My husband and I really enjoyed the casita and Laurie was a wonderful host. We really enjoyed the roof-top patio and the sunsets. This was a wonderful way to have more room while visiting my mom in the area. Discription of the unit was accurate and the huge closet was super to store all of our things. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a get away in the Mesa area.

The hosts were very accommodating. The casita was well-stocked with useful extras. The views were outstanding and the lodging was tastefully decorated and very clean. We would definitely schedule a return visit.

We stayed at the Casita for three days in September – The Casita is exactly as described and was perfect for our stay in Mesa. The location is right in the desert which was so peaceful and relaxing. Michael and Lauri were wonderful hosts ensuring we had everything we needed as well as having the kitchen stocked with breakfast items including fresh coffee beans. We enjoyed having coffee on the patio in the morning watching the sunrise over Superstition Mountain and desert animals. And when we returned in the evening, we enjoyed having a glass of wine on the rooftop deck watching the sun set. Would definitely recommend staying at the Casita and hopefully we can visit again one day.

We greatly enjoyed our 9-night stay in this ‘casita’, a ‘mother in law’ unit attached to the main house of our congenial and helpful hosts, Michael and Lauri. Due to a delayed flight, we arrived several hrs later than scheduled on Xmas Eve, but our hosts had not only rearranged their holiday plans, but assisted in finding a grocery store that was still open. The casita’s fridge and pantry were well stocked with everything we would need for a week’s worth of breakfasts – cereal, milk, bread, eggs, sausage, coffee, etc. – and many other useful items such as sugar, spices, salt & pepper, cooking oil. All the counter top appliances we needed for making meals were present, even an electric coffee grinder! Michael assisted in getting our netbook connected to their WiFi, and we surfed the net flawlessly. The location of the rental – in an unincorporated area between E. Mesa and Apache Junction – was perfect for us. We spent most of our days hiking, in the nearby Superstition Mtns., McDowell Mtns., or in the adjacent Usery Mtn. Park. Having our post-hike refreshments on the rooftop deck, while watching the sunset and the desert wildlife became part of our evening ritual, usually followed by preparing our supper on the gas BBQ on the patio. We look forward to staying at this peaceful, economical casita on our next trip to Phoenix.!
