We hope you feel inspired while staying in our rustic beachfront home, "Casa de la Musa", directly on the spectacular beach of Punta Uva. This is the home where famous Costa Rican author, Anacristina Rossi, lived for nearly 15 years and wrote stories about the life and beauty of the Caribbean coast. Her works include "La Loca de Gandoca,” which, after its release in 1992, helped save the Gandoca-Manzanillo Wildlife Refuge from development. While sitting in the home’s breezy wrap-around deck and looking through the magnificent jungle gardens at the gorgeous Punta Uva beach, one can easily imagine how Rossi felt inspired to write about this Costa Rican paradise.
Casa de la Musa is a funky Caribbean house with two upstairs bedrooms, one with a double bed, one with a double bed and bunk bed. The bathroom is located downstairs. One of the special features of this house is our screened-in wrap-around deck with plenty of space for all to be comfortable and protected against mosquitoes. The house comes with a basic yet substantial kitchen, including a fridge with small attached freezer, gas-run stove top, coffee maker, toaster, dishware and utensils as well as an open dining area. Linens and towels are included as well as once weekly cleaning services. There is a safe box to store important personal belongings.
Surrounded by lush natural gardens exploding with exotic plants and wildlife, Casa de la Musa is one of the only houses on the beach with private access to Punta Uva. Outside Magazine and other travel publications have rated Punta Uva one of the top 10 most beautiful beaches in the world. The house is also near some of the area’s most wonderful restaurants, dive centers, surf spots, massage studios, yoga classes and all of the fun activities of Puerto Viejo. You can walk the trails of the Manzanillo-Gandoca refuge by a quick bike ride or even quicker car ride, explore the various beaches by foot or bicycle, or just relax in a hammock looking out onto the turquoise waters of the Caribbean.
Casa de la Musa is managed by the Bed and Breakfast, Tierra de Suen~os, which is located a kilometer down the road. The friendly team at Tierra de Suen~os will provide you with easy access to information, tour booking and support on your Costa Rican vacation adventure. Our gardener and security assistant lives on the premises of Casa de la Musa and is also available for your comfort.
