The Boat House in Anchor Bay was the perfect place to spend the Fourth of July weekend. The house was well-equipped with a great kitchen, spacious dining/living room, and bedroom with a hot tub on the deck. The view of the ocean from the deck, surrounded by trees, was spectacular. Woke to woodpeckers chattering and the sound of the sea. It's an easy walk to the beach and the cute General Store in Anchor Bay, though be warned the climb back up the hill is a test of your endurance. A great place, highly recommended. I would definitely stay there again.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I have stayed at Boat House for my birthday for the last two years and will try to book it again this year. We LOVE that there's no internet and no cell phone reception; it's peaceful to be away from our electronic leashes. The combination of quiet redwoods, the sound of the ocean, hot tub and BBQ on a private deck are all we need or want. And there's a great little grocery at the bottom of the hill! The owner is great and the place is clean, well-maintained (nice big kitchen) and well-equipped.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway.

This place was awesome. Great house. The view was nice of the ocean and it was very private. We enjoyed our stay and will be back again.

This was a great place to unwind and relax in a peaceful, private, beautiful setting. The deck has both a great view and hot tub and we enjoyed hearing the barking seals and the ocean waves. The house had everything we needed and everything was easy to use (switch on fire, gas BBQ, etc.). Great book selection and a very comfortable bed. Nice to have a nearby beach, coffee shop and restaurants. We loved it!
