We had a magical time at this place. The house is great and very roomy for a one bedroom. It is arranged such that two can sleep in bedroom and a guest or child can sleep on the large foldout couch in the living/dining room area. The place is very nicely furnished and cared for. The flower gardens are lovely in spring and summer, and the vegetable garden was a real treat for us. Bill is a great host. The view of the surrounding countryside is great and the place is a 15 minute walk from Shakespeare and downtown fun. The bikes are nice to as is the new, large hot-tub.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car.

We had the most wonderful stay in the cottage - everything was so comfortable and cozy for our winter stay in Ashland. We felt very much at home in the spacious and well-kept environment. Bill is most generous and his hospitality is embracing. Enjoyed the walks to town and the railroad district. Highly recommend!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, adventure seekers.

My husband and I have been coming to Ashland for the wonderful OSF plays for about 10 years now. William's Cottage is the best place we have rented for quiet, easy access to the theaters, cheerful and helpful hosts, and all around wonderful ambience. The cottage is very well maintained. We especially enjoy the complete privacy and the views of the garden and the Ashland hills. The patio provides comfortable seating and a delightful outdoor dining experience. My sister-in-law joined us for part of the visit and was quite comfortable sleeping on the sofabed. And we all enjoyed cooking together in the spacious kitchen. The theaters are a brisk walk down charming Oak Street. We can't wait to return to William's Cottage!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

my husband and i stayed here for a week in april, 2011. we cannot say enough good things about the house which was even better than the photos. it was very clean and was well maintained in the house and outdoors. i love tv and noted that the station selection was better than any other housing we've stayed in in ashland (fyi--we've gone 1-3 times a year for several years and have stayed in a variety of residences). we noted others' comments about Bill's garden and hope to return later this year to enjoy that experience. bill, the owner, was most accommodating. daily, we cooked big meals for a friend who had had a baby and if anything extra was needed from the extremely well-stocked kitchen bill assured us he'd get it and he did. if we needed anything else Bill cheerfully accommodated us in a timely fashion. i've never written a review before but did so this time so others might enjoy Bill and his rental as much as we did. for the active, my husband easily biked and walked to downtown ashland .Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, families with young children, people with disabilities.

We're been visiting Ashland for about 10 years now and this place is tops! We loved the spacious cottage, charming outdoor patio, complete privacy, and quiet nights. The cottage has a vegetable garden and guests are encouraged to gather the delicious produce - or Bill will deliver it to your door! It was lovely to wake up at night and hear only the crickets. And, in the morning, we enjoyed looking out the many picture windows at the golden hills and lovely flowers. A well-equipped kitchen made it easy and fun to save on dining out. (And we actually often preferred eating at Williams Cottage.) Bikes are provided or it's a brisk walk to OSF. Can't wait to return next year!Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

Clean place and rooms had a romantic feel about them. Cozy and yet never felt crowded. Owners were so friendly and could not have been more helpful. Made Ashland feel like home away from home. Thanks Bill--the place was just what I needed. Will be back again in Sept.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers.

About the owner: My name is Bill; my wife’s name is Cathy. We have lived in Ashland together for the last 22 years, although I've lived here since I was a child. Cathy had moved up from Glendale CA to attend Southern Oregon University to become an RN. She was working part time for the Mt. Ashland Ski Resort when we met. We fell in love, eventually married, and had three beautiful girls. Ashland has been a good place to be raising a family. Together we enjoy hikes, bike rides, swimming, skiing both water and snow, boating, rafting, fishing, and camping and more. We love the four distinct seasons, and the colorful leaves of autumn are just beginning for this season, it soon will be a sight to behold.
Why the Owner Chose Ashland:
I've been owner manager of rental properties since 1981, although this is my first vacation rental. I've been doing this for a few years now and really love sharing it with most wonderful & interesting people I had ever met. I originally purchased this home for my dad who no longer is with us but loved it very much. I also enjoy meeting new people and sharing the great experiences of what this area has to offer.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
This home is priced low and is conveniently located to downtown Ashland. We offer a large garden with organically grown foods during the growing season.
