  We came here to celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary and really enjoyed our stay. The condo had very nice Hawaiian décor - we thought it was nicer than the photos showed. The view from the lanai was beautiful; we enjoyed drinking coffee in the mornings and watching the sun come up and the boats sail by. We also enjoyed watching the birds. We got to see some breath-taking sunsets and beautiful rainbows, too. The kitchen and bathroom were very nicely updated with granite and very high quality cabinetry. The kitchen had all of the supplies we needed to prepare meals. We could tell the owners had really tried to anticipate renters' needs by supplying items such as a safe, magnifying make-up mirror, laundry and dishwashing soap, etc., in addition to the usual toiletries. A washer and dryer were on our floor - just a short distance away. Parking is underneath the condo towers. The Whaler is in a fantastic location. The beach is absolutely beautiful and the water is very clear - great for snorkeling. The reef is about 15-20 feet off the beach and Black Rock is a short walk down the beach. (Be aware that there is a very strong long shore current near the tip of Black Rock; there are no life guards on duty at the beach.) They provide beach towels and you can rent snorkel, mask, fins, boogie board, cabana, beach chairs, etc. right in front of the property on the beach. Lots of activities to do here - including parasailing, stand up paddling, dinner cruises, etc. Plus, it's located next door to Whaler Village and some great restaurants. I highly recommend the Hula Grill and Barefoot Beach Café (two restaurants in one; one is more casual) and Leilani's - both had outstanding food. The Barefoot Beach cafe had live music. They both offer gluten free menus. We watched wonderful hula dance performances in Whaler's Village for free after dinner one night, while enjoying Hagen Daz ice cream. The shopping in Whaler's Village is great and there is also a food court. You can purchase a limited number of groceries and alcohol, in addition to well-priced souvenirs at the ABC Store. We bought groceries at the Safeway in nearby Lahaina. The tour groups pick up directly from the hotel. We took the Road to Hana tour (Valley Isle Excursions)and the Haleakala Sunrise and Bike tour. I highly recommend both. Overall, we loved our time here and hope to return in the future. I highly recommend this condo and The Whaler to others.

  We had an excellent stay at The Whaler. The unit has been completely updated and it's got plenty of room but you'll spend most of your time on the lanai enjoying the view of the ocean views and teh island of Molakai. If you go between October and March you can watch the humpback whales breaching and slapping their tales as you enjoy breakfast. Housekeeping services were terrific. It's nice to be able to cook and not have to clean up after yourself on vacation. The location right on Kaanapali Beach, with the Beach Walk and Whaler's Village right there, is perfect. Snorkeling at Black Rock is a must, as is a whale watching boat trip in season. The concierge staff was very helpful in recommending dining options, such as Mala Ocean Tavern in Lahaina. They can also book tee times across the street for the golfers. Maui is the "Island of the Sun" and we were treated to some stunning sunsets from The Whaler. This was our first trip to Kaanapali Beach but it could very well become an annual destination. We'll be back.

I totally agree with you - when I am on vacation, I want the availability of a full kitchen to prepare meals, but I hate to do all the cleanup. I offer my guests daily maid service to take care of the cleaning chores and allow them to fully enjoy their vacation! Of course, there are so many great restaurants nearby including Mala Ocean Tavern, that it is often a challenge to decide whether to grill up some fresh fish or steaks on the bbq and relax at the condo or to walk next door to Whaler's Village and enjoy a great meal with live entertainment on the beach at Hula Grill or Leilani's!

  This studio is spacious, immaculate, nicely decorated and fully equipped, leaving nothing to ask for. The location is excellent with restaurants, entertainment, and shopping within walking distance; yet peace and quiet prevails on your lanai or at bedtime. You may enjoy walking or jogging on the beach, the boardwalk, or on footpaths through the golf course across the road. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful, as are the resident owners we met during our stay. You can readily send those whale images on your smartphone to envious friends back home; the wireless modem is in your room giving excellent WiFi signal at all times. We appreciated the e-mail from Michele which suggested activities and dining options. The beach is excellent, not crowded, nice sandy bottom; proximity to Black Rock and a reef in front of the Whaler offers snorkeling on site. We recommend this condo without reservation.

  What a wonderful studio in the perfect location! The daily maid service and no cleaning fee was an added bonus! Free DVD and playstation rentals too! I loved sleeping with the windows open and hearing the ocean. Will surely stay here again.

  We had an amazing vacation while staying at this clean and welcoming condo in Kaanapali! The staff at the 'Whaler' were always helpful, courteous, and cheerful! The location is excellent and the pictures online are true to form. When booking our stay the owners were pleasant and very informative of the restaurants and activities around Maui; the hula pie at Leolani's was sinful! If you plan on taking a vacation to Maui make sure to hit up Leoda's in Olowalu and experience the dinner comedy show Warren and Annabelle's on Front Street. I would HIGHLY suggest staying at this condo!! You won't be disappointed. Thank you Michele for helping make another trip to Maui memorable! Mahalo Alicia

  My husband and I can't say enough about our stay in this condo... it was perfect! Spacious, immaculate, well-maintained and a central location to all the activities Michele recommended. The informational email she sent before our departure for Maui was very informative and, in addition, she was open to a telephone conversation when we had further questions. We experienced killer calamari at the Hula Grill next door and Michele's son's favorite dessert at Leilani's - Hula Pie, and breakfast (our favorite at Aloha Mixed Plate right on the ocean front as you enter Lahaina). Snorkeling with the recommended rashgard shirts to prevent sunburn (get great deals on these at Costco by the airport), we found Honolua Bay the best because it is sheltered from the wave action. Our suggestion is to rent a waist flotation device if you are not an excellent swimmer... saves energy and a lot safer. Our favorite tourist things were the Saturday market in Kahului, arts and crafts market in Lahaina by the Post Office on Sunday, Haleakala at sunrise, the Warren and Annabelle Magic Show in Lahaina, parasailing with UFO the morning of July 4 and shave ice at Ululanis (so good we had it 8 times out of the 10 days we were there!). We could not write a review without mentioning Veronitiki, our cleaning attendant. Not only did she keep everything sparkling clean, she even started the dishwasher for us. The best thing about Maui is the people we met and the stories we shared, from service people to tourists. If there was anything we could suggest, it would be to provide 2 lawn/beach chairs to sit on the grounds/beach. We are older and gave up laying on beach towels long ago! We rented two but it was inconvenient picking them up and returning them in Lahaina. Thanks, Michele, for sharing your little piece of heaven in Maui. We appreciated every detail!

  Great location to the beach and multiple activities. The listing description and photos accurately describe the rental and Michele was extremely helpful with suggestions. It was wonderful to have daily cleaning and to be able to have a full kitchen for cooking on site. Would recommend Eco-Adventure Ziplining, Leilani's fish tacos and parasailing. We had a wonderful 9 day stay! Melissa

  Excellent condo and great Maui experience! My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Whaler Inn at this condo. It was nicely updated and had all of the amenities you could want. The condo was comfortable and had a great view of the beach…always nice to have the waves lull you to sleep at night. The location at the Whaler was perfect walking distance to restaurants, shopping, the beach and snorkeling at Black Rock. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condo, and plan on booking it next year when we return to Maui for our second visit!

  We have just returned from spending a week in unit 514 and absolutely loved it! We came from The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Villas where we also had a studio and I can tell you that it was not even closed to the size of this studio. Nicely decorated, great staff from our check-in staff to the daily maid service, to the people running the beach activities stand all so friendly and willing to assist in any way. Will definitely be staying in this studio again. Mahalo Michelle!!!

  What a lovely time we had, perfect location and so lovely after the renovations. Can't believe the difference 6 months can make. We are now only staying at the Whaler from now on and this condo is situated on a quiet side with all new everything. Loved it and can't wait to return.
