It is a recently built semi detached house of approximately 1400 square feet in a culdesac of a quiet housing estate. The master bedroom has a Queen sized bed and an ensuite bathroom. The other 2 bedrooms, a set of bunk beds and a double, share a separate bathroom. All the towels and bed linen are stored in the hotpress with the hot water tank. There is also an army cot, for one person, that can be easily set up anywhere and a travel cot on request.
Downstairs kitchen and living area is open planned which makes the area feel very spacious. The conservatory has a large table which makes for a very peaceful and relaxing place to dine and have an evening drink. In winter the log burning stove can be lit very quickly which soon makes the whole area feel cosy. The area around the house has been fenced off to make a dog run, so is very secure for young children. The patio, which has access from the kitchen, makes a good area for barbecuing.
The area has world class Links golf, one of Britain's biggest sporting events "the North West 200", world heritage site "the Giant's Causeway", the coastal cliff path, Rathlin Island, the Glens of Antrim, ancient castles, great beaches with watersports, great cuisine and friendly pubs.

Our six day stay at this super comfortable home in Portrush was fantastic. The home was clean, bright, welcoming and super cozy.... felt just like home. The house had all of the amenities you could possibly need and more. We enjoyed coffee each morning and tea in the evenings in the lovely conservatory, there were games, tennis rackets and plenty of outdoor furniture to enjoy the great backyard. The home was in a great location, away from the hustle and bustle but within a short walk or quick drive to just about anywhere. We enjoyed all this beautiful area has to offer and had a great place to come home to each night. The homeowners where great to deal with and we appreciated them opening their holiday home up to us. We look forward to our next stay. Highly recommended!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

My wife, her parents from N. Ireland and I stayed at this property for 12 nights. It is a relatively new property in a nice area close to all the attractions in the North Antrium coast. However, the VRBO ad is somewhat misleading. The advertised "King" suite which was a primary reason for us renting is only a "Queen". There was no dishwasher, clothes dryer, local telephone, coffeemaker or alarm clocks in the bedrooms. Some of the livingroom furniture is very old and the room is missing a coffee and end tables. We used the floor for drinks etc. The new flat screen TV is small (only 20") and is a mismatch to the DVD player which did not work with the TV and never would. There were no cables connecting them together, but it did not matter as the DVD had only component video/S-video output and the TV required HDMI or computer input. This was disappointing as we took DVDs to watch knowing there was limited TV but we were unable to use them. The backyard is fenced in but the entire area is patio slab or stones. There is no grass area and there is no off street parking. We had some difficulty getting in upon arrival as the owner did not meet us. After some time, the neighbour (cousin of the owner) met us and pointed out the keys were under the front door mat. We never did see the owner through our 12 night stay (including when we left) although we found out sometime later (after getting e-mail access at public Wi-Fi) that he did send us an e-mail on the day of our arrival stating where we could find the keys. During our first night we froze to death! We found out through trial and error the next day that the heating system was in an operating mode that only allowed it to operate for a couple of hours twice a day. We again contact the cousin neighbour who helped us get this sorted. He noted the oil was very low and had the owner call for an oil delivery the next day. However, we continued to have problems with the heating system for our entire stay as it seemed to operate inconsistently. We used the fireplace alot to stay warm. Basic instructions (ie. how to use the heating system, get hot water, garbage and recycling pickup days etc.) were missing and should be provided by the owner. We travel to N. Ireland every couple of years but would not stay here again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, families with teenagers.

This home has everything that I love about my own home back in the U.S.A. The open kitchen/living area let us do our favorite things....cooking and chatting with our friends all night! The backyard was amazing, we barbequed and were able to set up some of our favorite games like washers and boche ball! When we were not at the house, we didn't have to go far at all to experience beautiful Ireland; the castles, golf courses, beaches, and most of all the fun local pubs! Most importantly, Jon and Lisa were GREAT! They were so warm, friendly and welcoming. All our questions were answered and we were never in need of anything, it was perfect and I can't wait to come back!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, romantic getaway.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2001
About the owner: I am married to Lisa and we have 3 children. A 5 year old girl a 2 year old boy and a recent addition a 2 week old boy. We live in a country market town with, 2 cats and a dog, 30 miles from the property. I have been a teacher for 22 years, the last 19 being with children who have special educational needs and Lisa is an intensive care nurse in Belfast. We enjoy traveling and are regular users of vrbo properties.
Why the Owner Chose Portrush:
As a small boy my brothers and I spent the whole summer holidays here with Mum at our grandparents whilst Dad stayed home through the week to work. Now I love the people, the abundance of great golf courses, restaurants and beaches for the dog.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
There is something about the seaside air that creates a relaxed and laid back atmosphere. It is so uplifting to be on the beach with the dog at 7:30am and to have whole the place to yourself, no matter what the weather.
