Excellent condo and great Maui experience! My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at the Whaler Inn at this condo. It was nicely updated and had all of the amenities you could want. The condo was comfortable and had a great view of the beach…always nice to have the waves lull you to sleep at night. The location at the Whaler was perfect walking distance to restaurants, shopping, the beach and snorkeling at Black Rock. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condo, and plan on booking it next year when we return to Maui for our second visit!

We have just returned from spending a week in unit 514 and absolutely loved it! We came from The Westin Kaanapali Ocean Villas where we also had a studio and I can tell you that it was not even closed to the size of this studio. Nicely decorated, great staff from our check-in staff to the daily maid service, to the people running the beach activities stand all so friendly and willing to assist in any way. Will definitely be staying in this studio again. Mahalo Michelle!!!
Owner response:Thank you Terri for your kind words! So glad you enjoyed our little bit of paradise. We remodeled our unit ourselves and had fun choosing all of the furnishings and finishes. We appreciate a luxurious experience when we vacation at our condo and are happy to share the experience with our guests. We have specifically chosen Aston Hotels and Resorts as our property manager because they are onsite 24/7 and can cater to your every need. Not all of the condos at the Whaler use Aston Hotels and Resorts and there is a big difference in the guests’ vacation experience.

What a lovely time we had, perfect location and so lovely after the renovations. Can't believe the difference 6 months can make. We are now only staying at the Whaler from now on and this condo is situated on a quiet side with all new everything. Loved it and can't wait to return.

I would love to give my thoughts on this Unit at The Whaler in Kaanapali Beach Maui, my husband and I have just returned from the most amazing holiday over there. I have no hesitation in recommending this Unit, it is large and spacious, the bed is so so comfy, and the kitchen is so modern and has everything to cover all your needs, the bathroom is lovely with heaps of room, the decor is great and the cleaning of this unit was a++. The Balcony is large with a high table and bar stools for having drinks on the balcony overlooking the beach and black rock and a deck chair for just lazing on and reading a good book, the area is quite of a night and the staff at The Whaler were all absolutely terrific. Without any hesitation I would say to anyone who is thinking of heading over to Maui for a vacation to stay in this Unit, it has everything you could possibly need. Location is a+ also. We will definatley be back and will stay here again."

My husband and I stayed at this condo for a week during December. It was SO much better than we could have ever imagined. The room was beautiful and the view from the balcony was breathtaking. We were even able to watch the whales! The staff was very accommodating and the grounds were wonderfully manicured. We walked up and down Kaanapali Beach and came to the conclusion that The Whaler is the most convenient location in the area. It is directly next door to The Whaler's Village where tons of shops and GREAT dining can be found. You won't find anywhere better for such a great value! We can't wait to come back again!!!!

I now know what paradise on Earth looks like. My wife and I had a wonderful time in Maui. The condo we stayed in was perfectly located on the beach approx 14 yards from the pool.( I paced it off). The shopping and restaurants are right next door. Plenty of live entertanment every day and night. I highly recommend staying at the Whaler and look forward to my next visit. Pat & Anna

My husband and I stayed in this amazing studio for our first anniversary... it was the best decision we made on the whole trip! You get exactly what you see in the photographs - there were no unpleasant surprises. Very clean and neat and new, and the maids came every day to tidy up (they tend to come a little early, though, so be sure to put out a do not disturb sign if you sleep later or they will come right on in!) The room was comfortable and spacious, and the view was outstanding. We especially enjoyed being able to make our own breakfasts and eat on the private lanai every morning. Listening to the birds and the waves was awesome! The beach front access was also a plus: there was lots of beautiful sand to lay out on, and the snorkeling at Black Rock was in very easy walking distance. The Whaler is literally next door to Whaler's village, which proved to be nice on several occasions. We especially enjoyed "Leilani's on the Beach." They had great service and great food, both in the formal dining room and on the more casual sandy beach stretch. Lahaina is only a five minute drive away as well, so eating was varied and delicious. At first we were a little taken back by the idea of a parking fee, but found that parking was ample and easy, no problems in coming and going no matter what time of day - not so with the other resorts we have stayed at in the past which have also charged us a fee - so overall it was worth it. I would recommend staying here for anyone interesting in any type of vacation in the Ka'anapali area - it's a great jumping off point for just about anything. Thank you so much Michele for sharing your little piece of paradise with us! Hopefully we'll be back soon!

We recently returned from an 11 night stay and we wished we could have stayed a month. The condo has been beautifully remodeled and is very well equipped. It is exactly as it appears in the pictures and we felt right at home instantly. The bed is great...wish we had the same bed at home. The location is great with a good view of the beach and ocean from the lanai. We could hear the waves from inside even with the lanai door closed. The owner was a pleasure to deal with and The Whaler staff is great also. We think that this area is the best location on Maui...there are lots of restaurants, activities and shops right there near The Whaler (we particularly like the Hula Grill). You can take many boat trips without ever leaving Kaanapali Beach (we went out on the Hula Girl which is a 2-year old beautiful catamaran). We also went snorkelling with the Pacific Whale Foundation where you can learn all kinds of information about marine life and the Hawaiian Islands. Many nights we went down to the beach to watch the amazing sunsets; one night in particular there was a rainbow behind us and to our right there was a torch lighting ceremony at the same time. It just doesn't get better than that. We can't wait to go back!

We had a wonderful time in Maui, and the condo was great. The owners were so easy to work with. The maid service each day was so nice. It was great to have fresh towels every time we showered. The location of the condo was perfect – that side of The Whaler is so nice and quiet. And with the trees, our lanai felt fairly private - yet still with a great view of the ocean. We spent much of our time in the mornings and evenings out there. We loved the sound of the ocean every night as we slept with the sliders open. (Kitchen Note: The bath and kitchen remodel are beautiful. If you plan on cooking many of your meals in the room, consider buying some disposable baking trays - there were lots of pots and pans for the stove-top, but not much for the oven.) The pool was nice and quiet and a perfect temperature. Being right next to the shops and restaurants was so convenient. We loved the beach walk. Ka’anapali Beach lived up to its reputation. The snorkeling at Black Rock was enjoyable – we even swam with the sea turtles – unexpected and exciting! We would definitely stay here again! Activities - The Eco Adventure Zip-line Tour was a blast. We did Haleakala, but will try the longer (and more expensive) tour in Ka'anapali next time. Check out the sunset cliff diving ceremony down the beach at Black Rock. Other than that, we needed nothing more than the pool, a book, the beach, and our snorkel gear (purchased at Costco before the trip). Restaurants - Aloha Mixed Plate: great local food, in a perfect atmosphere, good prices, worth going to more than once. Mala - delicious food, but very pricey, make a reservation if you want to sit on the lanai. Right next door - Hula Grill is WONDERFUL! both the nicer restaurant and the barefoot bar & grill. Lelani's - go there for the Hula Pie. Lahaina Pizza company had good pizza and live music.
Owner response:Thanks for all the good information/recommendations and I am glad you enjoyed my condo. My property manager will be adding baking pans/cookie sheets to the kitchen equipment.

Our recent eight night stay at your condo was so enjoyable. From the comfortable bed, sounds of the ocean, the spectacular views, nice decor and daily maid service, what more could a girl want! The view from the lanai toward the ocean and sand and then looking mountainside to see beautiful rainbows was incredible. The location is very convenient to great snorkeling, restaurants and shopping. The staff at The Whaler, especially Amy, was friendly and helpful. My husband and I have been vacationing in Maui for 30 years. This vacation we had the most fun snorkeling, seeing huge fish and swimming with turtles, nine beaches in eight days, then coming home to the condo was so relaxing. "Maui no ka oi". Thank you for sharing your condo, we look forward to our next visit. Aloha!

From my first inquiry on, Michele was responsive and helpful. The unit is even more beautiful and the view even better, than depicted in pictures. After checking in we booked an extra day! Enjoyed the pool and BBQ, koi pond, tropical landscaping and fitness room. Staff is friendly and accomodating. The beach walk out front leads to endless sights, music and activities, including the Barefoot Hula Bar. Next door at Whaler's Village we caught the Maui Onion Festival with a kids' raw onion-eating contest. (Oh, the facial expressions!) And the Whaling Museum there has fascinating exhibits and informative docents. Walked to Black Rock for the sunset torch-lighting, cliff diving ceremony. Bought vintage Aloha shirts in historic Lahina town. Discovered fantastic body surfing up at Napili Beach, where the Sea House Restaurant offers gourmet happy hour food with a sweeping bay view.

We just returned from a 10-night stay in Maui. This beautiful and comfortable condo is perfectly suited for a couple. For less than the price of many hotel rooms, we had a nice amount of space, a full kitchen and an ocean view. While the ocean view isn't straight on, you can easily move the lanai chairs so you have a perfect view to the side. There's something very luxurious about having breakfast on the lanai while looking at the ocean! I don't know when it was remodeled, but it must have been very recently as it is in perfect condition. The pictures shown on this site are completely accurate. The Whaler itself is a gorgeous property. All of the common areas both in and out are meticulously maintained and look like they've been recently updated. Because the property is much smaller than some of the chain hotels on the beach, the feeling is much cozier, and it takes just a couple of minutes to get from the condo to the beach or pool. The staff was very friendly. And you can't beat having maid service every day, which some of the other rentals at the Whaler don't offer.

Terrific location (short walk to Whaler's Village with great shopping and restaurants). Great condo with all new kitchen and bathroom and a super comfortable bed. The view from the lanai is lovely (saw so many whales and rainbows from the lanai). So enjoyed in the morning listening to all of the birds. Saw turtles down by Black Rock snorkeling. We'll be back, thanks for such a wonderful stay. Michelle had great restaurants suggestions. We loved Sensei up in Kapalua (try the butter fish it is a must).

This was a wonderful place to stay. The studio was comfortable and well-maintained with updated bathroom and kitchen. Nice view of the ocean, watched whales from the lanai every morning. Kaanapali Beach is a great place to enjoy and relax in Maui. The walkway in front of The Whaler, running the beach, makes the entire community and ammenities very accessible, or use for exercise (walkers and runners). Overall, a perfect place to play or relax.

This was our second stay at the Whaler but first at this unit. We love the location of the Whaler and really enjoyed our stay in this particular unit. We have found that the Whaler is comfortable and quiet yet right in the middle of Kaanapali Beach. This unit is nicely upgraded (both kitchen and bath) and has a great view out the lanai.

We just spent 4 glorious days at the Whaler 514. The condo is a perfect place to enjoy all that Maui has to offer, full kitchen, great shower and bed, internet access and beautiful patio. The beach outside the door is just steps away and is the best place in the area to snorkel, swim, and enjoy the sun. Restaurants are close by and no need to drive, but if you do have a car make sure and visit Paia Fish Market, and also Lahina Lala Tavern and Paul Davids. Great place, all the ammenitities you could need, extremely convenient to everything you could want to do in Maui. The Whaler staff makes staying there easy.

10/1/09: Our stay at your condo last month was fantastic. We really enjoyed the recent remodel of the interior of the studio. The bed was especially comfortable! The courtyard, garage, porte cochere, pool, and spa were recently remodelled and they look great. Having visited this island many times, we found the Whaler 514 condo to be the best location for our Maui vacation. It is central to many of the wonderful beaches we visited, from Kapalua to Makena, as well as its' own on Ka'anapali. There is great snorkeling from Honolua Bay to Turtle Town, with a short walk to nearby Black Rock. We loved being able to BBQ onsite within view of the ocean waves breaking onshore and walking next door for a great meal at Hula Grill. With only a short 5-10 minute drive to Lahaina we can have "night on the town", or just relax by the pool watching another beautiful sunset. We look forward to our next trip to Whaler 514. Thanks for making it available!
