Casa Cachora has it ALL. It is in a most preferred residential area of Todos Santos: safe, quiet, serene, surrounded by lush mature gardens, with ocean views from the upper deck. You can hear the surf from your bedroom. Rooms look out onto well-maintained beautiful gardens with many unique specimen palm, banana, mango and papaya trees, hibiscus, plumeria, and lots of other tropical flowers. A lush, shady oasis with rock-lined water canals running through the gardens! Many shady patios to choose from! Only a 5 min walk to the beach (300 yards) along a quiet lane lined with stately mango trees, as well as a 5 minute drive to town(1 mile).
The property is also very private with secure walls and fencing surrounding entire one third acre. You see no neighbors (although the neighbors on the lane are wonderful!) and the property looks out to the open fields of the huerta where horses graze near the lush virgin palm forest and natural stream that runs from the mountains to the sea. VERY quiet and peaceful yet ideal proximity to all you will want in Todos Santos - the beaches, the galleries, and fine restaurants and shops in town. As a bonus, the property features a 400 SF art studio/yoga/family room with a palapa roof - fully enclosed featuring large sliding glass (and screened) doors on two sides that open wide to let in natural light and ocean breezes.

About the owner: We fell in love with Todos Santos and Casa Cachora during a vacation visit there in 2005. Deb had lived in Mexico as a student and Deb and Tom had taken numerous trips to various destinations in Mexico prior to settling down in Todos Santos. When not in Mexico, our work in the US is research and evaluation of public school, pre-school, and child care services in California and throughout the nation (and Canada). We love participating in the baby turtle releases at sunset, whale watching, gallery-hopping, and simply taking in all of the surrounding beauty of this amazing spot - from the majestic Sierra mounatins that form a backdrop to one side, the magnificent natural nearby lagoon with its many flocks of rare birds, and the untouched sandy coastline and awe-inspiring rock formations to the south such as Punta Lobos, where the fisherman can be visited as they come in with the day's catch and you can pick up the freshest dinner you have ever tasted!
Why the Owner Chose Todos Santos:
Todos Santos has the perfect feel and is in a beautiful location, as the clear spring waters wash down from the mountains through the short valley beside the town, ending in a gorgeous lagoon that eventually meets the ocean as it fills and spills into the ocean from time to time. All of this water makes the Todos Santos neighborhood of La Cachora very lush and green throughout the year, with virgin palm forests across the way and lots of trees, including mango, tropical palms, papaya, banana, and mango on the property itself. In stark contrast to the surrounding desert environment, La Cachora is an oasis by the sea, frequented by dozens of rare migrating birds, nesting giant turtles, and gray and humpback whales, which come right up to the lagoon and can be seen frolicking just off the coast from La Pastora, the never-crowded beach that is closest to the house. Only 1 1/2 hours drive (or bus) from the Cabo Airport, and an hour away from Cabo San Lucas as well as La Paz, Todos Santos is a thriving artists' community that attracts people from around the world. There are excellent cafes, plus Italian, Mexican, and California cuisine available 5 min away. The people are friendly and the town exudes a wonderful peaceful and secluded feel, with its historic streets, buildings, anbd galleries nestled on a plateau just above the Pacific Coast. Historic "Old Town" Todos Santos is 1 mile from the property.

It is wonderfully relaxing and serene at Casa Cachora. The pace of life slows to a much more natural one with the biggest event of the day being the stunning sunset every night at the beach. After that, into town to one of the many excellent restaurants, or a quiet home-cooked meal under the palapa on the patio. The days are spent lounging in the garden, on multi-leveled patios or the roof deck, in town for shopping, art, yoga, or music, or at the beach for birdwatching, whale watching, swimming, or endless walking, running, or hiking options.
