Just an hour away from Seattle, relax in the peaceful calm of Mutiny Bay on Whidbey Island. Drive down a wooded lane to our secluded, kid-friendly home on the beach. Step from the large deck directly onto a beautiful sandy beach with a majestic view of the Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound.
While here, go for long strolls along miles of sandy beach, explore the sea life at low tide or bird watch for eagles, blue heron, gulls, and water fowl. Wade or swim, doze in the sun or shade, enjoy a sunset, and end your day beside a crackling fire or gazing up at the stars. Whidbey also offers historic state parks, hiking trails, an active arts scene, wineries, fine restaurants, fresh seafood, and much more.
Our beach house has 4 bedrooms, 2 baths, broadband Wi-Fi, TV/stereo with library, remodeled kitchen, dishwasher, washer/dryer, large deck, charcoal barbecue, and a large wood-burning fireplace. Private beach and tidelands. You may bring your kayak, rowboat, ski boat, sailboat, and connect to our buoy. And you may also bring along your dog if you get approval from us in advance. (No cats, please.)

Rate Details (In US Dollars)
$395 per night (2 night minimum) or $2000 for 6 nights.
$500 refundable damage deposit. $150 cleaning fee.
$2,000 for 6 nights for fall/winter/spring or $395/night with a 2 night minimum.
$2,500 for 6 nights for June/July/August or $450/night with a 3 night minimum.
You may bring your dog if you get approval from us in advance. (No cats please.)
Discounts available for multiple week rentals - contact us about it.
No large parties please. We have a nice quiet beach.

We chose this home for our annual family reunion and it suited all of our needs perfectly! The house was clean, well maintained and excellently equipped. All of the beds were so comfortable. We spent most of our time on the beautiful deck that is steps away from one of the few sandy beaches on Whidbey. We will definitely be back!

Excellent house. Well equipped kitchen, comfy beds. Wonderful fireplace and seating area. Truly on the beach. The sunsets are magical. House location great, and it's easy to drive from house to explore all of Whidbey Island.

Right from our first inquiry, the owner was immediately responsive so we were able to lock the house in quickly. We had 2 families with kids ranging from 7 to 15 plus a grandma with us. The 4 main floor bedrooms plus the loft turned out to be the perfect layout - we slept towards the back and put the kids towards the front and in the loft. We spent most of our time outside given this is Whidbey's best sandy beach and when in the house, we managed to have many different things going on ranging from cooking to board games, to a movie, to people going in and out to the beach and never felt crowded. The swing-set was a real plus for the younger kids in between beach time. The washer/dryer was very handy so we didn't go home with wet beach clothes. All the rooms were clean, and bright. The back 3 bedrooms and bathroom are clearly the newer part of the house while the front bedroom, bathroom and loft are part of the original smaller more dated house. We felt more comfortable in this house because it feels happily lived in and loved by its owner family, whereas we have stayed in other houses that feel more like showpieces where you spend all your time worrying about whether a child got sand on the white couch. This house can handle a group, yet allows privacy and separation. We told the owners we plan to be repeat guests.

We stayed here in late June 2010 and completely enjoyed the house, the location and Whidbey Island. The house is just as described. It is not overly fancy but clean, comfortable and good for kids. The four bedrooms each feature a queen bed, but there is also a big fun loft and a fold out futon in the living room, so plenty of space for our group of 12. The living room / eating area is not huge but fit us fine and the view is fabulous. The house is directly on a wonderful beach. A local company rented us kayaks and much of the time the water was flat and calm for paddling. The beach is also great for walking, even at high tide. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the bald eagles and heron each day. The kitchen is not huge but worked. The stove is pretty dated but the kitchen is well outfitted for cooking and serving crowds. The house well equipped and is very family friendly. An added benefit was being allowed to bring our dog. The location is convenient to the ferry and the owner was quite helpful. There are many state parks nearby but really with the beach right there, you can just stay put and enjoy! Recommended as a good family get away.
Owner response:Yes, our stove was quite dated. But we have just replaced it with a brand new five burner stove that works great!
