Spent a fabulous 2 weeks with Monika. Everything was perfect, including the setting, the accommodation itself, Salaam and of course Monika. Would return in a heartbeat. The suite was charming, the garden was an oasis and the location allowed us to access many of the highlights of Provence. Monica surprised us almost daily with various culinary delights plus fresh fruit and flowers from the garden and was extremely helpful and accommodating.

We were very delighted with our accommodations which included air conditioning, Wi Fi a great kitchen if you wanted to cook and a nice sized bathroom. There was a nicely maintained pool on the grounds. Most importantly it was a wonderful location to travel around to the hill towns of Luberon and to go to the nearby cities of Arles, Nimes and Avignon. Monika was a wonderful host and provided us with trip suggestions and restaurants to go to- the cottage was also loaded with books and maps to help navigate the area. We would definitely stay there again.

Our week at the lovely cottage in Tallides was easily the best part of a month long trip to France and England. Our hostess Monika was the most welcoming and pleasant person. The property is even more beautiful than the photos on the website. Cavaillon is located in the middle of just about every site worth visiting. The Luberon Valley is an amazing jumble of hill towns, vineyards, and Roman Ruins. Everything is within an easy drive from the cottage. The longest drive, to Cassis was a bit over an hour away, and perhaps our favorite day trip. Monika made the process of understanding and finding our way around the area a breeze. Her market and restaurant recommendations were excellent. Our best meal was in her own farmhouse kitchen. Best Osso Bucco and polenta ever!!. best of all we made a wonderul new friend for life. If you go here, and you should, Say hello to Salam the sweetest watch dog you will ever meet.

We booked 2 weeks at the villa after a few days we felt that there were far too many checks being carried out on a daily basis of the use of everything in and around the cottage. We were constantly being watched an example was one evening having drinks with some friends at the cottage were were asked to be quiet at 8.40pm so Monica can rest, we were very dissapointed with the way we were being treated, we never felt like we could really relax, the property is up for sale so maybe new owners would be more accomodating to visitors in the cottage. The cottage was very well presented but is located in an industrial area which isnt mentioned in any of the details advertised. I would only recommend this to people who need constant interaction with the owner and have no knowledge of the area and places of interest.
Owner response:One negative comment in seven years, and 36 'five star' reviews, I think this only adds credibility to the VRBO guestbook... and I can live with it! It is regretful, though, that the guests did not tell me personally what they did not like, when we shared an aperitif... it would have been more fair, no?

We had a lovely stay at Sheherazade. The apartment was exactly as described and perfect for our needs. Monika was always to hand with useful tips and advice and we thoroughly enjoyed the company of her fury friends! We managed to explore all of the surrounding area and had some superb meals out in the many restaurants. A lovely holiday which we will be talking about for years to come!

There are not enough superlatives to describe our experience touring Provence by day and coming "home" to our charming and comfortable apartment at night. It was truly a highlite of our 8 weeks of travel last spring. All of the conveniences you can imagine are provided for your use (and then some--what was one do with 3 different types of coffee pots?) in this lovely and well-equipped apt. Leave your tour books at home...Monika will have the best suggestions and will make reservations for you if you need them, plus get you there (and home...no easy feat in Provence!) with her GPS. We loved our unique lunch at a goat farm, arranged by Monika. What great memories we have. Thank you Monika. Carol and Terry Gilbert

This was a wonderful place to explore the Hill towns of Provence. Although close to the boulangerie, super market and restaurants yet a peaceful, very private oasis. We loved getting fresh produce from the local farms. Monika was the perfect host with many great ideas for exploring the area. One week is not enough to see all you will want to see. We have wonderful memories of this place!

This was the most wonderful place to stay for a base to explore the Hill towns of Provence. Very close to the boulangerie, supermarket and restaurants but very quiet and private. We enjoyed buying fresh produce from the local farms. Monika was a wonderful host and a very helpful tour guide as well. One week is not long enough to stay here, there is so much to see.

My wife and I spent a lovely week at Monika's oasis and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Everything is as per the photographs. This property has many great features (as mentioned by other guests) but one of the best is that we virtually had the pool to ourselves. Our preferred routine was to visit any outdoor sites as early in the day as possible and then spend the afternoon in the pool or lounging around "our" yard, under the plane tree. And Monika was always available to provide knowledgeable answers to any questions we might have - she certainly knows Provence!

We were fortunate enough to stay with Monika in early June this year. Our only regret was not having enough time to spend at her lovely home (what with all the wonderful sites around). The grounds and home were beautiful and Monika could not have been more welcoming. Her four legged friends made it all the more fun! Nothing is too much for Monika to make her guests comfortable and she even gladly helped out when I needed to find a dentist! I would not hesitate to stay here again or to recommend Sheherazade to friends and family. Merci Monika!!!

We stayed here the first week of July. The studio met all of our needs and the swimming pool was very welcome at the end of a long day sight seeing. We were close to many lovely towns and villages. The scenery took our breath away. Monika is a very charming host and was very gracious to us with a little problem we had. A very memorable holiday for us.

We stayed at this lovely property for two weeks 9/15/2007 - 9/29/2007, and would highly recommend it for any couples who want to explore the Provence region from a very central location. The apartment was very nicely decorated and contained everything needed for a lovely Provencal holiday. Monika is a very charming and knowledgable hostess and an excellent cook. We wished we could have stayed longer.

We have spent more than 10 holidays in Provence over the years and have stayed in some very nice accommodation. This studio, however, takes the cake. It is superbly appointed and equipped, is situated in a beautiful and tranquil garden and is hosted by warm and friendly Monica. We recommend it highly. We have only just returned home and have already made our booking for 2008.

This was my first trip to France and Scheherazade was the ideal place to stay. I came with a friend and we both loved the area and Monika! We took day trips all around the region, to Avignon Arles, Les Baux, Aix and the Chateauneuf de Pape to name a few. Monika recommended several good restuarants and places to see. She was very gracious and is a very good cook. She also helped me out by making a call to rental car company to help me work out a problem. I only wish we could have stayed longer. It really was heaven and I can't wait to return.

We had SUCH a lovely time staying at Sheherazade in August 2006. It was our honeymoon and it provided the perfect mix of peace and luxury for this unique holiday. Monika was utterly fantastic, making our stay superb by giving helpful advice and lots of special touches to our stay. The accommodation itself was as spotless and wonderful as all the comments I had read said it was! We had a truly amazing time and hope very much to return soon. Thank you so much Monika!

We spent a week in this lovely place. It was without doubt the best equipped self-catering accomodation that we have had, and that rarity, a place perfect for two people. We enjoyed the location - perfect for trips to several delightful hill- top villages, the weather - very warm but not too hot (first week in September), the peace and privacy of the garden, the wonderful fresh organic fruit growing there, the swimming pool to yourself, and last but not least - Monika's friendly hospitality.

Everything at Sheherazade has been just as wonderful during our second stay (July 2006) as we remembered from last time. This remains a very special place for two (or three) people to rest and unwind in spacious luxury. We took advantage of new low-cost flights into Marseille airport, only 40 minutes drive away. The ideal location of the apartment not too far from the autoroute allows for great access to a wide range of places to visit. Monika is a lovely host with a wealth of advice and she is happy to be as discreet or as companiable as you would prefer. We valued her continuing improvements, including luxury bath-robes and the addition of air conditioning, which was especially appreciated in this year's extreme heat! This time around we booked for next year before leaving. We look forward to sharing the beauty of Sheherazade and Provence with our daughter who cannot any longer resist joining us in this peaceful idyll.

Our family of three had a wonderful one week stay in Provence. Monika's studio was perfect! Spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Though it was blisteringly hot during our visit we came home from our sightseeing each day to a lovely pool and we all slept well thanks to the air conditioning in the studio. The location worked very well for us. We were within easy reach of so many wonderful places including the Sunday market at l'Isle-sur-la Sorgue, Les Baux-de-Provence, Gorde, Bonnieux and numerous other villages (not to mention Joël Durand's chocolate shop in St-Remy-de-Provence - see his web site). The studio is also an easy 90 minute drive to the coastal town of Cassis and les Calanques. Our only regret was that we could not stay longer ....

We spent a wonderfully relaxing week at Sheherezade in March. Monika's welcome could not have been warmer even though the outside temperature was unseasonably chilly! The apartment is charming, airy and comfortable with a superbly equipped kitchen. Cavaillon is brilliantly situated for exploring the beautiful countryside and hill towns nearby, and magnificent sites such as the Pont du Gard. Fascinating Arles, Avignon and Aix en Provence are all within a short drive and the Camargue and coast within easy reach. With new delights to explore every day a week simply wasn't long enough! Monika is a mine of helpful information, a lively and generous host and a great cook!

We agree that the Sheherazade studio and its surroundings are even more beautiful than the attractive prospect created on the website. A superb holiday home - spacious, well-equipped, strikingly decorated and furnished inside and with such lovely gardens, large pool area and private terrace to enjoy outdoors. Sheherazade is that rare thing in self-catering holiday accommodation - a luxury holiday solution for couples (or groups of three). The new spa and sauna suite is a super bonus. Monika is a generous and charming host, offering practical recommendations on places to visit. We made numerous trips to nearby villages along quiet country roads (even in July) and, further afield, to Avignon and a taste of the Med in Cassis. We had such a wonderful, relaxing time, with so much else to discover in Provence, that we have already made a reservation for next Summer - only two days after returning home!

We have just spent a wonderful two weeks with Monika at her beautiful property in Provence. The accommodation was truly luxurious with everything you could wish for and was situated in a peaceful and tranquil oasis. Monika was the perfect hostess and looked after us very well, but was never intrusive. The local area is very beautiful with lots of places to explore, but best of all we enjoyed relaxing with a glass of wine in the garden in the shade of the plane trees, with a dip in the pool to cool off from time to time!

We spent three glorious weeks at Monika’s beautiful studio apartment in May 2005 and hope to return on a regular basis. She is a fabulous host, generous and kind, and we would frequently return from a day’s outing to find a delicious treat on our counter (she is an excellent cook!). The spacious studio is immaculate, tastefully decorated, and well-equipped. The location is ideal, no more than a short drive to any number of interesting villages and vineyards and perfect for simply lounging in the large garden or taking a dip. Thank you, Monika, for making this such a special holiday!

Sheherezade is truly a dream of a gite - every comfort is catered for - and Monika is the most wonderful and generous hostess. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel so welcome. We spent our first week just lazing around and visiting the area. There's so much to see and do. The second week was spent visiting Immobilliers and looking for a 'little bit of Paradise' for ourselves! Certainly Sheherezade and especially Monika have provided us with a most memorable stay. Thank you Monika and we hope to see you again soon.

We very much enjoyed two weeks from 28 May to 12 June 2004 in the apartment attached to the old Mas - Sheherazade. With an attractive Morrocan theme, the apartment is exceptionally spacious, well maintained and fitted and very clean. The terrace overlooks the lovely garden which includes ancient plane trees and majestic cypresses. The pool is a good size and we normally had it to ourselves. If more privacy was required, the apartment has a second terrace with comfy sunbeds. We've rented numerous houses in France and this is definitely in the top two. The location is excellent, being very close to the beautiful villages of the area and the larger towns of Cavaillon, Apt and St Remy de Provence are within easy driving distance. Old Les Taillades and Robion are on the doorstep and are great examples of villages where local life continues without too much tourism. Our thanks go to Monika who looked after us very well with information, mint tea and cake!

Thank you for the wonderful stay Nigel and I had in your beautiful apartment. The location is in a wonderful position for sightseeing and yet so quiet and private. We felt so fortunate to be away from the "touristy" part of Provence but still very close to all the popular destinations as required. To wake up in the mornings and see the beautiful view out the doors was heavenly. We were out exploring every day. Your recommendations were wonderful and most appreciated. Some of our favourites were St. Remy de Provence, Les Baux de Provence, Vaison La Romaine, the fantastic markets at Isle sur La Sorgue and don't miss Pont du Gard. It was always such a delight to return to our little piece of heaven each evening. The apartment has absolutely everything you could possibly need. It is beautifully furnished and has an extremely modern and spacious bathroom and kitchen. Most of all, thank you Monika for your gracious hospitality and generosity. We certainly hope to return one day.

There were many things that made Sheherazade special for us. First, the location is outstanding. It takes only minutes to drive to many of the most picturesque and interesting spots in Provence. Our first day, the owner marked our map with places to visit...places we might have otherwise missed. We were never disappointed. Each spot delighted us. The beautiful grounds and pool are outstanding, and the studio is equipped with many luxuries you don't find in a hotel or a condo in the States...there's even a hot water bottle, an electric towel warmer, and books in every language. The owner's thoughtfulness and guidance made this trip a lot like having a personal tour guide, while not sacrificing our privacy and ability to go where we pleased at our own pace. It was a great experience, and we highly recommend it to others.
