Relax and enjoy the morning sun as you look out at the ocean from the living spaces of this 6-bedroom home. Its location in a corner lot affords this home plenty of natural light and beautiful views.
Sit down to eat breakfast with your family and friends in a table that stretches to seat twelve. Then put on your bathing suit, cross the street and you are at the life guarded beach! When you're ready for a change of scene, come home and relax in the hot tub or in one of the two shaded porches.
Spend the afternoon strolling the neighborhood, biking to the nearest shops, or simply hanging out. In the evening dining and entertainment can be had in Bethany, Rehoboth or Ocean City, MD. Before going to bed, be sure to climb the stairs up to the crow's nest to count the stars!
Built in 2005, the Sand Trap comfortably accommodates large groups of friends and families. Three of the bedroom suites have their own bathroom and there is parking for four vehicles on the property plus off street parking with a permit.

Why the Owner Chose South Bethany Beach
After spending two years looking for a home in the Bethany area, we were finally were able to make our dream come true by buying a beach house in the summer of 2009. I remember clearly the day in late June when my husband who regularly surfed the real estate listings exclaimed "Here it is! Our new beach house!" We were drawn in by the brightness of the home, its excellent condition, and the size of the house which lent itself to large gatherings with friends and family. The South Bethany area offered a good compromise between the seclusion of the private beaches of North Bethany and the crowds in downtown Bethany. We also felt that the life guarded beach would appeal to the families with young children that we hoped to share our house with. Finally, the young age of the house meant that it was up-to-date and likely to have less maintenance problems than an older home.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The Sand Trap is one house away from the ocean so sitting down in the morning with a cup of coffee and looking at the ocean is one of our favorite activities. If you are an early riser, you can watch the sunrise from inside the house or one of the decks. The crow’s nest also is a favorite hangout providing views north far up the beach and of sunsets across the tops of the houses and trees of Bethany. At night one can check out the stars or moonlight on the ocean while listening to the waves. You can actually hear the waves crashing on the beach from inside the house, but the sound is soothing and not overpowering as it might be with an oceanfront home. We love the home's closeness to downtown Bethany (1.5 miles), to Ocean City (8.5 miles), and to Rehoboth (13.5 miles). Shopping in Delaware is tax free, thereby giving those who don't typically like to shop an excuse to go! Most of all we enjoy sharing the company of our friends and family around a good meal, a sand castle on the beach, or in the hot tub.

My husband and I settled in the Maryland suburbs of Washington DC area over twenty years ago. From early on, vacations in Rehoboth and Bethany with our children became a favorite tradition. We've had the opportunity to vacation as a family in some of the best beaches in the US, Mexico and the Caribbean. However, nothing has ever replaced the comfort and sense of belonging that we get vacationing close to home in the Delaware Shore!

First, the on-line photos do not do justice to the well-thought-out, pleasing decor. This home is spacious and beautifully maintained with thoughtful touches provided by the owner such as the welcome binder of information, a small library of videos, games and puzzles and an amazing variety of cookware! My family and I enjoyed a relaxing, carefree week - it seemed like "home" from the first day. The crow's nest provided the opportunity to take some amazing photos and for my husband to use his telescope, which we brought along in case of starry nights. we visited nearby ocean city for the Winterfest of Lights which was a wonderful experience. We certainly would recommend this property and we hope to stay here again ourselves! Thank you for a wonderful vacation!

My family and I spent the most wonderful week at the beautiful "Sand Trap" at the end of June. The house was more than we expected with all the amenities you could possibly want and more. The photos didn't do it justice. The beach was beautiful and we spent every day sunning, swimming and building sand castles. There were 11 adults, a teenager and a toddler, plenty of room for all to enjoy with the beautiful rooms and porches. We haven't stopped talliking about our vacation in Delaware and would go back to the "Sand Trap" in a minute..

This home and location was exactly what I was hoping for...it was wonderful to be able to watch the dolphins swim by from the living area and kitchen! And soaking in the hot tub was a perfect way to end the day. Enjoyed walking the beach. Went to Assateaque Island. Walked the boardwalk in Ocean City and always glad to return to this beautiful home. Thank you for sharing! This was my first time renting a home..usually stayed at hotels. Very easy process and enjoyed it so much more for comfort and privacy. Nice staying in residential area.

A group of 10 of us stayed here over Memorial Day - from the minute I emailed with Ria in January to ask about the house she was a pleasure to work with. The home was conveniently located to the beach, the cities and a short drive to OC. The kitchen had everything you needed to cook and the crow's nest was the best. Just wanted to say "THANKS" The house was just as promised-Perfect. The house was just as pictured. We spent a week watching the dolphins from the living room and crow's nest and loved the short walk to the beach. We got some great restaurant ideas from the local firehouse(firemen love to eat-we always ask when we are in a new town)- first they sent us to Phillips for the buffet and it was soooo good that we went a second time and then they told us about Mickeys and the crabs were the best. This was our first trip to Delaware and we will be back.

The Sand Trap is a very nicely furnished and well-equipped house in South Bethany DE with convenient access to an excellent beach. We walked back and forth in our bare feet in just a couple of minutes. There are nice views of the beach from the house too, which we enjoyed from the balcony and roof top crows nest as well as from inside the house. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessities like coffee maker, blender, toaster, microwave, as well as all the usual appliances, which are all top end. Plenty of glassware, dishes and tableware, pots & pans, utensils, etc. Washer & dryer work really well, and quickly! Great living room set up for TV viewing on a large screen TV. Nice DVD collection as well as a book shelf with a wide selection of reading material as well as some games and puzzles, and lots of magazines. The Sand Trap is conveniently located just off the main drag; you can easily drive to a multitude of restaurants and shopping, and key pick-up and drop off couldn't be more convenient or easier. Highly recommended!!

The Sand Trap is a beautiful home! We thoroughly enjoyed our too-brief stay over a long weekend. The home is well-furnished in immaculately clean. It has convenient layout with plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms to keep everyone out of each others' hair while the open, spacious third level kitchen/dining/living area provide a wonderful place for everyone to congregate. The crow's nest was a favorite place to retreat for a moment or two of solitude and to enjoy an unmatched view of the ocean. On a nice day, open up the windows to let the ocean breeze roll through the upper floor (just remember to turn off the A/C!) and you'll be in heaven on earth. The beach is literally across the street. The town of Bethany is just a short drive (or long walk) away (but you won't want to leave The Sand Trap!). There's plenty of parking. Lots of little shops close by. The kitchen is well-stocked with essential cookware and diningware and very nice appliances. All in all, The Sand Trap is fantastic. We had no complaints and would love to return in years to come!

The Sand Trip was a beautifully furnished, clean home, with plenty of space for everyone. We traveled with a group of 6 adult couples, and everyone was pleased with their accommodations. (We pushed the two twins together for a king size bed; and the bottom of the pyramid bed was a double - large enough for two people for the weekend.) The kitchen was well stocked, with enough seating for everyone; and the 180-degree ocean views from the living room and kitchen were fabulous! Since we traveled during the winter, we especially enjoyed the hot tub. We hope to return during the summer or fall so we can enjoy the large deck's and the crow's nest overlooking the beach.

My friends and I have done weekend get aways using vacation homes for the past year now, and I have had many other expierences with beach houses before, This by far was one of the most beautiful, and well kept houses I have ever seen. Perfect for any gang, and an absolute delight to stay in. Beautiful views, well supplied kitchen. We enjoy this house so much, and our great group runs on the beach. We will certainly be back! The customer service in renting was great too, with the owner as well as the realty. Thank you for one of the BEST WEEKENDS SAND TRAP!
