We saw an eagle after lunch at the Schooner in Netarts. The eagle landed on 2nd branch of a bare tree. Tree looked like driftwood log standing tall, no needles or leaves on the tree. It was about 70 degrees. At 8:00 a.m. tide was out, could walk around rock to Lost Boy Beach. Many orange and purple sea stars (starfish as some call them) at the far end. Such a relief reaching Heart of the Hill, spent couple of hours on the deck, perfect for napping! Thank you for sharing your home.

What a beautiful view. The Oregon Coast is one of our favorite spots. First time staying at Oceanside. Here for a para-gliding fly-in. Saturday afternoon was gorgeous. Took a little walk down the beach. Watched all the paragliders fly and land on the beach. Couldn't have been more relaxing. Sunday drove down to Pacific City for lunch. Another beautiful day. Watched more paragliders. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously. Thank you! What a cute little studio, love the decor!

Breath taking views, perfect weather and a cozy place to stay made this an amazing stay on the Oregon Coast. I got some amazing pictures off the deck of sunsets and the full moon setting as well. Thank you Ron & Kate for creating such an absolutely beautiful space.

Wow! The most rain I have ever seen at the coast! It was wonderful to be so sozy and warm in your haven and watch the sheets of rain, sip coffee and read with the constancy of the soothing waves as background. The atmosphere of you places is so positive and welcoming. All our email exchanges were equally positive and friendly. Thank you so much!

The view is spectacular!! What a wonderful first experience on the Oregon Coast. Quiet and relaxing, it was exactly what we needed. We will now head south along the coast, hoping for at least one more day of sunshine which were blessed with our first day here. Thank you for everything! It was perfect!

Within one hour this morning, the weather changed from rain to big snowflake flurries to blue sky breaks and sun on the water. Delightful to watch nature's every changing beauty. This is our third stay @ Heart of the Hill - we love the cozyness of the studio and the awesome view. Thank you for sharing! Oh, we enjoyed dinner @ Brewin' in the Wind's new spot. Great little town - I appreciate that there is no cell service. A true getaway!

Made great progress on my book at your perfect writer's retreat on the hill. Was able to write with the ocean view for companion, then 2 hour walk on the beach each day seeing all manner of inspiring things. Just magical to watch. Sunset was stunning every evening. Enormously grateful.

This was an awesome place to stay with a fantastic view of the beach and bay! We wish we had planned to stay longer than one night! You've done a great job at keeping this a very comfortable and cozy place to stay, thanks! Your suggestion of Rosanna's in the informational was and EXCELLENT choice for our only dinner at Oceanside! We truely hope to be able to return one day on another trip to the Pacific Northwest!

Our week at Oceanside has been incredible. the view of the ocean is awesome! Lynee cooked several evenings, otherwise we have strolled down to Rosanna's (4 nights of great food and pinot gris). Brewin' In the Wind and Oceanfront Deli for breakfasts and then puff our way up the hill. Thank you Ron & Kate for your excellent accomodations and terrific week at Oceanside!

What a perfect 60th birthday get-a-way. Just beautiful scenery, cozy accomodations and no party - the way I wanted it. Spent the 22nd (warm, short sleeves) counting my blessings with a glass of vino on the deck at Sunset! Many thanks Ron & Kate for a great visit and birthday wishes.

The Heart of the Hill truly is. We loved your view of the ocean and every square foot of this well-loved, carefully planned, perfectly decorated home. The before and after photos in your guest information book are astounding! The wedding which brought us here was ghorgeous. Our good friends, were married in such an incredible ceremony and this quaint ocean town was the perfect backdrop We will absolutely be back! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

This was our 4th time to Heart of the Hill! We missed last year and are thrilled with the final result of the lower Cottage. Good job Ron and sons! Our calves are sore from walking the town and Short Beach (which is our favorite place of all!) We love the food at Rosanna's as always. The sesserts are still sinful. Thanks so much for always thinking of everything - we love it!

Goo Tuesday Morning - Bud and Janis' 36th Anniversary! Bud's sis from Illinois joining the couple on ther special day. We had a 'walkie' on the foggy beach this am early and after a walk thru the cave to the most Northern poin of the incoming tide....it was "Heart of the Hill" for soft boiled eggs and a relaxing view of the lovely beach! Thank you for a wonderful stay for 2 nights!

We came for a wedding and stumbled upon your VRBO listing. What a great little place. Perfect for just the two of us to get away. There was lots of fog this weekend, it was fun to see the scenic view become unvieled.

What a wonderful view of God's creation from this place! I think we would never tire of seeing the ocean out the window. This coazy cabin was the perfect place for our getaway (We are teachers and we could celebrate school being out :-) The kitchen was just the right size for cooking our meals and the bed and couch so comfortable. We have happy memories to cherish at this beautiful place!

When my wonderful daughter and son-in-law told my sister and me that they were taking us to Oregon's Pacific coast for a special treat after losing our mother, we had NO IDEA, NO IDEA what to expect. This beautiful cottage, the beach, the ocean waves made a restorative tonic and gave us PEACE; it restored our souls. "Heart of the Hill" is just that, and we think, is the SPIRIT of the whale of Oceanside "THE SPIRIT OF THE PLACE". You two have put a lot of love attention and detail into this cottage and made the smallest details perfect. You've thought of everything, and we don't want to leave, EVER...... "Why do we love the sea" It is because it has some potent power to make us think things we like to think" - Robert Henri. From the moment we walked through the charming screen door into the studio we knew this would be a special time in this place. The perfect frame of the ocean took our breath away. We could hardly bear to leave it long enough to unload our stuff! (And WHAT about that stained glass?!?) This studio i wonderful - from the craftmanship of the remodel itself to the restful sound of ocean and birds. It is a place of peace - a place "...to make us think things we like to think," a place of restorative relaxation, a place that allows space from a world crazed by constant activity. A restaurant a post office, a coffee shop, a beach that seems infinite, a view that inspires - what more do our souls need? Maybe just the pleasant smile of a friendly host and our questions answered and needs carefully attended to ! I will be back. And how I will miss this place until I return! Thank you for your lovely hospitality and your own personal "slice of heaven". It met all my expectations and then some.

We've been coming here since probably 2002 when we met Ron & Kate at the old Anchor Tavern. Ron told us of his renovation which we went to see the next day. "Heart of the Hill' has come a long way then then!! As soon as it was finished we became 'regulars'. When we need a 'beach fix' we ALWAYS come here to a totally relaxing, cozy and laid back atmosphere. We love Oceanside and 'Heart of the Hill'. Thank you for providing this treasured get-a-way.

So great a time we had at Oceanside, "The Heart" of it, with us, will always stay. A view of blue that seems forever wide Doth frame the room where restless souls can lay. The coast, the peace, and all of nature's charms, This place, a great lighthouse, for which we yearn, Met us so unassumed with open arms, We only hope we can someday return. Thank you so much for your hospitality. This place is truely inspiring. One can tell you put your heart into this place.
