This is an adorable Florida cottage with pool overlooking Matlacha Aquatic Preserve. The fishing right off the dock is great fun. The dolphins swim by several times a day and in the warmer months the manatees love to eat the underwater grass next to the dock. This is truly a birdwatchers paradise. There are several nesting ospreys (one nest on every block) in the neighborhood. Pelicans, gulls, ibis, blue and white herons, roseate spoonbills, wood storks, etc. are feeding in the shallow waters at all times! Kayaking in this wildlife preserve is one of the best areas in southwest Florida! Matlacha is a quiet old Florida fishing village that still is home to several shrimp boats and commercial fishermen. Small historic buildings dotted along Pine Island Road are now home to colorful art galleries and unique gift shops. Restaurants to attract everyone are plentiful. Matlacha is one of a kind!
