I enjoyed my stay at Sunflower Cottage this past winter, it was a wonderful way to spend my first winter in "retirement mode". The cottage is so central to everything, the water, shops, restaurants, and the Cedar Key dock. Tina was ever so approachable and a great landlady. The cottage had everything to make it feel like a "home away from home". I look forward to staying there again!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

The Sunflower Cottage was fantastic. From the moment we arrived, we knew we had found a gem. Tina was great with directions, suggestions and a welcome smile. The cottage is set up beautifully and we loved the outdoor space. The golf cart was an added bonus. We parked our car on Friday and didn't drive it again until we left for home. We met extended family in Cedar Key and had a great picnic on the back porch. We had lots of space. Next year we are planning an extended stay at the Sunflower Cottage and can't wait to go back. You won't be disappointed.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.
Owner response: I'm so glad you had a good time in Cedar Key and enjoyed your say at the Sunflower Cottage. I hope you get back again soon.

This was the perfect cottage for a week of extreme relaxation! Very clean and fully equipped with everything one could want or need, it is only a short walk into town to the wonderful shops, restaurants and art galleries as well as the dock and beach. Dinners out included Tony's (award winning clam chowder), and the bar at the Island Hotel. We walked to Sandy's for the best fresh produce, fruits and cheeses around. We also walked 2 blocks each night to watch the most amazing sunsets and to meet new friends. The location couldn't be more perfect and the owner (who we finally met on day 6!) was easy to work with. This was one of the very best vacation accomodations ever!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Our stay has been great at this sweet & clean unit with a great location in a quiet area.It has EVERYTHING YOU NEED! not one detail is missing! The owner has set this unit up as a home away from home. The photos dont do justice to this cute unit,The owner was great and made our stay on quiet Cedar Key GREAT!LOCATION,LOCATION,LOCATION,a block from downtown in a real quiet area.a short ride to all the areas we visited to list a few the local springs the jewels of Florida,a trip to see manatees near Crystal River. So many things to do or not do. The unit comes with a golf cart to tour the Island is a great value as rentals are fun but not cheap to rent! the unit has a washer and dryer is great to do clothes and makes it easy to not bring so many things,Cooking in a well stocked kitchen is so nice,if you dont like to cook just down the steet are many places to eat at.The area is such a nice place to vacation and relax and we realy love sun flower cottageRecommended for: Sightseeing

We want to be able to rent next year and want to keep it a secret. Seriously, this has been the most amazing vacation. The cottage is perfect, clean, fully equipped with an awesome location. We were like locals on the golf cart, traveling around everywhere on it. The local community are friendly, warm, and inviting making you feel welcome. Cedar Key and Sun Flower Cottage are "Dog Friendly" making our vacation even more memorable. We took the Tide Water Tour with Fred as our Guide and had a great time, highly recommend the tour. Next time we come we want to Kayak with Dan at Cedar Key Paddling. Each night the sunsets are incredible, so are the sunrises, although the mornings come a bit early. Tina, it was great meeting you and we appreciate your hospitality. Sadly we leave tomorrow after we take the tour to the lighthouse.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband, dog and I loved this little cottage. Very laid back and relaxing stay. The Golf cart was fun and wonderful for sight seeing and getting around without the car. Be prepared, however, there are only two small stores there and I would recommend a visit to grocery before coming. Everything is furnished except food. Nearest grocery is 30-45 minute away. We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend Sunflower Cottage for a relaxing vacation. Lots of fishing and wonderful sun rises and sunsets. Owner was easy to work with and lived near, if any problems come up. Thank you.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners.

Cedar Key provided us with a week of relaxation. We enjoyed waking up and easing ourselves into the day beginning with a golf cart ride to the park. Over breakfast we would decide from the local eateries where we would have lunch each day. Loved them all especially Kona Joe's meatloaf sandwich, Seabreeze fried clams and Tony's shrimp sandwich. We leisurely strolled through the little shops and enjoyed chit-chatting with the shop owners. Loved the Artist Co-Op especially. The one day we did a Tide Water boat tour and another day took in the Cedar Key Historical Museum. We would finish off the evening with another cart ride and an ice cream from the store. Both my husband and I along with our two Chi's found the cottage just like being in our own home. I found the kitchen very well equipped where Dennis claimed the recliner as his. Very cozy and comfy even when our adult daughter joined us for a few days. The golf cart made getting around Cedar Key easy and fun. As we were leaving Cedar Key, we were already talking plans for a return vacation. Tina, Thank You!!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We so enjoyed our trip to West Florida's most unspoiled town. This location and rental are perfect for a family with kids, dogs, etc. The island is quaint, natural, and filled with friendly folks that are helpful and extremely informative about their wealth of history. The public marina is a great place to fish for catfish, toadfish, mullet, etc. The shops on B street are filled with artisan craft to capture local flair. The Island Bar and Annie's are perfect places to sample the local food. Don't miss a trip with Tidewater Boat Tours to learn about the foundation of this place, bird watching, and local culture. There are a few trails, but we ran out of time on this trip. This is a small town but still held our interest for 2 days. Accommodations are clean, neat, quiet, and stocked with everything you need to cook and entertain. GOLF CART sold us; and is the perfect way to get around the island. A must see for local florida folks!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Thank you Tina for being so accomodating to our needs espec when the AC decided not to work on our first night!! We had a great memorial day weekend stay and will definitely be back to stay again,, the golf cart was the best part, not having to drive around the Island made it more enjoyable and relaxing...Thanks again for sharing your cozy cottage w. the rest of the world!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for being so understanding with the A/C problem. Fortunately, it was able to be fixed fairly quickly and you were able to enjoy your visit. Please come back again. Tina

What a completely relaxing place to stay. This beautifully decorated cottage has everything needed to enjoy the peacefull town of Cedar Key. The cottage was very clean, and the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. We enjoyed sitting on the porch to seeing the sights on the golf cart. We visited the shops, galleries, and different resturants in town, met many nice people, and even took an airboat ride/tour. We would recomend the Sunflower Cottage to anyone visiting the area, and looking to RELAX! We will be back someday soon. Thank You Tina............P.S. what beautiful sunsets!!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We couldn't have asked for a better place to enjoy Cedar Key. The cottage was comfortable, complete with everything we could possible need or want, clean, close to town and the sunsets, quiet -- ideal for a getaway. We couldn't recommend it more, although we're hesitant to do so for fear that it will be "discovered" and won't be available the next time we hope to reserve it. Had it been available, we would have extended our stay.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Wanted to get away for the Thanksgiving holiday and agreed on Cedar Key. I am a saltwater inshore fishing guide in SW Florida, so I wanted to come for the trout and reds, my wife for the shops and stores. What we both loved was the cottage. It was very comfortable and welcoming. I have 52' of truck and trailer that I was able to get backed in with no issues. And the golfcart is great to run around in, saving the hassle of hooking and unhooking the boat trailer. Our two dogs loved the screened door and the neverending supply of local cats to bark at. A great place that I am sure we will return to.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: It was a pleasure to have you stay at my cottage. I've heard the reds are in so hope you caught some. Look forward to having you back. Tina

Tina, Thanks so much for having us as guests here. We really loved the cottage and it's cozy comforts. Everything you provided was so helpful and really made our stay easier. I was so happy to see a nice selection of books at the cottage- I couldn't believe I left my reading material at home. We were completely spoiled by the golf cart. I never realized they were so much fun, and our dog had a blast riding in it. He must have thought he died and went to heaven being able to have his whole body out in the open while riding instead of just his head. We are planning another visit to Cedar Key eventually, and will definately be back. Thanks again!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I have visited Cedar Key five times in the past five months and I must say the Sunflower Cottage is the nicest place we've stayed. The cabin is comfortable and well-appointed. Everything you need is available. Just bring your own food! We came for four nights with our little dog and all three had a blast. The location is convenient for exploring all of Cedar Key using the house's golf cart. We were zipping around like locals in no time. I want to thank Tina for her hospitality. It was a pleasure staying here. I have absolutely nothing negative to say. We're looking forward to our next visit already!Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The E Street Cottage was perfect for our July R&R week ... even with our 2 Afghan Hound dogs being welcome! The house is spacious and well stocked (even laundry detergent!) and very comfortable. The neighborhood is quiet and easy to walk around (which we did alot with the dogs). The house is very clean and charming, many personal touches. We appreciated the golf cart being part of the package -- we drove it to the grocery store, the charming shops downtown and the restaurants on Dock St. ... even out to the Cedar Key cemetary (don't miss it). We loved Kona Joe's, the Canvas Bag shop (a local industry), the Cedar Key library, the arts shops, even the curmudgeon's bookstore! This place is a real GEM and the E Street Cottage was the perfect house (felt like home, not a rental cottage).Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, tourists without a car, pet owners.

The cottage is an excellent retreat for some R & R. Tina, the owner is very helpful and accomodating. The cottage is in a very quiet and central location. The golf cart was especially welcome for the pups to have their first ride on (they had a blast). My husband was very pleased with the cottage and even said it was the best so far on the island and we have stayed at many other places. The cottage is a definate must for anyone looking for a place to stay while visiting Cedar Key. Thanks again Tina :)Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: Thanks for writing about your visit and I'm glad you had such a good time. Thank goodness the golf cartis a 4 seater so your pups were able to enjoy their visit and tour around Cedar Key in style.

We wanted to surprise our father with an early father's day get away. We spent 3 days in this fabulous cottage. The cottage is very clean and comfy. We spent our days and nights sight seeing and fishing. We brought along our dog who loves the water. She swam and swam. She (as well as the rest of us) enjoyed riding around and looking at all the different homes with their bright colors and marine decor. This cottage is only a few blocks from G street which is a great place to hang out in the water or fish. We really enjoyed our stay and Dad was indeed very surprised and loved it! By far the best value on the island without sacrificing anything. The cottage is very clean, well maintained, well appointed, artsy. Location is perfect--with the golf cart you're 1 minute away from the water/beach and grocery store, 3 minutes away from the dock, shops and restaurants. We loved the fact that there was plenty of room for our boat & trailer plus the outdoor storage. The owner (Tina) was very attentive to our needs. She went out of her way on Monday to get us the annual pass so we didn't have to pay to launch the boat; and later in the week when the washing machine broke down, she had a new one installed pronto. After spending a week here and seeing all the properties available, I would most definitely choose this place to come back to.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, pet owners, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
Owner response: It's always a pleasure to rent to people like the last reviewer. They were so accommodating in getting the new washer in. Thanks for coming and hope to see you back soon.
