The Dennis Conner Suite is located on the second floor of a carriage house just off Thames St. Only steps from the Harbor there are clear views of the Marina, Moored boats in the harbor, Ida Lewis Yacht club and Ft. Adams in the distance. There is a large living room/dining room/kitchen area on the wharf side. To the rear are two bedrooms connected by a full bathroom. The living room has a cozy gas fireplace to give warmth and atmosphere on a chilly day. Southern exposure ensures good sunlight during the day.
There is parking for one large car, SUV, or 2 small cars in the Belgin block driveway. Dennis Conner lived here in 1979, and he sublet the place to John Bertrand who dislodged the America's Cup from the New York Yacht Club in 1983.
Ideally located in the heart of NEWPORT, this is where you want to be. In fact, the location is so good, we live on the campus too.

Year Purchased: 1995
My interest in Yachting has brought me to Newport. Rather than retire to West Windy Lake, where the mosquitoes are as large as birds, and watching the grass grow is second to skipping stones, we chose a vibrant and active community. There is always something going on here.
Why the Owner Chose Newport
The short answer is action! There is a big parade on St. Patrick's Day, the Yachting Center has boat shows, chowder cook off's, Ocktober Fests, and a Taste of Newport Festival to name a few. There are simply too many activities to list. Guaranteed you will find something of interest. From skydiving to skindiving, fine dining to seasonal fruit picking, live theater to movie festivals, it's all here.
The Unique Benefits of this Carriage House
From Lee's Wharf it is easy walking distance to most attractions and events. We have 3 ocean beaches. The Naval War College and museum, the tennis hall of fame, Salve University, golf, antique stores, galleries, it just doesn't stop. Quite honestly, there is something for everyone, and you will only scratch the surface in a week.
