Wow, this trip was so amazing. The house was at a perfect distance from Snow Summit base, where my husband, 14 yr son and friends were able to enjoy a wonderful time snowboarding. The house was perfect for our family, kids and friends. It was super clean and equipped with everything you would need in a home. Natalie was so kind and super attentive to all our needs and very responsive to our questions. I would definitely stay here again and so would all of my party. I would also recommend this home to our family friends. Thank you for allowing us to use your home as another wonderful winter memory in our lives!

This cabin exceeded our expectations! The location was exactly as described, not even a quarter mile to the base of Snow Summit. The pictures did not do the charm of this cabin justice. We had 9 people in our party and all fit more than comfortably. All bedrooms were spacious with very comfortable beds. Everything you could have needed was there, which made the trip such a breeze. The cabin was very clean and well stocked with all kinds of supplies from kitchen to bath items. It is adult and child friendly, and both spacious and cozy. The owners were very friendly and responsive. We will definitely be booking future winter and spring/summer trips in this cabin and highly recommend it to all!

Great Place for Family Getaway!

We spent a weekend at this beautiful cabin and really enjoyed our stay. Our group included three small children and six adults (grandparents, parents & kids). The space was perfect for hanging out as an extended family but also providing privacy in different rooms/floors. The backyard was especially fun for the kids as they played in the snow on the slides. The indoor decor -- fireplace, wood stove, etc -- also was a big hit with us as it made us feel like we were far away from home in a true mountain cabin experience. The house came equipped with everything we needed for family dinners and convenience. It's also only just a few minutes walk to Snow Summit! I'd highly recommend this terrific home for a weekend in Big Bear with the family.

Christmas in Big Bear - no better place to be!

We just spent our 3rd Christmas at this cabin. This was our 18th Christmas in Big Bear but we have found our home here. Joan and Natalie go out of their way to make you feel at home starting with the welcoming basket of goodies all the way to the stocking of supplies. The cabin is roomy and at the same time cozy. The large backyard gives the kids plenty of room to play. The proximity to Snow Summit makes it easy for those that want to ski or board. The kitchen has EVERYTHING you need to prepare meals. My daughters have already suggested we rent it for our annual girls' weekend so I will be checking out the calendar for it but we will for sure be back again for Christmas!

AMAZING!!!

My family just spent the most amazing weekend at this cabin. The pictures and description don't do it justice. The back yard is huge and we were fortunate enough to enjoy the first snow of the season. My two young children spent tons of time in the backyard sledding, playing on the slide and swing, and in the adorable little playhouse. The house was stocked with every amenity you could imagine. The kitchen had every condiment you could ever need, even ground coffee! The bathrooms were full of everything we needed (toothpaste, q-tips, soap, shampoo, etc.). The living room was so warm and cozy, our entire group of 8 adults and 2 children fit comfortably around the fire and TV. The owner of this cabin went above and beyond your typical cabin rental. They provided 5-star treatment and made sure we felt right at home. I researched cabins for hours and hours before deciding on this one, and my entire family felt like we won the jackpot with this house. I'm already looking forward to our next trip to this cabin. You'll love it!!!

This is a truly amazing property. I term it a “welcoming” home. You will feel at home at this home, just as we did. Because of the thoughtfulness of the owners, the home seems to anticipate your every need for a superb vacation. (In its many details, it is clear that the owners have a passion for sharing this remarkable home.) The home is a visual delight, reflective of the owners’ taste for visual fun, presented within the theme of mountain hide-away. You may, as we did, spend the first half of a day walking around this house that contains special eye treats at every turn. The more you look, the more you will see. Concerning the location, the home is on a very large, quiet, private lot, but still within walking distance of a major ski slope and a five minute drive to Big Bear Lake, itself. In our case, we had three generations in the home (two seniors, two sets of parents, and three grandchildren), each with their private space and wonderful, large, warmly decorated family room for family activities; in fact, multiple family activities. Along with our family, we had two labs who enjoyed the large, fenced back yard, as did the grandchildren who enjoyed the playground equipment, the new playhouse, and simply the enclosed room to run. Overlooking the back yard is a large, outdoor living room deck, perfect for parents to keep an eye on the grandchildren. In our case, we rented the home for the Thanksgiving week, starting with our (the grandparents’) arrival on Monday, getting the lay of the land for the arrival of the families on Wednesday, bidding good-by to the families on Sunday, and then surveying the home for left-behind articles, before our Monday departure. For us, this timing was perfect. The home was well up to the task for our preparations around the Thanksgiving meal and accommodated all of us plus an uncle and an aunt who joined us for the big Thanksgiving meal. As much as you read about this home, as much as you scrutinize the photos, you will not be prepared for the delight in actually entering the home for the first time. You would not think it possible to rent such a fine home. If you think my praise is over-done, just wait until you have an opportunity to reside in this home!

Best Cabin in Big Bear

I have stayed at this cabin a total of 3 times within the past year. The location is perfect for the snowboarders in my family as it is literally a 2 minute drive or less than a 10 minute walk away from Snow Summit. My family and I have gone during the winter season as well as during the spring. This cabin's location is also great for boating purposes as it is quite close to Big Bear Lake. We are always impressed by how impeccably clean this cabin is kept and we do our very best to leave it in the same condition. The photographs provided by the owners perfectly illustrate the exterior and interior of this cabin and only experiencing the cabin in person can make the visuals any better. The owners are extremely professional and friendly and always answer every one of my questions in a timely manner. I give my full recommendation to anyone searching for a very comfortable and spacious cabin that can easily accomodate pets and about 10-12 people.

Much more than the pictures show

This is such a snug and cozy cabin! Close to Snow Summit, but not all the noise. Room in the backyard to sled, have snowball fights, and build a snowman. Big enough inside for everyone to have their own space and be warm. I'd definitely rent here again!

Our whole family - kids, grandkids - spent a long weekend in this wonderful home. It was clean and so comfortable. The kids had a great time in the backyard. We were close to the ski slopes and yet far enough away not to be bothered by traffic. We were greeted with a wonderful gift basket. The owners have spent a great amount of attention to detail in furnishing this home and preparing it for visitors. Having an extra refrigerator and washer/dryer was really nice for our group. The owners were friendly and very easy to work with. We had a great weekend and plan to return!

WONDERFUL CABIN HOME!!!

We were lucky enough to be invited by friends to join them at this cabin over the past weekend. There were 5 adults and 4 kids and we had plenty of room. The cabin is well furnished and has everything you'll need to enjoy your time in Big Bear, including sleds, etc. What I really noticed was how clean everything was. Every single linen I used including the throw blankets on the couches smelled like it had just been washed for our visit. As for the kitchen, it had everything you could possibly need! We were joking that every appliance was like a five star item. Even the peeler was amazing! :) The backyard is HUGE and plenty of room for kids and dogs. The living room is seperated so there is a quiet, lounging space and then a more active, TV watching space. The bedrooms upstairs were huge and the bathroom was also. Downstairs the bedrooms are average sized but the bathroom has an old, clawfoot tub that is charming! The cabin is walking distance to Snow Summit and just a three minute drive to shopping. We are already planning our next trip!!!

Everything was great. Two things. I had 4 children so it was tough to keep warm since I couldn't use the pot belly stove and heater in kitchen. Also the air freshener that you use were overbearing. We had to remove all of them during our stay and then put them back at the end.

Owner response: We have forced heat upstairs and downstairs that can be controlled with a remote control (it's usually in the family room) or by the wall control. With that you can set the degrees to whatever is comfortable for you. The pot belly stove and heater in the kitchen are not necessary to stay warm. There are also lots of blankets and two electric heaters in the closet of two of the rooms. You have my cell phone number, I wish you would have called me if you didn't know how to work it. Also, when someone arrived at the cabin to clean it once you checked out we found that one of the windows was wide open in one of the bedrooms downstairs. That may have been the problem... Natalie

PERFECT CABIN IN BIG BEAR!!!

Look no further, this cabin has it all! If you think the pictures look great, you'll be amazed once you enter the cabin...our family had 6 adults, 3 teenagers, & 3 smaller kids, each had enough privacy and space to enjoy the big bear experience. This is my wife's birthday wish every year and this year blew her mind. Snow Summit is a few blocks away if you walk or a 2-5 minute drive right into the parking! Natalie is very responsive and is a great VRBO renter. We'll definitely return in the future! The cabin's rooms are spacious, the living rooms are comfortable with one side having the big flat screen w/ netflix, while the other one has the fire place to sit and relax. Not to mention both are sofa beds for the older kids to enjoy the night away gazing out at the forest. The kitchen is very spacious w/ nice size fridge, everything you can ask for. Would recommend maybe putting in a pool table or foosball? This experience was an A+, our family enjoyed every minute, just ashamed we had to leave!!

Awesome house!

We LOVED this house. We had 9 people - 4 kids and 5 adults, and the house had plenty of comfortable room for all of us. Even my aunt who uses a walker had no problems navigating the house. We received a gift basket upon arrival that was a wonderful surprise. The kitchen had everything we needed, including spices, condiments, etc. so we didn't have to buy EVERYTHING when we got there. There is Wi-Fi - so for those who want to stay connected, you can. There are also a ton of good movies and books around the house for entertainment. And if you are a late sleeper, you will LOVE the bedrooms - the shades block out vitually all light, so you can sleep as late as you want without the sun waking you. This is our new favorite place to rent in Big Bear.

Perfect family get-away!

We spent 4 fantastic summer days here and are already talking about a return trip! With 5 young kids (all under 6), the HUGE fenced backyard was a big, big winner. It was so great for us to hang out and chat on the deck while the kids played happily. Great neighborhood for taking walks as well! This is easily the nicest vacation rental I've ever used - beautifully decorated and really felt like a home away from home. Outstanding! It will be fun to visit in the winter - so close to skiing!

OFF THE BEATEN PATH (perfect for Skiing)

This home is in a great remote location and I so love the privacy! And, yet, it's right in town. We spent 3 relaxing nights there in MAY and the place is a real find. It has everything, and the people are terrific to work with. Thanks Natalie and Joan! I'd have to agree with the others, the WELCOME BASKET really does just that, it made us feel really special and it was the coolest surprise! We hiked and fished and cooked and just hung out chatting. The 4 of us agreed, it was the ideal place to SKI (so we will be back!) but, in MAY, we just loved the quiet beauty of the woods from the back patio. It was a neat escape and I recommend this cabin to anyone. Truly ideal for 4-6, with the 2 bathrooms. Many thanks for your flexibility and your kindness!

Great for young kids

This was a great home and property for our young kids. The backyard was big enough for them to roam and play games and it's 100% fenced in. Plenty of squirrels and birds to spy on. The inside of the home has so many bear and moose decorations that our 1 year old actually learned the word Bear over a few days. Moose was too hard. 4 good sized bedrooms make this ideal for dual families with kids. Very comfortable sitting places and very clean. Would definitely stay here again. Only 1 minute drive to Snow Summit was a plus.

My family just returned from a delightful weekend in Big Bear. The cabin was cozy, clean, and far exceeded our expectations. The decor was tasteful and you will find bears pleasantly placed around the cabin. There was even an informational binder that the owners had thoughtfully left for the guests that included information on local restaurants, attractions, video store, pharmacy, etc. The yard was a great size and even has a swing. The owner was easy to work with and extremely thoughtful!!! We will definitely try to stay here again in the future and would love to recommend it to friends and family looking for a cabin in Big Bear.

Outstanding! Our expectations were exceeded from the moment we pulled into the driveway. Our group was 7 guys whose wives encouraged, or insisted, we get out of the house for a few days. The place was comfortable for all of us, close to the ski resort, and places to grab a bite, rent skis, and get Advil. We did keep losing count of the # of bears, and as some serious wagers are still hanging on the final count, we will definitely be back next year! Seriously, this is a terrific place for families, or just a "guys ski trip." Roomy, warm and comfortable, and plenty of space for those that wanted to watch ESPN, play poker, read, or catch up on emails. Most of us are planning to bring our families over the next few months. Natalie was extremely helpful as we planned the trip. Snow Summit is a few minutes walk and close enough to provide a beautiful light show from the upstairs bedroom when the mountain is lit up. Friendly staff at the equipment rental on the west side of Summit Blvd/Big Bear Blvd, just a few blocks from the house, and terrific food and generous margaritas at Hacienda's just around the corner. 5 Stars!!!! Pssst, but don't tell anyone, we want this to be our secret...OK?

Fantastic Family Getaway

There were 10 of us in our group and there was plenty of room for us all. The kids spent 2 days snowboarding while the rest of us enjoyed walks, sledding, and meandering through the stores of the village. The cabin was very clean and had everything you need to make your stay enjoyable. I've rented several homes from VRBO in several locations, and this cabin definitely is one of the places we would love to go again. The owners were very helpful and friendly. I recommend this cabin to anyone who wants to get away, but still have the comforts of home.

Our family just returned from our stay at this house/cabin. It was perfect. The location, the house, the yard. Everything was great. Snow summit is within walking distance for those that ski or snow board. The house is clean, cozy and is very well appointed. The yard is large enough and fenced off for kids to safely enjoy the outdoors. We enjoyed our stay and will more than likely return if there is availability the next time we visit Big Bear.

A perfect accommodation in Big Bear

We were pleasantly surprised when arriving at this cabin. It was clean and well appointed with anything you might need while on vacation including bedding, clean towels, kitchen utensils, etc. The bear theme was clever and the Great Room with a stocked fireplace and pot belly stove was cozy in this snowy winter weather. There is plenty of parking and they plowed the driveway while we were there. There is even room to park in the garage. The Two of the bedrooms had King Beds, quality bedding and big screen TV's. It is within walking distance of Snow Summit which was perfect for our snow boarding family.

Christmas in Big Bear

This is a great place to stay. We were greeted with a wonderful Christmas basket of assorted goodies. The home was well stocked, the sleeping arrangements (beds) are great. Even in the snow we used the fire pit outside, the kids had a ball roasting marshmallows in the snow. It worked so well for us this year that we already booked it for next Christmas!

Our family just got back from the trip. This house is so great. We brought two other families with our family and I took all the credit for finding this nice place. Perfect location, Cozy, clean bedrooms and baths with adorable mountainy decorations. It had everything we need to stay in. I did not use any thing I packed except our clothes for 3 days! The owner is very nice and responsive. There are so many things I wish I could elaborate to compliment this house. This was great choice for our family's winter retreat. except the weather -we did not have snow until last day-. We definitely will go back!

There were 8 of us that stayed at this beautiful cabin in Big Bear. Perfect location and plenty of room for all of us. The property was stunning. Pictures do not describe the beauty. Kids could run and run in the backyard. The owner and all the staff were wonderful with answering all our questions. Amazing experience from beginning to end- highly recommend

Owner communication was wonderful- offered us a price we couldn't refuse! This home has everything you will need, stocked kitchen & laundry room. Beds- oh my- so comfortable- I am usually missing my bed after day 2 - but between the comfie beds and cool nights- slept like a baby. Towels & sheets 1st quality too. Location was perfect between lake and summit but oh so quiet- surrounded by trees and empty lots- nature galore- even had a bear sighting. Sitting on the back deck wrapped in a blanket drinking coffee was a great start to everyday. Location also good for day trips to Joshua Tree (1.5 hrs), San Diego(2.5hrs), LA Owner has thought of everything, extras galore- gift basket was very nice. We had 8 adults and plenty of room- oh did I mention endless hot water?????? We had a blast finding all the bears in the house- decor is tasteful cabin- very nice I agree with others that pics dont do the house justice Home is very nice, communication wonderful. Thank you Joan, if we are ever on the west coast again we will definitley stay here!

We were absolutely amazed! Beautiful, cozy, and very clean cabin. It was way beyond our expectations. The house in reality is nicer than the pictures.The owners were so thoughtful, little details like a hand lotion on a night stand in each bedroom were very touching. It feels more like a home than a rental place. Thank you very much for letting us to stay at your cabin! We would love to come back.

We absolutely loved this cabin! Mountain decor with modern amenities and everything we needed was provided. It was truly more than we expected as the whole family was excited and impressed upon our arrival. Location is perfect and we are already discussing our next trip up as we hope to stay longer next time. What a marvelous place to stay when visiting Big Bear!

Just wanted to say thank YOU for renting your lovely and cozy cabin to us. it truly has a mountain charm and the welcome basket was a great way to start the long weekend. you really meant it when you said everything was provided. we all hope to make this a regular yearly trek and to stay at your place. we have dubbed it the "bear cabin" and had lots of fun trying to count all the bears. they kind of sneak up on you!

Great for families. Loved the cabin feel, but had all the modern ammentities. Close to Snow Summit, we loved the walk. I will recommend to friends and family

This was my first time using VRBO and I couldn't be happier with my experience. My family and I loved the cabin and immediately felt at home when we arrived. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone vacationing in Big Bear.

The cabin is beautiful, cozy and has all the ammenities for a great vacation. I highly recommend this cabin. My whole group wants to come back to Big Bear in the spring because they had such a great time this winter vacation! The cabin is close to Snow Summit and the lake also.

We had a GREAT time! Woderful owner and wonderful place! Very modern but with a cabin experience! This is a great place to stay, not even a mile from Snow Summit...we would do it again...and we would highly recommend it to friends and family...
