Moscone Convention Center with Wifi
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Luxurious, beautifully decorated one-bedroom/one-bath apartment is situated in the heart of San Francicso's Moscone Center/Financial District, on the good side of Moscone (the bay side). It's immaculately clean, well-stocked and comes with complimentary bottles of California wine and French Roast coffee beans in the fridge! Complimentary wireless DSL, local phone and two DirecTVs with DVD all included.
Amenities include two satellite TVs (one 36-inch and the other an HDTV), free local phone service, SBC Yahoo!DSL in a charming office with a green view, and secure outdoor parking in a very nearby lot is available (Optional).
There is a separate bedroom with an all-down, queen-size bed. The large, fully-equipped, eat-in kitchen has a gas stove, a microwave, and all appliances. Small back office has a fold out single bed.
Legendary, famous restaurants are just steps away -- Yang Sing, Town Hall, Lulu's, and Boulevard, to name a few.
Good side of Convention Center
Anyone who has been to a convention in SF before must realize that the whole 5th/6th/7th street corridors are very seedy and disreputable. We pride ourselves that we are on the Bayside of Moscone, the GOOD side at 2nd and Folsom.
Easy safe walk to either Moscone, SBC Park, Ferry Building, Union Square, Chinatown, etc.

As I write we are just preparing to leave (so who knows, something non-fabulous could happen in the next 2 hours). John has a number of apartments in this building, I'm sure they are all in the same great condition as this one. Well decorated, obsessively clean, everything functioning as it should. Outstanding bedding and linens (which is a real test point for us). Since I worked some, including a two hour conference call, having the office in the back of the apartment looking out over the garden was a nice add. We were greeted by a wonderful spread of fruit, crackers, chips and wine. There are so many great restaurants that I did not cook (I usually do). But the kitchen is well equipped, ready to go. The location is great, very convenient to the major tourist attractions and especially to Moscone if you're in for a conference or show. 200 feet to Starbucks, a block and a half to Umbria, a great Italian restaurant where I got to use my Italian with the waiters. We walked 15 minutes to Cirque du Soleil at ATT Park, 7 minutes to Moscone and the Museum of Modern Art. 12 minutes to Union Square. There is a cab stand right around the corner, and you are 8 minute walk to the Bart station. When I booked, I was a little concerned about the proximity to the freeway entrance. And in fact the apartment is very close to the ramp and there is some road noise. But even though the bedroom faces the street, John has worked it to keep the noise to a minimum. My wife who is a fanatic about a quite room found it satisfactory. We don't know mutch about the relative safety of San Francisco neighborhoods, but we never felt any issue while we were here. We've stayed in a lot of Homeaway type properties. This is one of the excellent ones. We are thinking about returning with freinds, just because this is such a great place to stay in a great city.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, age 55+.

Not really on vacation, I came to San Francisco with my wife to attend a conference at Moscone West. The apartment had everything we could wish for and the welcome gifts were *extremely* welcome after a 10-hour flight. Once we were oriented, the ideal situation revealed itself for a couple without a car. The owner's notes provided a quick start for touring the area nearby, with downtown, the ferries and so on all within easy walking distance. Buses came in useful for longer hauls. I felt definitely sad to leave this wonderful place. A special touch was provided by seeing my name on the door, which really made us feel 'at a home from home' for six special days.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+.

After an extensive review of hotel and apartment options for our first stay in San Fran, my husband and I booked this apartment. We were not disappointed! The apartment was comfortable, adorable, clean and conveniently located. The owner, who lives on the top floor, was very nice and accommodating. His attention to detail and special touches – from fresh flowers to fresh coffee to comfortable bedding – was much appreciated. Thank you, John, for a wonderful stay!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway.

I rented a 1 bedroom apartment from John for a business trip. The apartment was perfect. It is immaculate and has all the standard amenities. Don't forget the bottles of wine, beer, fruit bowl & snacks provided at no additional cost! The other tenants are friendly and very quiet. It was nice to have access to the washer & dryer, which are very clean and in good condition. If you are in San Francisco for vacation, the location is also perfect. It's situated in the heart of the city with easy access to all the standard tourist attractions. John is also a very hospitable host who is available when you need him, but gives you your privacy. It's the perfect home away from home. I will definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

It's hard to believe there's any place better in the city for this price. John is an excellent host. We were welcomed with wine and a big bowl of fruit. The apartment's spacious enough for two. Very clean. Loved seeing the back courtyard greenery and feeling the airflow. Great SOMA location within a walk of Embarcadero, Union Square, ATT Park...and transit to other neighborhoods. No question we'd go back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.

We recently returned from a 6 day stay at this lovely apartment. First off, not only is John an extremely wonderful human being, but he is also very organized! He was a pleasure to work with and made everything so easy. The apartment was wonderful--spacious, immaculate, nicely appointed. The kitchen was great and had everything you would need to cook full meals. Bed was very comfortable. We stayed in the ground floor apartment and the bedroom is right off the street, so there was some street noise. At times you could also hear people walking in the apartment above. My wife is somewhat of a light sleeper so she used the earplugs John kindly provided, along with a "white noise" machine we brought from home, and she slept well. The wifi worked great---don't forget to bring your laptop! John provides complimentary use of a clothes washer and dryers located downstairs, which was a nice touch. The location was very convenient for us, a short walk to Union Square where my conference was held. My wife spent her days all over the city, and used BART which was very close by (Montgomery St. BART stop) and also the MUNI. The Ferry Building is a short walk from the apartment, we went to the world famous Saturday Farmer's Market held there---do not miss it if you're in town! A Whole Foods grocery store was also a short walk away. We felt very safe here, my wife felt completely comfortable alone in the apartment and walking around in the area. We would definitely stay here again in the future! A fabulous home away from home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Which is exactly what I was looking for. Flat was nice -- very clean and tidy, well furnished, two big televisions and enough space for everything. Free laundry was a big bonus. It's a quiet and relaxing place, with a superb location for Moscone center and shopping on Market St. There are restaurants and some all-night convienience stores nearby as well. The only bad things I can think of are really rather minor: Pictures that were shown aren't of that particular apartment, but the differences are slight. Some road noise in the bedroom, but I'm used to city life and it didn't bother me. Host provides ear plugs should you need them.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+.

Location
Owner info
Year Purchased: 1992
About the owner: I've been rehabbing and designing my own properties in San Francisco since the 80's. This downtown property is my favorite and is so central that I sold my car.
Why the Owner Chose Financial District:
This area, SOMA, is very exciting and constantly improving! It is very close to the bayfront, called the Embarcadero, and the fabulous Ferry Building, our foodie mecca.
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment:
Number one is the smack downtown location very walkable (Union Square, Chinatown, Bayfront, etc.)
Second are the insane restaurants in the area: Osha Thai, probably is the best Thai restaurant in SF, and many others all too close!
