Location: Akumal, Quintana Roo, Yucatan, Mayan Riviera, Mexico (Amanecer Akumal Condo #3, at Half Moon Bay, Akumal, Mexico)
Accommodations: Condominium, 2 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2 Baths (Sleeps 4-5)
Amanecer Condo #4, next to #3, may be available for larger groups, upon request.
Come and enjoy one of Akumal’s newest and most spacious 2 BR, 2 BA condos. Amanecer Akumal #3 is on the second floor with flower studded balconies front and rear, setting the stage for a relaxing getaway. Inside, abundant light and fully air conditioned rooms accented by beautiful mahogany doors and furniture and Mexican hand-painted tiles will lift your spirits. Everything you could want, right down to the electric juicer to make fresh lime margaritas, has been provided, since the owners have set the condo up for themselves. We have satellite TV, wireless internet and a security cabinet for your convenience. After a “busy” day at the beach, relax with your drink at our private courtyard pool, enjoying the lush gardens and attractive Mexican architecture. Later, enjoy unbelievable sunsets and millions of stars on our rooftop terrace. Amanecer is only a few minutes walk from many of Akumal’s favorite destinations, such as Yal Ku Lagoon and Half Moon Bay, La Lunita and La Buena Vida.
Our property manager, Pio, speaks English and will happily assist you with special requests, ranging from a professional masseuse to a private fishing or diving expedition. He has lived with his family in Akumal for over 20 years, and has been an excellent resource for all of the area’s highlights for our guests.
Akumal is a quiet, residential beachside community located about 60 miles south of the Cancun Airport, just an hour’s drive straight south on a modern divided highway. Amanecer Akumal is a perfect retreat for couples or families, offering many activities, including some of the best snorkeling & diving on the Mayan Riviera, as well as ecological trips to nearby cenotes and jungles. The white sand beaches are dotted with palapas and beach bars. All the local restaurants in Akumal treat their water, making the dining completely safe, and they all use fresh local ingredients. Our location in Half Moon Bay is just a three-minute walk to the famous preserved Yal Ku Lagoon with its calm, clear water, perfect for protected snorkeling. Also within walking distance is one of the area’s best restaurants, La Lunita, where you can enjoy candlelit dining on the beach. Akumal, which means “place of the turtle” in Mayan, has a large ecocenter, which teaches about the community’s commitment to the environment. Visit the ecocenter to learn how they preserve the surrounding reefs and particularly the sea turtles that come to the beaches to lay their eggs every summer. You will also find in Akumal two dive centers offering PADI-certified instructors that offer organized trips for reef and cavern dives, as well as fishing trips and jungle tours guided by local Mayans. The tranquility of Akumal, coupled with the comforts of our condo, will refresh your spirit and beckon your return, year after year.
