If you choose this condo as your home away from home, you will be centrally located on the island with a sand beach in front of the condo to play on. After a fun filled day in Galveston, ride the glass elevator to your condo and enjoy views of the ocean in your condo from one of the two futons in the living room or from the balcony where you will feel the ocean breeze. Relax in one of the two lush tropical pools on the property - one of which is heated. Either cook in your fully equipped kitchen, barbeque in the outdoor area on the property or walk to your favorite restaurant.
This condo is fully furnished and can sleep up to six people comfortably as the futons convert into full size sleepers. You will have all of the comforts of home and enjoy all Galveston has to offer while at this condo.

Great Location - Older Property

Let me start by saying that Casa del Mar is in a great location right on the seawall across from the beach so it was very easy for our family to go back and forth. It is also right next to a grocery store and many restaurants so meals were a great convenience (although our favorite meal was from Shrimp and Stuff which requires a short drive). Wilma and Betty were wonderful to work with and made the pre-trip logistics simple and stress-free. On the downside, while the condo was cleaned prior to our arrival, overall it is much older and worn looking than it appears in the photos. For example, there were noticeable stains on the futon covers and bedspreads and the rugs were quite filthy. The other drawback is that the unit faces 61st Street so if you plan on sleeping on the futons in the living area, you can expect a lot of traffic noise (the bedroom is pretty well shielded from this noise). There was also quite a bit of noise from the units below and above us - we have two young children so perhaps we went to bed much earlier than everyone else. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and the pricing was definitely great but it just wasn't quite what I expected.

We stayed for 8 days in October and Casa del Mar was wonderful! The people we met were very friendly, the condo and pool area very clean!!! The two futons in the condo were great for relaxing before bed! Just walk across the street to the beach and just a few blocks to great food and fun!!!

Clean, clean, clean!! The condo is in a wonderful location to walk across to the beach. A new blender, per request, awaited us when we arrived! The pool was nice and every morning was cleaned by the Casa Del Mar staff! The owners were only a phone call away...literally, they were quick to get someone to fix the "too cold" thermostat so it didn't interfere with our vacation. You can tell by the property they have put a lot into it and continue to fix it up!!! "The Spot" was our first evening meal and would definitely recommend to all. It is a fun environment! We ran into an islander that recommended "Shrimp and Stuff" which is off the beaten path and it is a hidden treasure. The fish tacos are to die for and the shrimp gumbo was tasty!!! La Kings was a must for homemade ice cream and candy...for all the kiddos "big and small". We had a blast in Casa Del Mar 241 and if we come back to Galveston we would stay again!!! Thanks for the memories!!!

This condo was absolutely wonderful for our family of six. The condo is exactlay as advertised and our every need was taken care of. The unit is very clean which is important to us. The owners are very helpful and friendly. We will definately stay at this condo again.

The suite is small, but comfortable. The location is wonderful. The parking is convenient. We will definitely stay here again. Be sure to bring your own toilet paper!
