One can get quite a bang for the buck with this lovely home. My husband and I celebrated his 40th birthday with 4 other friends and we were all very comfortable in and outside the home. It was centrally located to the mountain bike trails we rode, which was the focus of the weekend. The weather was very pleasant and we took advantage of the outdoor dining table and played a few rounds of horseshoes. It would have been nicer to have 2 stakes for the shoes as opposed to just one, but we made it work. The house was well equipped with kitchen gadgets, even a cookie sheet to make fresh cookies, and there were plenty of towels to go around. If we come back to Tucson for more riding we would definitely stay here again! Thanks for the warm welcome!Owner response: Love your review of the home we call 'Rancho.' It is centrally located to everything. Thank you, Carrie and I hope next time you are visiting that you will stay with us again and hopefully for a week or more. By next year, we'll see about the 2nd stake! Your very kind words are heartfelt. Happy trails! Sue

We enjoyed our stay! The house was a perfect home base for visiting family in the Tucson area. We even hosted about 15 relatives for a barbeque with room to spread out both indoors and out. The house was well equipped with everything we needed. The outdoor patios, sauna, hot tub, and fire pit helped make it a relaxing vacation. Great location close to shopping and restaurants, yet in a quiet neighborhood. Our dog, Bailey, liked the back yard and morning walks. Sue was attentive and accomodating. Would stay again. Thanks, Sue.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, pet owners.
Owner response: Pam, thank you so much for your stellar review of 'Rancho.' So glad you had fun in Tucson with all your relatives. Your kind words mean so much to us. Please stay with us again when you come to Tucson! Best wishes, Sue

My husband, myself and our 2 dogs were very comfortable at this property. The best part of this rental is the huge yard which we made much use of. The house was comfortable and every thing was maintained well. We thought this location was great in that it was close to our friends in Oro Valley, yet convenient to all the activities. We enjoyed walking this safe neighborhood and met many nice people during our walks. This is our third time renting in this area, so knew the area well. Enjoyed the Marketplace Theaters, all of the great restaurants, Sabino Canyon hiking, the 4th Street Fair and a Broadway show. Would come back again and again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, pet owners.
Owner response: Jeanne and Dennis, Glad you had a great time at 'Rancho.' Your comments are greatly appreciated. Please visit us again- we would love to have you! Sue

We like this home so much we have rented it for a month three times. The house is roomy and comfortable, and is in a quiet residential neighborhood. The large backyard has a nice patio, perfect for sitting to read a book or just look up at the Catalinas.Stores and restaurants are nearby---Michealangelos, El Chorro, Blue Fin, Harvest Moon, etc. a good place to relax. ,Recommended for: Sightseeing.
Owner response: John and Jane, Thank you so much for telling other folks how nice it is to stay at our home we call 'Rancho.' Looks like you found some great places to eat as well! Glad you stayed with us. Take care. Warmest regards, Sue

My husband, me, and our 2 dogs stayed at the Rancho over Christmas week. We loved the home. It was comfortable, well-decorated, and very convenient to shopping, restaurants, the YMCA, Saguaro National Park, and Catalina state park. The extremely large yard was perfect for our dogs, Oskar and Sophie. The hot tub and sauna were wonderful after a long day sight-seeing. Also, we all enjoyed the Gambel's quail running and calling to each other in the green space next door. We loved the area and look forward to our return in 2014.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This property provides a wonderful getaway, especially if you're fleeing a northern winter. The house is comfortable, with a well-equipped kitchen. The expansive backyard offers a mesmerizing mountain view from the hot tub, the sauna or the patio. This part of Oro Valley is particularly convenient to both downtown Tucson and the magnificent desert wilderness. Good restaurants, retail and services are right nearby. The owners are very helpful if questions arise. In all, a fine option for vacationing.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Peter, You must stay with us again. We appreciate your kind words you stated about our home and its location. It is certainly centrally located to just about everything a person would want to do while visiting, and the views are drop dead gorgeous. We look forward to hearing from you to book for next year. Best wishes, Sue

Sue, Thank you so much for opening 'Rancho' to us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the home and in the area. It was very hard to leave! We had a wonderful time. We all loved the back yard!!! I had not realized it was fenced. It was perfect for the dogs. They had plenty of room to run, play, and explore. We enjoyed the fire pit, sauna, and hot tub, as well. The home was comfortable, beautiful, and well-appointed. Thanks again! Happy New Year. We plan to return by 2014!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

We were looking for a location in the Oro Valley to attend a cousin's reunion. The description was right on and perfect our first visit to Tucson. The home was wonderful for our needs; very roomy and comfortable with all the conviences of home. The photos were only outdone by the actual beauty of the home, yard, sunrises and sunsets. Everything was well maintained and very clean. We would certainly recommend this property to friends and family. The owners were most friendly, honest and very helpful. We were very pleased with the entire experience. Many many thanks!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+.

We stayed at the house for about ten days. It was comfortable (especially the master bed), clean and had all the necessary items for the stay. Great sunrises and sunsets. Big yard in a quite neighborhood at a reasonable rate which is hard to beat. We also enjoyed the hot tub. Unexpectedly I was able to watch my Giants and 49ers win on Direct TV. We look forward to doing this again sometime in the future. P.S. Very prompt in returning our security deposit. JSRecommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners.

Our party of 3 absolutely loved this house. Lots of room and very nice but also comfortable. Close to everything but very private. Open space next to it and well placed, mature landscaping shields you from the closest neighbors. Very quiet area. Spent a lot of time out on the patio, which is shaded from the hot afternoon sun. Fantastic view of Pusch Ridge (which is practically in the back yard) - makes you feel like you're in the country. Loved having the computer room separate from the rest of the house. Owner was extremely friendly and helpful. We have been renting places through VRBO for around 10 years in Tucson and this is the best - totally plan on returning.Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

About the owner: My husband and I are Minnesotans. We never really thought about vacationing in Arizona until our two daughters moved to Tucson and Phoenix. We love Tucson! It has mountain ranges in all directions. We love to hike Catalina State Park or other closeby hiking trails. As real estate investors, we realized Tucson was a smart investment area, and we can help you invest in the Phoenix/Tucson areas. Our home is peaceful with gorgeous views- very private, yet centrally located. We look forward to your visit to our home. We love it here and we know you will too. We love the views from the sun room and the back yard while sitting in the sauna, hot tub, or just sitting at the patio table. There are also city lights and gorgeous sunsets to be seen! A very private setting. We hope you decide to stay with us, because you will want to come back on your next vacation!
Why the Owner Chose Oro Valley:
All of Tucson has mountain views but this home looks like it's tucked in to the mountain. If you are looking for a vacation near Tucson sites, this home is just a few blocks over the Oro Valley line, which makes it central to everything. We love the mountain views from the living room or the sun room or office and Master bedroom. It feels as though we are in the country up here. It is extremely tranquil- hear the coyotes at night -
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We love the views from the back yard or the front yard - the house has is extremely comfortable complete with an Arizona room, and den/office. Inside- modern- bamboo floors. Comfortable urnishings- love the master bed- better than the one in my own home! You will love staying here.
