the house was large and comfortable for six adults. It was great to have three bedrooms and three baths! the house was well stocked with linens including beach towls, paper products and kitchen equipment. It was quiet, even though we were near the pool and it was busy in afternoon, quiet after closing 9p and in fact pool locked until 8a when opened. Plenty of TVs for entertainment although not great TV watcher. The one car garage was very narrow and had to maneuver mid size SUV carefully in. resort was very nice although not at resort alot---out and about-- but neighboring Kapolei with food stores, other shoppping, restarurants and gas stations very convenient. Lagoons very pleasant and not too crowded maybe because parking is very limited. I drove speed 25mph through resort but seemed to have plenty of drivers going faster. All in all a great vacation and I would definitely go back to Ko Olina and to Murdock property. thanks so much.

We thought this rental home was very nice and included everything we needed for a wonderful stay! The only issue was when the sink in the upstairs main bath was turned on there seemed to be some pipes vibrating which would make a loud noise. Otherwise, the accomodations were perfect.

Beautiful Ko'Olina Villa!

We loved our stay in Ko'Olina, and we absolutely loved staying here! The property was exactly what we expected given the description and pictures, so we were thrilled! The neighborhood is gated and feels very safe and secure. The condo itself is incredibly clean and well taken care of, and there are so many little "extras"... small appliances, shampoo and soap, a sweet welcome basket (which was perfect, we were very hungry when we got there!). Munro and Rachel definitely make the place welcoming and comfortable! The Ko'Olina area is different from Honolulu and Waikiki, which is exactly what we were looking for... If you're looking for crazy night life, this will not be the place for you. If you're looking for somewhere beautiful and peaceful and completely serene, you will love this area!! The actual location of the condo is quite a walk from the Ko'Olina lagoons, but my parents did the walk multiple times each day and loved it. (The lagoons are so beautiful and definitely my very favorite thing about this area.) There is also a pool right behind the property, although you do have to walk around a few condos to get there and can't get through right behind the villa. Most of us went to the pool at least once per day, and the walk was not a big deal at all... a minute or so... No problem! The pool area is beautiful and reminds me of an expensive resort. Loved it! You could spend a lot of relaxing pool/lagoon/sun time in the Ko'Olina area. The Paradise Cove Luau (right in the Ko'Olina community) is wonderful! I've done it twice now and we absolutely love it! If you're wanting to see a little more, Pearl Harbor was about 25 mins away, and Waikiki was about 45 (give or take a little depending on traffic, which can be a big issue or no issue at all, depending on the time/day). If it's your first time to Oahu, I absolutely love the drive up the H3 to Kaneohe and Kailua, it's so pretty! And not like any roads we have in the midwest, lol.... From the beginning, Munro and Rachel were incredibly helpful and gracious to work with, and I have nothing but good things to say about my experience here. I absolutely recommend this property to someone who is looking for a beautiful, safe, comfortable and peaceful place to stay in the Ko'Olina area.If we're ever lucky enough to head back to Oahu, we would absolutely not hesitate to stay here again. Many thanks to the Murdoch family. From the moment I booked this condo and asked questions about it Munro was exceptionally helpful and very kind. Upon arriving at the condo everything and more than what was said. The villa is fully stocked with all appliances and amenities that you would require a family or two. very comfortable furniture was like new well appointed. proximity to the pool was the best you can get in the complex right next door. the use of the phone for incoming calls, Cablevision, Internet worked excellent. The welcome gift basket was a nice touch as we were hungry for some quick snacks upon arriving. the garage housed everything for going to the beach for the day's chairs beach mats snorkeling gear. what can I say this place has everything and is beautiful. my family and I will definitely stay here again next year

This house itself was everything we hoped for...Very clean and well kept...Welcome basket was very nice...Thanks..The owners were very polite and helpful and easy to contact if issues were to arise..There was one slight irritant although not a deal-breaker..;To me," Poolside" means walk out your backdoor and dive in but once there,we found that you can`t access the pool through your backyard even though it`s right there...A fence stands in your way(for safety of course)..We had to send someone ahead of us and pass him our pool items over the fence then join him by walking half a block to pool entrance..Don`t forget anything because it`s a half block away.....We only did this twice in 9 days(too much hassle).. ..Probably considered a short walk by most but we are not "Walkers"..We are out-of-shape Canadians(and love it)...Just my opinion that Poolside should not be in the title...Little bit misleading.We would have been at the pool every day if it was actually accessible from our backyard...On a different note a vehicle of some kind is a must..Even though there`s a small push cart in the garage for carrying items,Ko-olina is a very big place and walking is not practical..Everything is,in my out-of-shape-non-walker opinion,far enough away to warrant a vehicle to effectively go to the lagoons or restaurants or shopping for groceries..Go and see Rick at Kailua Segway and try those out...You will love it..Also try North Shore Shark cage and a 14,000 foot drop out of a plane at North Shore Skydiving..The atv ride at Kualua ranch was amazing...In closing,we had a great time in Hawaii and if direct access to a pool via your backyard is not high on your priority list, you will love this property...

The condo was a perfect fit for the six of us and was exactly what I thought it would be. My daughter and family (husband, two children - 13 & 10) were with us and they stayed in the upstairs bedrooms which left the downstairs for my husband and me. The kitchen is very well equipped and we ate all of our breakfasts there plus most dinners. It is in a beautiful location and easy to get to if you avoid the rush hours. There is a Costco, Target and Safeway nearby and other stores and restaurants in the shopping area. Beach equipment for snorkeling and boogie boarding are there for use which was a pleasant surprise because then we didn't have to rent them. Also, the convenience of a washer and dryer and washing detergent was much appreciated. I would definately recommend this condo to a friend or relative and I have told everyone how nice it is.

Beautiful Ko'Olina Villa

Our family was in awe with this rental property. The villa was beautifully decorated, extremely well-equipped and in such a gorgeous community. The villa was conveniently located within walking distance to Ko'Olina's famous lagoons, the Aulani Disney hotel, Roy's restaurant, Just Tacos restaurant and two lively Luaus. It was also within reasonable driving distance to North Shore and Waikiki. We truly enjoyed our stay and hope to return to this same rental property in a few years with our family.

This was absolutely one on the best locations on the island. The property was clean and maintained. Everything you could possibly need was provided including small applicances and paper products. It is only a short walk to just about everything at the resort. The ABC store has wonderful sandwiches and salads, as well as groceries. Although a bit pricy, the golf course is outstanding and an excellent place to play. I would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a nice relaxing vacation!

This was the perfect vacation rental for our family of 7. The home was well-stocked and extremely clean. This was a perfect location, close to the beach, close to shopping. The kids had a great time exploring the 4 lagoons, especially with the sea turtles there. The pool was practically in the back yard (except for the fence). The owners were very helpful throughout the entire rental process. We wish we could have stayed longer and would easily return. It is soooooo relaxing there! Thank you so much!

Vacation at KoOlina

My family and I had a wonderful stay at this two story townhouse in KoOlina. With our three young grand children ages 9, 7 and 4 and four adults, the three bedroom and three bath home was perfect for our needs. The unit was wonderfully furnished and had all of the household items for a vacation home including pool and ocean play items for the children like a buggy board and tube. The master bedroom was set apart so we could let the kids play and escape if we wanted to and best of all was the community pool and barbeque in back and next to the unit.

We had a fabulous stay at the 3bd villa with our two young kids and 85 year old grandmother. The townhome was very clean, well-appointed, family-friendly and very, very comfortable. The downstairs bedroom is next to a full bath. The upstairs bedrooms are roomy. There was a lovely welcome basket waiting for us on arrival which was a godsend as the kids were family famished. The complex's location is ideal. You are 30 minutes out of the hustle bustle of Waikiki but easily can get to all points of the island. The lagoons are beautiful and perfect for families. They are about a 15 minute walk from the townhome with little kids in tow, but you can drive to them easily. The pool is adjacent to your backdoor and offers a lovely water feature. Unfortunately, there is no BBQ at the house, but you can use the ones at the pool. Consider the Super Target one exit away for groceries (not fresh produce). It's much, much cheaper than the Safeway. Overall, we would stay again in a heartbeat and would recommend the home highly to anyone traveling to Oahu.

Owner response:Aloha and thank you for the review Joanne. Yes, the HOA does not allow Villas to have private BBQ grills on the lanais due to the associated fire hazard. However, as you mentioned in your review, the 3 BBQ grills and cabanas near the pool work out well. Our 4bd vacation home in Ko Olina does have a large propane BBQ grill on the rear lanai as the HOA does allow them for the stand-alone single family homes. Your shopping tips are appreciated as well. Kapolei does offer a nice variety of options for shopping and Target does have some of the better deals in the area. Mahalo!

I just got back from staying at the Murdock's 3 Bedroom Villa in Ko Olina. It was better in person than the pictures and I already thought the pictures looked good before staying there. We stayed at the Murdock's Ko Olina Kai Townhome in December 2010. It was a perfect place to stay while visiting family in Oahu.! Beautiful neighborhood, pool, and immaculate interior. Loved the beach chairs, towels and cooler! It was so nice to have these available for use. We were so pleased with how clean, comfortable and well equipped the townhome was. The kids absolutely loved swimming with the turtles at Paradise Cove. We have been telling all of our friends about this townhome - it is a great place to stay for a fantastic price. November in Paradise

We had three couples visit, two of whom had't been to Hawaii before. They all were very happy with the site. The home looked just like the photos on the website and the description on the site captured it all. There was plenty of room for hanging out together as well as places to get away from each other. The home had everything needed to cook meals, which saved money on take-out. The location was great for daily walks to the beautiful beach. The pool was nearby and was used to work on tans. We would recommend the home to others and already plan to rent it again this year when a new set of visitors arrive.

To start with, I will say that I am very meticulous and choosy when it comes to where we would stay on vacations. Cleanliness is foremost. I would recommend this vacation villa without hesitation to anyone who seeks the following: immaculate, clean, homey, comfortable, provision for vacation needs (such as towels, beach chairs,etc). Location wise, you can't ask for any better. The lagoons are a short walking distance through a beautiful rolling golf course. Also in the resort area is a small scale place to go shopping for groceries.souvenirs, along with two restaurants, and an ice cream parlor, There are other facilties within the resort area where you can go for a Luau. Walking the beautiful grounds is an enjoyable experience. The breathtaking sunset can be experienced from the lagoons. The proximity to the freeway entrance and to the town center is also a plus. . The over all experience starting with the first contact with management was extraordinary. The property manager was very pleasant, helpful, responsive, and accessible according to my husband who made the transaction. Every effort was made to make us feel welcome. The tray of goodies when we arrived was a testament. I would would give this place a five star rating. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay at the villa. For me it was a home away from home in every aspect of the word. If we were to go back to the island, this will be the play to stay.

Clean and spacious townhome that was perfect for our family of 5 adults and one child. Everything we needed was in the house or within a 5 minute drive. The owners have thought of everything. The pool behind the house is pristine and the surrounding golf course is beautiful. As a first-timer to VRBO, I had a lot of questions for the owner who was extremely responsive and made the logistics very easy. My family and I will definitely be back for future stays.

We absolutely loved our stay at Ko Olina Kai! Firstly, the security of the gated community meant we could relax and enjoy. The entire Ko Olina area was beautiful! We loved being away from the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, but still close enough that the entire island was easily accessible. When we first arrived we were surprised that the condo was even nicer than it looks in photos!! It was clean and very well appointed, the kitchen was filled with great-quality appliances and utensils, and the bathrooms had a large supply of towels to cater for our 11-day stay. The instructions we were given prior to arrival were clear and concise and made our 'check-in' hassle-free. During our stay, when we did have a question or an issue, it was answered and resolved straight away and with no fuss at all. We tried to see as much of the whole island during our stay, so we were out for most of the time, but it was great to come back each day to a place that felt like coming home! We really appreciated the Safeway membership card - it saved us a great deal on our grocery shopping! Kapolei is nice and close, and had everything we needed from department stores, restaurants, petrol stations and takeaway food outlets. We really loved our stay here - we will be recommending it to anyone wanting a great holiday in a fabulous place! Will definitely be back!

We stayed here for 9 days in March 2010. We celebrated my son's third birthday with friends who flew in from Seattle. We all enjoyed our stay and plan on returning. We traveled all over the island and the Lagoon's have the most calm swimming for kids. My brother chartered a fishing boat at the local Marina (which is 2 minutes away). He caught two Marlins, one weighing two hundred pds, the other at least over 600 pds. Just a few miles off shore. I loved the gated community. My son still ask's Mommie when can we go back. We had a fabulous time at the Murdock's beautiful home in the Ko Olina Resort. We loved having a kitchen to all eat breakfast together in and pack lunches for daytime adventures like climbing Diamond Head, going to Pearl Harbor, or a quick trip to one of the lagoons. With the BBQ area near by, it made it fun to cook up some great meals and enjoy the pool and jacuzzi together. We had quite the family reunion and our married kids each had their own rooms and bathrooms, which made it so pleasurable. There was plenty of room to spread out and having a laundry was ideal for cleaning up after a day at the beach. We spent time traveling to the North Shore and seeing the sights of the Polynesian Cultural Center, the LDS temple, and BYU-Hawaii where one of our sons had attended a few years ago. We would love to return again in the future. Thank you for a memorable week!

What a wonderful place to stay! The furnishings were in great shape and it was decorated beautifully. The Villa had a nice pool close by and 4 beatiful lagoons that were just a short golf cart ride away. No disappointments!

(The guest emailed us the following comment and asked that it be added to the online Guestbook) We wish our stay was longer at the Ko'Olina Kai Villa - by Murdock's. The picture did not do it justice. The villa was beautiful & Very clean !!! & the Murdock's thought of everything you would need as if you were at your own home! The kitchen had everything you would need & more! Never short of towels for the lagoon or pool. For a townie, the Villa was extremely quiet - day & night. They had also provided a guide book for activities & directions - Very thoughtful even for a local who is new to Kapolei area! We are already planning our next visit to Murdock's Villa! Thank you Murdock's for a wonderful time!!!

We loved every minute of our stay in the Ko Olina Villa. It had everything we needed and so much more. We loved the proximity to the pool and the lagoons were absolutely beautiful and perfect for the grandkids. The villa is so beautifully decorated it makes you feel like you are in paradise both inside and out. We loved it!!

We had the vacation of a lifetime at the Ko' Olina resort! The Villa was truly fully outfitted with everything from flat screen TV's all over the place to wireless high-speed internet throughout. Super clean and tons of fun. Everyone loved being able to drive the golf cart around to community and especially to the private lagoons that were any family's paradise on earth. Can't wait to go again!

We have stayed at Ko Olina Kai every year for 4 years now! It is absolutely our family vacation destination of choice. The Villa is beautiful and completely outfitted with everything we could possibly need to have a great stay! Love the pool, jacuzzi and bbq area so close. We already have our booking to go back in 2010!

What a fantastic, luxurious time we had there! The Villa was beautifully decorated, clean, very well furnished & very comfortable. The area was quiet, and almost felt secluded, but is still close enough to grocery, shopping, Costco, restaurants, etc. to be convenient. The Ko Olina resort and 4 sheltered lagoons are our new favorite place to swim, sun & relax. We went SCUBA diving at a nearby wreck and snorkeled around the lagoons...we even found some green sea turtle friends! The Ihilani Marriott there has excellent dining and the best breakfast buffet we've EVER experienced. If any of your party enjoy golfing, they'll love it here. A short freeway run gets you to/from the Airport, Honolulu, Waikiki, Pearl Harbor, or you're well positioned to run up to the North Shore... Sunset Beach, Banzai Pipeline, Waimea Bay & Falls, Haleiwa, Polynesian Cultural Center, LDS Temple, etc. Come back from your fun at the lagoons or golf course, relax in the pool or hot tub, with the BBQ going nearby, and watch the setting sun. You'll love Ko Olina like we do when you go!

I was very impressed with the Ko Olina Resort overall and the Estate Home we stayed in was beautiful, clean and comfortable. Everything we needed for a pleasant stay was provided and I loved having a kitchen. It made our vacation so much more affordable because we could cook at "home" instead of eating out for every meal. Also I loved all the living space and having our kids stay in their own rooms. So much better than all of us being crowded into a single hotel room, yet the price was comparable to hotel prices in Waikiki. We rented a golf cart which made it so easy to get to the beach everyday. I think it took us about 5 minutes to get from the home to the lagoons. We will definitely be back! Thank you so much.

The Kai Villa we stayed in was very comfortable for our family of 5. Kitchen has everything you need and more. My wife and I stayed in the downstairs bedroom and let our son and daughter- inlaw have the master. Our bedroom had plenty of room and the kids loved having a huge master bedroom and bath with its private balcony. My other son stayed in the 2nd upstairs bedroom that has a bathroom next to it. His room was also large. All beds were very comfortable. TV's in every room in case anyone wants to be by themselves. The home has all the comforts of our own home. The beach lagoons are close as well as the marina. The pool, and hot tub is close. A nice gated community! We will come back!
