Had an excellent time here! Steve's cabin was very clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere, especially hanging out by the fireplace. Short drive to Northstar and Alpine Meadows. Very close to the water, would like to come back in the summer! Perfect place for a quiet getaway, would highly recommend!

Great Family Retreat

Guest: KAB (Rocklin, CA)
Date of Stay: 09/01/11 Review Submitted: 09/10/11

We had an absolutely fabulous time here at Steve's "Old-Tahoe-Style" retreat. Steve was so helpful with directions, area amenities and even with an e-mail prior to our trip with a weather update. Everything needed was thought out from fully stocked kitchen to beach mats and chairs. The kids and adults alike had great fun playing badminton on the sand volleyball court. The kids were so excited about the bunk beds and attic loft they couldn't decide where they wanted to sleep. There was plenty of room for the four adults and three kids. A great family getaway home.

Three generations of our family enjoyed our stay in this lovely cabin.

Guest: Debbie (Hanford, CA)
Date of Stay: 08/05/11 Review Submitted: 08/26/11

We found our way to the cabin with ease using the directions the owners provided to us. There was plenty of paved parking for our group. We thoroughly enjoyed the decks and spent the majority of our time there on the deck when not out on excursions. The kitchen was well stocked with pans and everything needed to prepare meals. The condition of the cabin and furnishings was very good, and the provided bed linens felt clean and in good condition, as were the towels. The kitchen and bathrooms were very clean when we arrived, which is very important to us. There were seven adults for part of our stay and we all fit just fine. The was a whole binder full of information provided by the owners on places of interest and things to do. The owners were very responsive to any and all of our questions, we would highly recommend this cabin if it is in an area that you would like to stay in.

THE PERFECT RENTAL HOME

Guest: Marion C. (marin county)
Date of Stay: 07/16/11 Review Submitted: 08/08/11

It is not an easy search for the perfect rental cabin. However this cozy cabin has the renters comfort in mind and I must say the owners have built the perfect retreat! Entertainment area for adults a big plus, game area for the kids, great kitchen which is fully stocked with cooking pots, pans and utensils. A plus - cooking with the entire family is easy - plenty of room! Comfortable beds and plenty of sleeping arrangements for at least 9-10 people. This cabin is the quietest place at night I have ever rented and centrally located well back from the road. The outdoor bad-mitten court area kept the children entertained the entire week. A plus, it is viewable from the entertainment area inside the home! Grandparents, parents and grand children thoroughly enjoyed this cabin - it got rave reviews from all the family. We will return to this cabin again. After renting many cabins over the years, this one stands out and is can not go wrong choice!

Great experience renting this property!

Guest: Leslie (Redondo Beach, CA)
Date of Stay: 06/30/11 Review Submitted: 08/09/11

My family and I had an excellent time visiting this Tahoe home over the 4th of July holiday weekend. The house is very well kept, and the owner is very easy to deal with. I would absolutely return to this property or recommend it to any friend. The location is really fantastic. You can get most places around the lake very easily. We had six adults in the house, and there was plenty of room. The kitchen is well stocked with supplies to cook at the house. The owner also gives some great information on local favorite spots around Tahoe to eat, etc. There are also some fantastic trails to hike up behind the house - what a beautiful way to start each morning! I highly recommend renting this home on your next vacation.

Relax in North Tahoe

Guest: DJ (Westminster)
Date of Stay: 06/19/11 Review Submitted: 07/05/11

Our family had a great time at this cabin. Great location in North Tahoe, very near Carnelian Bay and King's Beach. Not all that far from Squaw Valley either. We appreciated the great patio decks and volleyball/badminton net. Our kids enjoyed exploring the cabin. The Agate Bay neighborhood was great for walking. The only problem we had was that we had to go back home again!

The cabin was cozy and clean with a beautiful fireplace. Everything seemed new, and there was a great attention to detail evident throughout. Our 3 year old especially loved one of the little upstairs bedrooms, it was the perfect size:). Also The BBQ was nice. The owner was great to work with, very clear and provided lots of useful information. There was a great sledding spot a short walk away. Close to town: food & shopping. Would definitely recommend!

Great Place to Stay!

Guest: EK (Santa Cruz, CA)
Date of Stay: 02/24/11 Review Submitted: 03/09/11

The cabin was very clean and cozy! We had 4 adults, 2 toddlers and 2 babies stay at the cabin and had plenty of room. The bunkbed room was great for my son and his friend to have their first "sleepover" - they loved it! The adults enjoyed playing games by the fire at night. I love the dining area - we sat at that table and watched the snow fall - it was so beautiful! On Friday it snowed all day long, so we got to play in the snow and sled down the driveway - it was so much fun! Went to Squaw Valley for lunch and took the gondola up to the top and let the kids play for a while, they loved the ride up and down! We thought an extended weekend would be a long enough stay, but there are things we didn't get to do so, we will have to stay longer next time! Thank you for letting us rent your cabin, both families had great time!!!

Cozy & Clean Cabin

Guest: Budding Skiers (Campbell, CA)
Date of Stay: 02/21/11 Review Submitted: 02/24/11

Thank you for allowing us to stay at your house. We had a great time. We rented the cabin twice and both times were greeted with a very clean and well stocked home. The owners provided many little things that were greatly appreciated - ie dishwashing soap, paper towels, extra toilet paper, lots of toiletries, and a very well stocked pantry for anything that was forgotten. There was plenty of firewood and the flannel sheets were greatly appreciated for the cold winter nights! The driveway is definitely very tricky to get up and park, even with AWD. During both of our visits, the driveway was very icy which made it difficult to maneuver through. It was a tight fit for two cars up at the top. The owners provided a great book that had recommendations for places to eat, rent, sled, and things to do. The kids absolutely loved the little igloo that was built on the side of the house. That was an added bonus!

Owner response:Thank you for the comments: we have talked with the plow service to extend plowing area to the full size of the driveway which easily parks 4 cars.

Guest: Lauren (San Francisco)

Visited Tahoe with 4 couples to celebrate my birthday in February. Had the BEST time at this cabin. Steve was a pleasure to deal with, and the home was cozy and clean, and the owners' attention to detail is evident in every room. Was nothing like a "typical rental home" - all decorations and furniture are updated, comfortable, and modern. The gas BBQ was great to have, and we all loved siting around the fire at night playing cards. The house had everything we could possible need and I would most definitely rent it again for a trip up to the lake - it is simply wonderful! Thanks again Steve.

Great Winter Weekend in Tahoe

Guest: Kristy (Hanford, CA)
Date of Stay: 01/21/11 Review Submitted: 02/02/11

We rented this cabin on a January weekend and had a wonderful time! The cabin was clean, cozy and comfortable. There was plenty of firewood available for a roaring fire to stay warm. Also, the selection of board games kept us entertained in the evenings. The cabin is perfectly located close to plenty of restaurants and skiing. We rented skis from Tahoe Dave's in Tahoe City which was on the way to Alpine Meadows. The owners provided an excellent book with great recommendations on local restaurants and other activities in the area. We definitely plan to rent this cabin again!

Owner response:Thanks for being such great guests!

sledding fun

Guest: familycircus (Santa Rosa, California)
Date of Stay: 01/07/11 Review Submitted: 01/16/11

A warm cozy fireplace, abundance of wood and beautiful wintery icicles hanging 4-5 ft long over the deck set the tone for a very enjoyable family weekend. The sleeping accomodations were exactly as the pictures show. Everything you need is included, with the exception of a blow dryer. We did find that funny since our group had 4 women all bringing curling irons and no blow dryer. A special surpise was the little igloo built right off the back of the house. The adult men loved shoveling a path to the igloos and squealed with delight to see a little bench inside. The driveway is a bit tricky if you don't have 4 wheel drive, but I personally think that is a necessity if you are going to the snow, so no big deal. Overall this was a lovely experience and we hope to go back in the summer when we could enjoy the decks and the lake access.

Perfect cabin retreat

Guest: Jean (Las Vegas, NV)
Date of Stay: 12/23/10 Review Submitted: 01/10/11

This cabin is everything described - and more! As a winter holiday retreat for our family - 6 adults(grandparents, parents), 2 kids and dog - gathering from both coasts this cabin was perfection. Clean and open kitchen, cozy fireplace, separate TV/game room, neighborhood setting amid trees. The helpful owners made us feel welcome. No detail was overlooked. They responded to all our concerns and even left our kids a snow igloo in the yard! Loved Alpine Meadows for downhill, Rosie's in Tahoe City for big breakfasts, X-C ski rentals from Dave's - we skied from right outside the cabin door. We recommend this property unreservedly. Would return in a heartbeat!

Great family escape!

Guest: Erin (Davis, CA)
Date of Stay: 11/25/10 Review Submitted: 12/26/10

We spent Thanksgiving here with 4 adults, one teenager, a baby and two dogs and the place was perfect. There was plenty of room for everyone and lots of cozy nooks for more sleepers if our group had been larger. The kitchen was well-stocked and the rooms clean and simple yet tastefully furnished and uncluttered. We especially loved that it was so near the snowshoe trails of the national forest (about a 5 minute walk) which meant we didn't have to drive anywhere to enjoy the newly fallen snow. We also really appreciated how communicative the owners were prior to our stay - they provided trail maps, lists of their favorite restaurants, sledding hills, etc. and answered numerous questions promptly over email. We'd highly recommend this home to friends and hope we get a chance to come back again!

Girls Weekend x8

Guest: Lauren (San Francisco, CA)
Date of Stay: 09/30/10 Review Submitted: 10/06/10

Myself and 7 girlfriends all took over this adorable cabin for a long weekend (4 days). It was perfectly sized for the 8 of us that had carry on's and few plans other than hanging out -- having not seen eachother together in a year. There was plenty of seating in the main room for us to congregate, we all sat around the table for dinner and enjoyed taking turns cooking in the small-but-open kitchen, so as not to take ourselves away from the social nature of the evening. Though many of us bunked up and shared beds, we were perfectly comfortable as 8 w/ sleeping accommodations. The kitchen was very well stocked (i was shocked, actually!) and organized w/ labels for our convenience. Sheets were ready on the beds when we arrived and towels all hung for our use. There were games and ample firewood for our use too! (good thing, b/c we had one rainy night) The location was super convenient for our treks about Tahoe, w/ Tahoe City close (safeway, shops, restaurants) and being just off the beaten path for ease in getting around in either direction. It was easy to find from the Reno Airport too. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and also return w/ the same or different guests.

The cabin was clean and had all the amenities needed to make the stay pleasant, we particularly enjoyed BBQing in the evenings on the deck. We loved it and thank you so much for all the recommendations they did not disappoint maybe next time we'll visit in Winter.

The Cabin was fantastic. The outside deck is so relaxing in the AM for coffee and evenings for dinner and happy hour. So close to the Lake/Beaches and Boat Launch. So many things to do within a 20 minute drive. We had two families of 4 (College Kids) and the accomodations were just great. The owner is very organized and timely in responding. A great getaway spot at beautiful North Shore.

Boat launches were close, restaurants and groceries too. The home was clean, cozy and well furnished. There's a great selection of games for the whole family! We sat on the deck every morning in the sun drinking our coffee before heading out on the boat! The owner was absolutely wonderful with communication. He responded within hours to any inquiries and contacted us while there to make sure we were enjoying our stay. I would most certainly rent from him again. Great Summer Get Away

Date of Stay: 06/20/10 Review Submitted: 07/17/10

Wow, Fabulous, Fantastic and Relaxing! In staying at this cabin, we were able to get away from our scorching hot weather and walk into a gorgeous paradise being the cabin and Lake Tahoe. The cabin itself was great as it housed all my family perfectly. It was clean and had all makings of a home. Cabin’s interior beautifully done with great taste. Clean and inviting and the price was good. My husband wanted us to experience the “cabin feel” and here at this cabin we definitely experienced it. The home was centrally located and easily accessible to main road. The home was equipped with a barbecue grill which we used once. There were games for the whole family to use. Lots of places to sit outside and relax in. Our family got to do some hiking, fishing, horseback riding, shopping and lots of relaxing. At the end of the day, we would come home and take two hour naps which we never do at home. We stayed there for a whole week so we managed to do a lot. The owners were very friendly and punctual with emails. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone that inquires about a place to stay in Lake Tahoe. Everything about the cabin and our stay was great!!!!!

Four of us (two parents and two daughters - 20 and 17) stayed for a week in late June. The living room and fireplace are very comfortable, the dining area is fine, the decks are especially nice (including the swing bench). The location is also excellent - near enough to Tahoe City for some great restaurants. The cabin was clean and well-cared for, and the owners were responsive and gave some good advice.

House was located in quieter section of Tahoe, so fewer tourists and traffic. There is a great hiking trail a few blocks behind the house. Also close to Mt. Rose--went sledding and snowshoeing in meadow. House itself is comfy with newer furniture. Upstairs bathroom/shower quite nice, downstairs shower needs updating. Great deck, fireplace, etc. Owners quite nice.

We stayed in this wonderful cabin with our two children (3 & 6) and had an awesome time. The cabin is well appointed and cozy but has lots of style as well. The location is great and far enough off the main hwy so that you don't hear any traffic noise but are still just minute from the grocery store and other retail locations. The sleeping options are numerous and our kids loved the bunk bed arrangement but could have each had their own rooms had they wanted. We are very picky renters and had a favorite cabin in Dollar Point but this cabin has just taken its place at the top of the list. We look forward to returning this summer.

The fireplace was easy to light and there was plenty of firewood handy. The kitchen was equipped with all the utensils necessary to feed our three generations (grandparents, parents and child). Nice, quiet neighborhood and easy access to both slopes. Your beds are plentiful and very cozy. The recommendation to eat at Spindleshanks was excellent and was the only time we went out. It was a very LOVELY Thanksgiving at this cabin, which is a cozy, nicely designed and clean little shack. It has well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, lots of light and the kids had always something to do, inside or outside. Looking forward for our next stay at your place... Thanks!!
