'Tropical Hideaway' is a brand new custom home with ceramic tile throughout. Each of the three bedrooms has a unique nautical theme and a large flat screen cable TV. The two full baths are completely tiled and the master bath shower has a handcrafted pebbled floor.
The kitchen contains state of the art appliances including stainless steel side by side refrigerator, built in microwave, stove, dishwasher and a separate temperature controlled wine refrigerator. The kitchen countertops and huge center island are granite. The large dining room table is made of tropical hardwood and seats 8-10. The living room has a extra large flat screen and is equipped with cable, wireless network and DVD. A screened back porch has two overhead ceiling fans as well as cushioned resin wicker furniture and overlooks the canal. Dock your boat on our 40' dock with fishing cleaning table and swim ladder. The canal is deep and the dock will hold up to a 31' center console. There is easy access to the back bays and the Atlantic Ocean. The house comes complete with beach chairs, beach umbrellas, bikes, kayaks and a gas grill.
Big Pine Key is located at the southern end of the Seven Mile Bridge in the Florida Keys, The house is located in the Doctor’s Arm Subdivision, which is surrounded by a federal wildlife preserve. It is famous for its ‘Key Deer’ that inhabit the island. There is a Winn Dixie and a CVS on Route 1 in Big Pine. Big Pine is 30 miles north of Key West.
Local restaurants include the world famous No Name Pub which is walking distance, Parrotdise (mm 28.5), Boondocks(mm 27.5) or the Big Pine Restaurant(mm 30).
While most people visiting the Keys enjoy relaxing, you may enjoy going to the beach at Bahia Honda(mm 37),snorkeling or diving at Looe Key(mm 29) or chartering a fishing boat. Others might enjoy some sightseeing at the Dolphin Research Center(mm 59) or at one of the many attractions in Key West(mm 1)such as the Conch Train Tour, the Mel Fischer Museum, or viewing the sunset at Mallory Square.
Flights are available into Key West which is 30 miles to the south. Others prefer to fly into Fort Lauderdale or Miami and drive the rest of the way to enjoy the unique island scenery.

Why the Owner Chose Big Pine Key
My husband and I owned the property for ten years before we were granted a building permit. The house was completed in December of 2008. We use it as a vacation house in the winter to get away from the cold weather in the northeast. We picked the location because my husband is an avid fisherman and the Keys are a great place for fishing.

My Wife, Daughter and I had one of our best vacations here in Big Pine Key. Accomodations were top notch. Beautiful new home located right on the lagoon. We visited Bahia Honda daily (Local State Park) and took the short ride to Key West several times during our stay. Great local places to eat and visit while in Big Pine and my 3 year lod daughter loved the key deer (miniture deer) that inhabit the island. Make sure you visit the famous "No Name Pub" located a few blocks away. Great food and interesting decor to say the least!! We plan on making this a yearly vacation and recommend this rental to anyone looking to get away for a fantastic price.
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, sightseeing, adventure seekers, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

We loved this home. Had a wonderful family vacation here in 2009. The house is lovely-everything is new and clean, roomy and well appointed. The location was perfect. The owneres could not have been more accommodating We will rent again.
