Want to get away and unwind? Our home is very private with over an acre of trees and 125 ft of low-medium bank waterfront with a trail down to the lower level and bulkhead. The lot faces southwest so the house gets the afternoon sun and incredible sunsets (weather permitting). Enjoy the upper deck or lower deck/patio and in the evenings make a fire inside or out (wood provided). The house has been updated throughout in 2009. There are two bedrooms and common bathroom upstairs. The master bedroom has a new king bed and opens to the upper deck and has an unobstructed view of the water and Wollochet Bay. The other bedroom has a new twin/full bunk bed built locally on Fox Island (wolfdenworkshop) and looks east toward the trees. The living and dining rooms both overlook the water with an almost 180 degree view from Fox Island to the Olympic Mountains. The living room has a 52 inch LCD TV with HD cable/DVD for your viewing pleasure. WiFi is available. The daylight basement has a very comfortable queen sleeper sofa and its own bathroom and storage/closet and opens to the lower deck with fire bowl and lounge chairs. Approximately 1800 square feet total.
Kayakers will appreciate the easy access down to the bulkhead and beach. Enjoy a trip around the calm waters of Wollochet Bay, or for more experienced kayakers, head out to the Fox Island bridge and beyond.
Chambers Bay Golf Course (2010 US Amateur and 2015 US Open golf tournaments) is a 15 minute drive across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge then south int University Place. Gig Harbor's "Uptown" outdoor shopping mall is a 7 minute drive away and the Historic Gig Harbor Marina and waterfront is only about a 10 minute drive. Other attractions include Kopachuk State Park, Point Defiance Park and Zoo and the Point Defiance ferry to Vashon Island.
We don't recommend staying here if you have toddlers or crawlers as the railing on the upper balcony is not kid-proof. For those with an infant, we DO have a crib and high-chair.

Why the Owner Chose Gig Harbor
We live in Tacoma and wanted a vacation home nearby that would allow us to easily escape for weekends. With all the wonderful options in the northwest, the decision was not easy. Fortunately, we happened upon this amazing piece of property and charming house in need of serious updating. We both had a vision of what it could be and have spent the past year transforming this little gem. Now, we want to share it with others who have an appreciation for simple, clean, quiet waterfront living.
The Unique Benefits at this House
We especially enjoy the peace and quiet and amazing views of the water, sunsets and mountains (weather permitting). This house lends itself to relaxation. On cold or rainy days, we enjoy a nice warm fire in the wood-burning fireplace, reading a book, watching TV or a movie, playing games and taking a nap. Weather permitting, we enjoy the upper deck with gas BBQ and bistro table or the lower deck/patio area with lounge chairs and fire bowl. Regardless of weather, we enjoy exploring our own rocky beach and the kids love looking for crabs and clams. When we are ready to get away from the house, we enjoy the local outdoor shopping area, the historic Gig Harbor marina and waterfront and numerous restaurants.

I grew up in rural Ontario Canada and my husband in busy Southern California. We met in Seattle in 1999 and married in 2000 on San Juan Island at Roche Harbor. A career move took us to Michigan for three years but we returned to the northwest to plant our roots and raise a family.
