My husband and I stayed in this fabulous home for nine nights in early March. We were so pleasantly surprised in everything that the home had to offer. There is nothing that we would have changed at all, except, how long we were able to stay. From the beautiful view from the lanai and pool area to the great master suite and wonderful kitchen with everything that you could possibly need. Nadja was so very helpful and easy to deal with through the entire process of booking to checkout. We have been to Cape Coral many times and have enjoyed each visit staying in different properties. We were so pleased with everything about this property that this will be our constant vacation rental when we will be in the Cape Coral area. Thank you Nadja and Friedrich, we couldn't have asked for a more lovely home to enjoy. We will be back!

After a 3 day drive from Wisconsin we were so ready for a retreat & we got it when we opened the front door at Villa Portofina. We had naturally studied the photos but it was better than we imagined. It was very neat, clean, & comfortable. Everything we needed was there except for the groceries & they were right down the street. We loved opening the patio doors all the way so the outside came in. The pool was wonderful & used everyday, the bikes were used every morning, & the dock was great for sunbathing, fishing, & keeping our rental boat. Our little dog, Cami, loved to run around the pool & chase the birds that landed on the canal...I was scared she would jump right in. We had family visit & they loved the house & area as much as we did. Nadja & Friedrich are so caring & were never too busy to take a call or answer an e-mail. They even helped with a dental emergency! We are returning next year & I may just consider this my Feburary Florida home. We enjoyed Cape Harbour's shops, bars, & marina. You can't go wrong with this house or the owners.

We have no hesitation in recommending this property to others, spacious, modern, clean, well equipped and great location with good canal views. A lovely home furnished to a high standard, very warm pool. Helpful information supplied in advance and all our queries responded to quickly. Friendly and charming owners. We had a great holiday. What more could you ask for?

A wonderful month at Villa portofino

My husband, step daughter and I have just returned from a month at Villa Portofino. From the moment we arrived we were delighted. It is everything and more than the photographs show. The location is peaceful and perfect for access to all areas of the gulf coast. The decor is very tasteful and has all mod cons, well equipped and very well maintained. Nadia and Friedrich were incredibly helpful and always available for questions. The Villa has numerous restaurants within a short drive. However we took full advantage of the outdoor kitchen space as much as possible; it was too nice to leave. It really is a home away from home. We would not hesitate to recommend to friends and family and we will certainly return. David and Tracey Saint Lucia

Beautiful Cape Coral Property

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday staying at the Villa Portofino, there is always a degree of trepidtion when booking over the internet but this property is first class. Beautifully styled, exceptionally well equipped and spotlessly clean. The aspect of the property, looking out over the canal ,whilst having breakfast is the perfect start to the day and super relaxing. We found the area to be very quiet with easy access to good restaurants and shopping. From our inital contact with Nadja & Friedrich they have always been extremely friendly and helpful, a great source of local knowledge and advice, they did everything possible to ensure that we were completely comfortable during our stay. We really enjoyed our boating adventures having Dolphin trail the boat, seeing the Osprey fishing for supper and even a Manatee in the waterway! It was very easy to drive to the beaches of Fort Myers and Sanibel and the shopping at Coconut Point was great. Nadja & Friedrich thank you both for your generous hospitality.

Perfect house, perfect service

Having looked for something very special, the four of us, including 10-year-old twin girls, were excited to see whether the villa would be as promising as shown on the website. In fact, we found a place to relax that was even better than we thought. The house and property were extremely clean with everything inside and outside the house properly working. The interior is luxurious. The master bedroom has not only air condition and vents but also shutters to prevent the bedroom from heating up during the day. When the sun was too much for the kids, they relaxed with available games, DVDs and WII. The girls also loved the intercom system which was connected to the radio playing music in all rooms and in the patio. The owners could be reached easily and the booking and any communication was done in a very friendly and assisting way. They offered us to use kayaks, free phone (within the US), free internet, bikes and had cell phones available which we did not need. Whenever we had any questions, they were immediately available with any assistance and recommendations. Obviously, we spent most time outside in the patio, the pool / whirlpool and the deck. Any meals were taken outside and we repeatedly used the BBQ for the fantastic beef and burgers from the supermarket nearby. The neighborhood is very peaceful and invites you to refreshing bike tours before the heat begins. Also nearby are marinas with excellent dining and shopping options as well as fast food chains. We definitely recommend this villa to families with kids who are old enough to enjoy the pleasures of this place and to couples visiting alone or with friends as there is sufficient space to keep privacy. We ourselves will surely return and all of us look forward to it.

Breathtaking home on canal

My husband and I visited our daughter and family in February at the wonderful Villa Portofino. From the moment you walk through the front door you are in awe of such a stunning home. Every room is beautifully appointed with no expensive spared on furnishings, bedding and extras that you would not normally find in a vacation home. The pool and lanai were a favourite with our family, where we spent lazy days by the pool and hot tub. Our grandchildren loved catching fish off the dock and riding bicycles that were provided. The evenings were spent eating outdoors in the beautful lanai area and watching the spectacular sunsets over the canal. Nadja and Freidrich were wonderful hosts and were helpful in explaining the highlights of the area for dining, sightseeing etc. The restaurants and shopping areas are close by within a 15-20 minute drive . I would highly recommend this beautiful home to anyone looking for the perfect holiday retreat.

We could write a novel about all of the wonderful things about this home and location....it was absolute luxury inside and out. This was our 5th year spending a month in Florida with our 2 young children and this house was a paradise for us - from the beautiful pool and hottub, to fishing off the private dock, to the bikes and kayaks that are provided. This home is immaculate and goes over and above anything I have seen in a vacation home. Each of us had our own private bedroom getaway and the layout of the home allowed for our guests to have the space to relax and enjoy each other's company. Nadja was the most pleasant and helpful owner any traveller could hope for and has a great appreciation for what makes a great vacation for her guests. We travelled out to many of the near locations such as Sanibel Island & Beaches, Fort Myers and the very close Harbour restaurants. All in all - extraordinary home in a great location.

Ein Traum

Portofino: der Name ist schon ein Begriff. Man stellt sich vor wunderschöne Häuser in einer schönen Umgebung. So ist es auch ! Das Haus ist sehr luxuriös, modern, nach europäischem Geschmack eingerichtet und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Obwohl wir das Haus im Internet schon sehr beeindruckend fanden, waren wir beim Betreten des Hauses sprachlos. Nadja ist eine sehr liebe und freundliche Gastgeberin und hat uns viele nützliche Tipps gegeben. Wir haben unseren Urlaub sehr genossen bis zur letzten Minute, inkl. wunderschöne Sonnenuntergänge. Da wir zusätzlich ein Motorboot gemietet hatten, konnten wir die umliegenden Gewässer erkunden und hatten tolle, unvergessliche Begegnungen mit Delphinen. Wir können dieses Ferienhaus nur weiterempfehlen. Mathilde und Franco

Exceeded expectations

The pictures of the house set high expectations, and these expectations were exceeded. The house was in excellent shape, and contained everything needed for an enjoyable stay. The "extras" like the bikes and kayaks made the visit all the more fun. The house and neighborhood were perfect for the kids, with plenty to keep them entertained in a safe environment. What made us even more comfortable was the attention and service we received from Nadja and the property manager Norbert. From my first communication with Nadja to our stay to checking out, the service was top notch and hassle free. It can be a gamble committing your vacation to a place you only see on the internet, but Nadja eliminated any hesitation we may have had by answering our endless questions and offering up suggestions that made our stay perfect. Norbert offered up excellent information when we checked in about the house and restaurants in the area. We committed our Christmas break to staying here, and would do it again without hesitation. Both the house and its owner exceeded our expectations and I would rent from Nadja again.

Perfect waterside retreat

Some years ago, we found Cape Coral to be the ideal location as a retreat from the busier tourist areas in Florida - it makes a great escape from the theme parks. Having stayed at many waterfront villas,this is in the ideal location for our family - it is highly recommended. There is something calming about being near the water... The area is quiet yet within a few minutes' drive of local shopping, not one but two marinas with good restaurants and of course Fort Myers is within easy reach. We also ventured to the huge Coconut Point and Gulf Coast malls which are open in the evenings and here you can eat at many brand name restaurants, visit the cinema etc. We spent our days fishing, reading and swimming in the infinity pool. The house is decorated in a bright, modern style with everything you could wish for including a widescreen tv. The separate lounge with fireplace makes a cosy retreat for the cooler months and the glass doors allow the light to brighten the house and to enjoy the outlook over the water whatever the weather . Nadja made us feel most welcome and we will definitely visit again. Our only worry was that the holiday was too short!

Nach mehreren Aufenthalten in Cape Coral können wir nur sagen: Villa Portofino war mit Abstand das schönste Ferienhaus bis jetzt. Die Ausstattung des Hauses ist hochwertig und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Die Betreuung war ebenfalls perfekt und die Eigentümer haben uns viele nützliche Tipps gegeben. Wir freuen uns schon auf ein Wiedersehen im nächsten Jahr. After numerous stays in Cape Coral we can only say that this was the best vacation home so far. Villa Portofino is absolutely stunning and the interior as well as all the equipment is top notch. We have been taken care of perfectly and the owners gave us many useful tips. PARADISE AT VILLA PORTOFINO

Thank you Nadia and Friedrich for letting us stay in your beautiful home. Enjoyed the sunsets over the canal. All the rooms were well clean and home was beautifully decorated. Layout of home was perfect for entertaining as well as relaxation by the pool/lanai. The home was located close to grocery store, restaurants and beach. We had rented homes in Cape Coral before but I must say this home was awesome. Would recommend to our friends/relatives. We had a wonderful vacation. Thanks again, Jim & Leah

Villa Portofino

Our winter stay at Villa Portofino turned out to be the most relaxing vacation we have had in a long time. Nadja and Fred were wonderful to work with and were so accomodating to our every whim. The house is as beautiful as it comes across on the internet. The house is facing west in the back so you see some beautiful sunsets over the canal and patio. I enjoyed cooking and entertaining in the kitchen. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and layed out so you could see the living room, family room, kitchen and patio at one time. Everything was clean and well maintained and if there was anything to be done it was done immediately. It is close to Cape Harbor and Tarpon Point...two nice places to eat and enjoy the view of the water. There's a very pretty beach in Cape Coral that is 15 minutes away. A Publix and an outdoor strip mall are just 5 minutes away. It is a house that is excellent for adults or adults with children. The pool and hot tub were a perfect place to relax and enjoy the view of the surrounding area. We would certainly recomend Villa Portofino to our friends and family. We are looking forward to next years time that we will be spending there. We couldn't have asked for a better place in Florida.

Dear Friedrich and Nadja First of all thank you for a wonderful vacation in Villa Portofino. There was such a good atmosphere in the house. We were actually a bit overwhelmed by the luxurious yet still functional decorating. Being back in Denmark again it’s mostly the patio we miss – to sit outside with the feet in the pool and enjoy the view over the canal. Our 8 months old baby definitely also had a great vacation! The house is stocked with all necessary baby equipment, for example a high chair. Since the pool is electrically heated so the temperature was perfect for him and he really enjoyed swimming! We also have to mention how great the service was – impressive! As so many other travellers we were trapped due to the volcanic ash. Luckily the house was available the following days and Nadja was extremely helpful! Thank you once again! Actually, we were happy to get a few more days in Villa Portofino- it was a wonderful vacation! We certainly recommend Villa Portofino! Best regards, Jakob and Charlotte
