores you're used to shopping in.
In August every year, Bozeman goes all out for its Sweet Pea Festival. People come from all over to enjoy the artists' exhibits and booths, food kiosks, Shakespeare in the Park, live music and dance, sweet pea growing and poster competitions, hands-on crafts area, activities and entertainment for the children, and much more.
In winter, the annual community Christmas Stroll enchants everyone, complete with outdoor food booths, street as well as indoor entertainment and exhibits, and art fair. Children will delight at, and can accompany Santa on his sleigh, who lights the Christmas lights along Main Street. They can then join him for photos inside the historic Baxter Hotel on Main Street, to the accompaniment of the Bozeman Symphonic Choir's Christmas carols.
Bozeman is the home of Montana State University and the Bobcats, where an authentic Pow Wow takes place every spring, complete with a parade, rodeo and exhibitions. It also hosts the Bobcats' football, volleyball, basketball games, and many other cultural and educational events. Have a look at the AllBozeman website.
If fly fishing is on your agenda, cast for blue ribbon trout on the Madison, Gallatin or Yellowstone rivers, or you can book a white water rafting trip or just take some tubes (you can rent tubes or rafts nearby) and float lazily down them. And there's always a visit to the world-famous geyser, Old Faithful, in Yellowstone National Park, about an hour-and-a-half away.
For world-class nordic or cross-country skiing, you're just 30 minutes from Bridger Bowl and Bohart Ranch (cross-country), and about 75 minutes from Big Sky, Moonlight Basin and Lone Peak Mountain ski resorts.
There are over 50 well-groomed hiking trails around Bozeman, many within a short drive (we can provide directions to all of them, including an assessment of difficulty). There are also extensive biking trails throughout Bozeman for you to enjoy.
In the small town of Gallatin Gateway just 12 miles away, you can tour a well-preserved one-room school house - the Little Bear School House Museum - or eat at the famous Stacey's Steak House, where Ted Turner can sometimes be spotted having a beer and enjoying the live music on weekends. His own 'Ted's Grill' is also located on Main Street in downtown Bozeman.
Near Four Corners, about 7 miles away, you'll find the famous Bozeman Hot Springs, boasting 9 soaking pools, including an olympic-sized swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gym, spa and yoga, pilates and fitness classes. Also near Four Corners is a kart racing arena for the whole family to enjoy.
We are Charles Ervin and Graciela Marin, and we bought IdylWest in early summer of 2013. We had lived in Gallatin Gateway, a small town 13 miles southwest of Bozeman for the previous 9 years and had a successful vacation rental there.
We moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in April but Charles' line of work will have him transitioning a bit slower from Montana and since he is fanatical about skiing (3 great areas close by) it just made sense buy a house where we could stay during his sojourns back to ski. The next logical step was to make it a successful vacation rental again!
During your booking process you'll talk with Marissa who, together with Paul, takes good care of managing the home and bookings. These fine folks will be available to make sure your stay is everything you want it to be.
Book today! Given today's economy, IdylWest Modern Guest House is your money-saving alternative to a hotel.

What a terrific opportunity to stay at Idyl West Guest House! Not a detail has been missed! Everything from the "green" renovation, relaxing patio and garden, upscale amenities to the extremely comfortable beds and surroundings! Our golden, Bentley, was in heaven with all the opportunities to walk in the neighborhood as well as hanging out on the patio! We only wish we would have been able to stay longer to enjoy more of Bozeman and all that it has to offer! Thanks Marissa for a wonderful stay! We look forward to coming back soon!

Fantastic House and Great Location
Fantastic House and Great Location
Bozeman Cottage was a welcome oasis for us as my son settled into his first year at MSU. It is beautifully designed, inside and out, maximizing its deceptively tiny footprint. The house is homey yet modern and was outfitted with thoughtful touches for anything you want to see and do around Bozeman (a pair of fishing waders in the closet are just asking to be used!). The location is fantastic, too...a casual walk to Main Street for a morning bagel and tea (through a nice neighborhood) and close proximity to campus made this the perfect spot. We really enjoyed our stay and will think of Bozeman Cottage first, for future visits.

Very convenient location- comfortable and spacious
Very convenient location- comfortable and spacious
My husband and I stayed here for the first time recently and had a lovely stay. The house is clean, comfortable and very spacious (3 stories) and is in a fabulous location. It is walking distance (less than 5 minutes!) from Peet's Hill and very near to downtown dining and shops, yet it is very quiet, in a private-feeling tranquil setting. There is outdoor seating on an upstairs deck and in the garden. I highly recommend this house - 2 couples could stay here with ease and privacy, or there is plenty of space for a family. A great home base from which to enjoy Bozeman and surrounding areas.

About the owner: The Gallatin Valley captured us with its rugged, wild, landscape and majestic mountain views. You can truly experience why it's called Big Sky Country. Although we've left Montana, we bought IdylWest Modern Guest House in downtown Bozeman so we could have a place to stay when we visited and could also offer others a place to stay in this fabulous town. Our excellent property managers, Paul House and Marissa Brunetto, will welcome you warmly, and we're sure you'll relish this spacious, quiet space to unwind and enjoy the surrounding mountains and scenery, as well as the excitement of being right in the heart of Bozeman.
Why the Owner Chose Bozeman:
We chose this unique, contemporary home because it's near all the exciting things to do in Bozeman, yet it sits quietly in a tree-lined neighborhood. An added feature is the famous Bozeman Hot Springs and Spa, just seven miles away: a first-class spa with an olympic-size swimming pool, another outdoor heated pool, hot, warm and cold soaking pools, sauna and steam room and full gym. A wonderfully indulgent way to spend a Sunday morning, or to cap off your day outdoors. Open at 6 am most mornings and closed Fridays sunset until Sunday morning. http://www.bozemanhotsprings.co/hours-location/ Downtown Bozeman has great small shops, first-class restaurants, live theatre, movies, art galleries, concerts, jazz, local musicians, museums, MSU football and basketball games, opera, ballet, weekly Music on Main in the summer, monthly Arts Walks, and the exciting yearly Sweet Pea Arts Festival the first weekend of August, which celebrates the magnificent summers in our Valley, and so much more.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Catch prize blue ribbon trout at several public accesses along the Gallatin River just a few miles away, ski three downhill and two cross country ski resorts, hike in an area replete with well-groomed hiking trails, and bike the extensive trails in Bozeman itself. It's a short 30 minutes to Bridger Bowl, 60 minutes to Big Sky ski resort, another 35 minutes to Yellowstone Park AND the relaxing, luxurious Bozeman Hot Springs and Spa is just 12 miles away! As for IdylWest itself, the house feels both warm and cozy and spacious and modern at the same time. We love the outdoor living space which, with its bushes, flowers and even strawberries, gives you a feeling of being in nature while at the same time you're right in a city neighborhood.
