Many of our guests have told us the photos just don't do justice to the house and the views.
Three ski resorts are within easy distance, and you'll have two private fishing accesses to the Gallatin River right across the road.
In Winter, step out of your bed onto lambskin rugs covering heated floors. This vacation home is Energy Star certified: so energy efficient that an air exchanger continually replaces stale air with fresh for your comfort. Our well is 160' deep: fresh, clean water. You won't have to buy bottled water.
In Summer, have a relaxing drink and dine outside to the sounds of nature, enjoying spectacular mountain views.
The master bedroom has a 4-poster Queen bed, and your second bedroom features twin beds, all with premium linens (choice of flannel in the winter) and thick, cozy comforters and extra blankets.
If you need to sleep 6, there's a Queen sofa bed in the living room, with a Jotul 'wood' stove, a flat screen, satellite HDTV, a stereo system (including IPod/smart phone hookups) and WiFi. 9-foot ceilings make for a spacious feeling throughout.
Double sinks in the bathroom mean less waiting time. The deep tub/shower has a handy, detachable shower head, and the commode sits in a separate alcove.
Our gourmet kitchen features high-end, stainless steel large and small appliances, plenty of pots, pans, baking pans, utensils, and lots of extra dishes. There's a bread maker, food processor, blender, slo-cooker, programmable coffeemaker and other small appliances for a top-notch holiday.
You'll also find a generous supply of staples, including herbs, spices, organic coffee, organic teas, organic sugar - much of what you'll need to get your Montana vacation started hassle-free.
You can bring up to 2 dogs, with prior approval, compliance with our Dog Agreement and a one-time fee. There's a fully-fenced yard for their safety and enjoyment.
Children are always welcome, and they'll love the games, toys, books and videos especially for them, as well as the fire pit in the yard for evening fires and 'smores. We also have a crib for your convenience.
Rivers to Peaks vacation rental is located just 12 miles from Bozeman, Montana, in the historic and quaint sawmill town of Gallatin Gateway, which is so named for its accessibility to the West entrance of Yellowstone National Park. It is also the entrance to the beautiful Gallatin Canyon, along which the Gallatin River winds its way spectacularly toward Big Sky and Yellowstone Park.
Our spacious guest house sits on over 32 acres of grazing meadows just 12 miles southwest of both the Yellowstone Bozeman International - Gallatin Field Airport and fun-filled Bozeman (home of Montana State University), with its boutiques, multiplex cinema, museums, symphony, rodeos, ballet, opera, live theater, cultural center, art galleries, and great casual and upscale restaurants. It also boasts the shops you're used to shopping at, and large grocery stores.
In August every year, Bozeman goes all out for its Sweet Pea Festival. People come from all over to enjoy the artists' exhibits, food kiosks, Shakespeare in the Park, live music and dance, sweet pea growing and poster competitions, hands-on crafts area, activities and entertainment for the children, and much more.
In winter, the annual community Christmas Stroll enchants everyone, complete with outdoor food booths, street and indoor entertainment and exhibits, and Santa on his sleigh, accompanied by the children, lighting the Christmas lights along Main Street, then being available for photos in the historic Baxter Hotel on Main Street.
Bozeman is the home of Montana State University, where an authentic Pow Wow takes place every Spring, complete with parade and rodeo. It also hosts football and basketball games, and many other cultural and educational events. Have a look at the AllBozeman website.
But YOU'LL spend your evenings and sleep in the quiet countryside, surrounded by cattle and horses, and in the company of a wide array of wildlife: elk, deer, moose, eagles, hawks, coyotes, foxes, sand-billed cranes, osprey, pheasants, quail, beaver, rabbits, prairie dogs, and lots more.
You'll be treated to mesmerizing sunsets and sunrises from both the living room and kitchen, and feast your eyes on the undulating foothills, the Spanish Peaks and Bridger Range, and the Gallatin National Forest.
There's plenty of room for parking up to three vehicles and one recreational vehicle just outside the front door.
If fly fishing is on your agenda, cast for blue ribbon trout, white water raft on the Gallatin, or float on the Madison, Missouri or Yellowstone Rivers by day (we have a great double mattress for this, or you can rent inner tubes nearby), or visit the famous geyser, Old Faithful, in Yellowstone National Park, just 90 minutes away. Then come home to a meal you've time-baked in the oven or crock pot.
After dinner, walk a few yards into the woods across our country road and fish the Gallatin River for prize trout from your choice of 2 private accesses. Or drive two minutes along the river to one of three public fishing bridges to laze on the beach, fish, or take a dip.
For world-class nordic or cross-country skiing, you're equidistant from Big Sky, Moonlight Basin, Bridger Bowl, Lone Peak Mountain, and Bohart Ranch ski resorts, or you can stay home and cross-country ski, snowshoe, or walk our meadows or road.
There are over 50 well-groomed hiking trails around Bozeman, many within a short drive (we have directions to all of them, including an assessment of difficulty).
Right in Gateway you can tour a well-preserved one-room school house - the Little Bear School House Museum - or eat at the famous Stacey's Steak House, where Ted Turner can sometimes be spotted having a beer and enjoying the live music. And right across the street is the Post Office Pizza.
Near Four Corners, less than 6 miles away, you'll find the famous Bozeman Hot Springs, boasting 9 soaking pools, including an olympic- sized swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gym, spa and fitness classes (be sure to ask us if we have a free pass). There's also a kart racing arena for the whole family to enjoy.
Book today! In today's economy, Rivers to Peaks is your money-saving and spacious alternative to a hotel.

We have come to expect the best when we rent from VRBO but the “Rivers to Peak” rental has surpassed all expectations. It was the little things that made this house feel more like a home; the fresh eggs, the close proximity to the river, the beautiful mountain scenery, the comfortable furnishings and the friendly owners. We stayed for the month of August and the month flew by before we knew it. Bill went fishing many times and the closeness to Yellowstone made it an easy drive. We will definitely return. Excellent location, not very far from Bozeman, yet so close to Gallatin River so you can enjoy the mountain view all around, hear the sound of the river. The house is very nice and clean, all that you need is there. The owners provided information and contacts for all type of possibilities and what to do, they were very friendly and helpful. We had great relaxing time. The property is pet friendly and is all fenced up, so it was safe for our dog, Sonia to spend time outside without us being worried about her safety. The location is convenient for all kinds of activities - sightseeing ( close to Yellowstone National Park); fishing; water rafting, hiking, horseback riding.Did you find this review helpful? This is a fabulous place to stay and the location is wonderful. This property exceeded our expectations across the board. The cabin is well equipped with every modern convenience and kitchen/cleaning supplies are plentiful. The cabin was immaculate. The owners are close, but are friendly, helpful, accommodating and certainly not intrusive. I highly recommend this property and look forward to future visits.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities.

It is difficult to describe how beautiful this vacation home is, or to express the joy of staying at Rivers to Peaks. I stayed at R2P for two months during my transition/move to the Bozeman area, and the memories at R2P will be with me forever. While the home is fully equipped, perfectly designed, and is in one of the most amazing settings - the actual "experience" of staying at R2P is unrivaled. My family has utilized VRBO for weekly vacation rentals for several years now - Aspen, Vail, Steamboat Springs, Breckenridge - but we have never stayed at such a warm and beautiful place. Rivers to Peaks isn't just a "vacation home" - it's a way of life - honored and provided by Graciela and Charles. The property and surrounding area is filled with horses, deer, fowl, scenery and serenity - but is embodied by a sense of comfort and feeling of "home" by the hosts. These folks are well aware of your needs, and go above and beyond all necessary means of providing an exquisite experience and stay. From the fresh organic eggs and vegetables offered, to the desire to make the visit as comfortable as possible, you will never find a more welcoming experience. I would strongly recommend R2P as a VRBO "home;" for your short, or long term stay. Just be sure to wave twice for every wave you receive from the hosts - when you leave, you will miss the "home," the setting, and most importantly the hospitality you will receive.Recommended for: Pet owners, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.
Owner response: Although we strive to make their stay as comfortable and memorable as possible, Charles and I are always a bit surprised by the kudos in reviews we get from our guests. Honestly, folks, we do not coach or bribe them. We just treat them in the same manner we would like to be hosted. And in the three years we have been operating, we have never had to complain of our guests. From groups of bachelors, singles, to families, they have always cared for Rivers to Peaks as if it were their own home. The advice to treat others as you yourself would like to be treated apparently has rewards. Graciela and Charles

Fellow Humans, I had the wonderful pleasure of staying in this spectacular place for most of last winter. The house is better appointed with furniture, cooking equipment, beds, and living room essentials (and luxuries) than any other vacation property I have ever seen, truly. And the owners are tremendously welcoming and considerate. I needed time to myself, for example, and that's just what they gave me, respecting my privacy. If I ever needed anything, they were readily available and responsive. For example, the stereo went on the blink -- so they just bought a new stereo. It's the kind of property owners they are, taking great pride in the place. In addition, the cabin -- and the pictures don't do it justice -- is wonderfully comfortable. The views from the cabin are of the dramatic Spanish Peaks. One of my favorite things to do was drink wine, look at the view, and watch the many animals, like deer, walk by every day. There are also two very interesting restaurants just a short drive away. One is a "cowboy" bar attached to a very good steak place. The other is located in a restored train station, an upscale restaurant and bar with delicious food. And, of course, Bozeman is only a short, beautiful drive away. This is also a fabulous place for the winter as well. For skiing, there are two major ski resorts within very close driving distance. And it's very nice to return to the cabin each night to escape the hustle and bustle of ski resort towns and hotels. Of course, the summers couldn't be more beautiful than in this area of Bozeman, and the Falls are especially beautiful with the aspens. In short, this is a fabulous place, one that I recommend as highly as I can. You will not be disappointed.Recommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.
Owner response: It is indeed our pleasure to also provide short-term havens . We have done our best to make Rivers to Peaks as comfortable and hassle-free as possible. We treat it as part of our home, as it surely is, and are so pleased when our guests thoroughly enjoy their stay. Thank you for your vote of confidence!

THE GOLD IS THE COLOR OF THE GUEST HOUSE UNDER THE STUNNING MONTANA SUNSET! THE HILLS SURROUNDE THE GOLD! THIS HOUSE WAS PERFECT FOR WIFE, THREE KIDS, THE DOG AND ME. EVERYTHING WAS NEW OR IN NEW CONDITION. THE VIEW OUT THE WINDOW WAS FABULOUS BUT WHO WANTED TO LOOK OUT - WE WENT OUT - ALL DAY EVERY DAY! THE LOCATION WAS RIGHT IN THE CENTER OF EVERYTHING. BOZEMAN THIS WAY. YELLOWSTONE THAT WAY. SHOPPING AND SPAS FOR THE 3 GIRLS, UNMATCHED TROUT FISHING FOR THE LAD AND ME. SCENERY EVERYWHERE! FENCED IN YARD FOR THE DOG (OR SMALL CHILDREN.) THE LANDLORDS WERE INVISIBLE UNLESS WE NEEDED SOMETHING OR STROLLED DOWN THE LANE TO CHEW THE FAT. ONE DAY I COMMENTED HOW WE LIKE OUTDOOR FIRES AT HOME - THE NEXT MORNING A VERY NICE COLLEGE GUY WAS BUILDING A FIRE PIT WITH AN ATTACHED GRILL IN THE YARD! HE EVEN USED A LEVEL. NEVER MIND THERE IS A NICELY EQUIPPED GAS UNIT AT HAND! TOP NOTCH FLY FISHING WAS UP THE VALLEY IN BIG SKY WITH "GALLATIN RIVER GUIDES." OUR GUIDE, BOB, TREATED US AND THE FISH LIKE WE WERE HIS CHILDREN - TASTY LUNCHES AND INSTRUCTIONS ON HANDLING FISH FOR PICTURES. AT THE MADISON MY SON HAD A HUGE TROUT ON THAT STRIPPED ALL HIS LINE AND THEN PARTED WAYS. FROM A NONDESCRIPT MEADOW SLUICE HE LANDED AN 18" RAINBOW. WE WERE THE HEROES OF ONE GALLATIN WHITE WATER FLOAT TRIP 'CAUSE WE WERE LANDING FISH AS THEY SPLASHED BY. BOB COACHED US WELL AS WE CONTINUED TO LAND FISH AT WILL AFTER HIS THREE DAYS WERE UP. HE TAUGHT US ALL THE SECRETS OF THE SECRET SPOTS. WE HAD MOST OF OUR OWN EQUIPMENT EXCEPT FOR RODS, LINE AND FLIES THOUGH THEY ARE A COMPLETE OUTFITTER. I SAW THREE GUYS DRIVE UP, GET OUT OF THEIR SUV WITH NOTHING AND GO FISHING. WHEN THEY RETURNED, AS WE CHILLED AFTER OUR DAY, THEY LAUGHED AND SPOUTED FISHING TALES AND SLAPPED EACH OTHER ON THE BACKS, THANKED THEIR GUIDE, GOT IN THEIR SUV AND DROVE OFF INTO THE SUNSET. THE YELLOW BUS TOUR OF YELLOWSTONE WAS ALL THAT IT IS ADVERTISED. OUR DRIVER, TIM, HAS BEEN DOING THE LOOPS FOR 40 YEARS! I SAT SHOTGUN AND WE TRADED SARCASTIC BARBS FOR THE ENTIRE TRIP MUCH TO THE ENJOYMENT OF THE OTHER PASSENGERS AND AN INITIAL EMBARRASSMETN TO MY FAMILY. A FAMILY COULD LAND IN BOZEMAN WITH ONLY SUITCASES, RENT A CAR, FLOP DOWN IN THIS CABIN, AND FISH AND SIGHTSEE 'TILL THE END OF TIME (MAYBE DEC. 21 2012? LOL) WHY, THERE WERE EVEN SPICES AND SOME CONDIMENTS AVAILABLE. BEST VACATION EVER DESPITE TRANSMISSION IN VAN FRYING IN MINN. ON WAY OUT. LOLRecommended for: Girls getaway, pet owners, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities.

My husband and I recently spent 5 days at Rivers to Peaks. We chose this property because of it's location- close to Bozeman but out in the country with easy access to the Gallatin River for fishing. It is rare to rent a cabin that exceeds expectations but this one certainly did. The views were fabulous! 180 degree views of the mountains from the living room and the kitchen, deer in the yard every day, a peaceful setting. The kitchen was very well-equipped - we cooked most dinners at home and I can't think of a kitchen item I wanted that wasn't available (and had I needed something, Graciela would have brought whatever I needed from her own kitchen). The entire cabin was VERY clean and tastefully furnished- with comfy pillows and beds, fluffy towels, etc. The pictures are a good representation of the cabin - but, as I said, it exceeded expectations across the board. We floated the Yellowstone on a fly fishing trip, fished the Gallatin, did sightseeing in Livingston and Bozeman, took some local hikes - I would recommend this cabin to anyone going to the area- it is centrally located for outdoors activities and close enough to Bozeman that driving in for a meal or shopping is convenient.Recommended for: Pet owners, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We spent 2 weeks at this clean and fabulously well maintained cabin and it has all the amenities as described. The owners are extremely responsive to any requests (their home is on the property). The peace and beauty of this location with neighboring horses, mountain views and the private Gallitan River access across the road and public access within 2 miles, made this a fisherman's dream. We brought our dog and the fenced yard is huge. The cabin is just a few miles from trail heads for hiking in the Gallitan National Forest( try Indian Ridge and Lava Lake), and is on the route to Big Sky(try hikes higher in the Moon Bowl) and the West entrance toYellowstone Park.We found the 12 mile ride into Bozeman downtown fast and easy, and attended many in-town activities including the Sat. Farmer's and Crafts market, the Thursday night Music on Main concerts, the art walk, the Emerson art and restaurant complex and eating at the many excellent restaurants. Downtown Bozeman is charming and welcoming and the tickets to live theater are reasonable ($15. for Oklahoma!) The upper and lower Madison River (you can float on the lower Madison, and have excellent trout fishing on the Upper Madison) is about an hour away. We hired a guide for 3 boat trips for fly fishing on the Upper Madison and it was fantastic! While our stay seemed longer than others in the guest book, comments by past visitors for even 2-3 day stays all indicated that they too had loved this charming cabin, and had found it as comfortable in the winter when skiing was available, as in the summer (we were there in July). We would go back in a heartbeat, and recommend it to all.Recommended for: Pet owners, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers.

"Can we live here?" was what two of my kids kept asking during our stay in June 2011. I often wondered it, too, as will you. The cabin is spacious, homey, and impeccably clean. The owners have put so much thought and care, time and effort, into providing basically everything you would need or want. The view is magnificent, the setting serene, the space environmentally-friendly. The owners accomodated our changing schedule with no qualms and even let our kids play with their dogs. Whenever we travel to Bozeman to visit our family, we will stay here. Thank you, thank you, thank you.Recommended for: Pet owners, age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing, families with young children, families with teenagers, people with disabilities.
Owner response: Since these guests were here, we've added a firepit with a grill, which our current guests have raved about. They've enjoyed s'mores under star-studded skies.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: We moved to the Gallatin Valley after being captured by the rugged, wild, landscape, the four blocks of downtown Gallatin Gateway, and the majestic mountain views. Both our home and the guest house sit on 32 acres of grazing meadows in rural Gallatin Gateway, the entry to the Gallatin Canyon and West Yellowstone Park. Our Golden Retriever, Ziji, and we both all look forward to welcoming you. You'll relish a restful, spacious, quiet space to unwind and enjoy the surrounding wildlife and scenery.
Why the Owner Chose Bozeman:
We chose this unique, remote corner of Gallatin Valley because the property sits in an open, wide area, with vast vistas of mountains and hills on all sides. We are delighted by the wildlife, and are sure you will be too: horses grazing the pastures, graceful sand-billed cranes, geese, bald eagles, red-tailed hawks, white-tail deer, red foxes, coyotes, beavers, gophers, pheasants, partridge and many other species of birds, rabbits, elk, the occasional moose and bear. We've even had a llama in the neighborhood, and miniature horses. Never know what's going to show up!
An added feature is the famous Bozeman Hot Springs and Spa, just six miles away: a first-class spa with an olympic-size swimming pool, another outdoor heated pool, hot, warm and cold soaking pools, sauna and steam room and full gym. A wonderfully indulgent way to spend a Sunday morning, or to cap off your day outdoors. Open at 6 am most mornings http://www.bozemanhotsprings.co/hours-location/
Then there's Bozeman, only 12 miles! Great small shops downtown, first-class restaurants, theatre, movies, art galleries, concerts, jazz, local musicians, museums, MSU football and basketball games, opera, ballet, weekly Music on Main in the Summer, monthly Arts Walks, the exciting yearly Sweet Pea Arts Festival the first weekend of August, which celebrates the magnificent Summers in our Valley, and so much more.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Catch prize blue ribbon trout from two PRIVATE accesses to the Gallatin River just across our road, with an additional three public fishing bridges nearby. We're situated equidistant from three downhill and two cross country ski resorts, at the mouth of the breathtaking Gallatin Canyon, an area replete with well-groomed hiking trails. You can walk, cross-country ski, or snowshoe on our property, let the children and dogs safely play in the creek and within the fenced yard, and enjoy the horses and cattle in the pastures year-round.
It's 40 minutes to Big Sky, another 35 minutes to Yellowstone Park, and both downtown Bozeman and Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport are just 14 miles away. AND, the relaxing, luxurious Bozeman Hot Springs and Spa is literally seven minutes away!
