We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Sea Star. Plenty of towels, plenty of dishes, plenty of space. Short walk to the beach where our boys skim boarded and boogie boarded. We'll be back.

Great Girls Getaway

Our group had a fantastic time celebrating an important birthday on the Oregon coast. The Sea Star was amazing and had the perfect accomodations for our group. The deck has a nice view of the ocean and a fun place to sip a few cocktails and munch on some smoked salmon. There's a great wine shop in Cannon Beach and some of the best seafood at the local fish market. One of the nicest features of the Sea Star is the living area is upstairs with a beautiful windows with views of the ocean. The bedrooms are downstairs and away from the activity if someone wants to retire early or take an afternoon nap. Although we didn't bring the kids on this trip, there is a fun bunk room that I think they will enjoy when we came down again with the whole family. I highly recommend this beach house to those thinking of coming to the Oregon coast.

Great Beach House for family

We had a wonderful time at the Sea Star last summer. The house is perfect for two families with children. The bunkroom provides a great space for the kids to play and have fun while the parents can relax in the great room area off of the kitchen. The upstairs has terrific views of the Pacific Ocean and the deck is really nice for a dinner barbaque and has a great view of Castle Rock right out front. There is a master bedroom with bath upstairs, plus three more bedrooms on the entry level. We especially enjoyed the Great Lakes motif in the one bedroom downstairs. The garden area was in full bloom when we arrived and provided a nice place for an afternoon sip of wine. The house was very well furnished and in excellent condition when we arrived. It is easy to keep clean and has a very functional and efficient kitchen. The area around Arch Cape is full of places to explore. The beaches at low tide are fascinating and several state parks are in the area to check out and play in. The town of Cannon Beach is only 4 miles north and has great wine shops and restaurants. All in all I highly recommend this house and the area for a great family vacation.

Romantic Getaway on the Oregon Coast

The "Sea Star" beach house far exceeded our expectations for a romantic week on the Oregon coast. The house was in perfect condition when we entered and the layout is ideal for either a large group with kids or a couple of couples like we had. There are three bedrooms downstairs, secluded from the activities of the living space on the second floor and a master bedroom upstairs with a full bath. The kitchen works well and is functional along with the dining area right off of it. The entire unstairs has a wonderful view of the ocean and the saltbox style of beach house is very charming. On one of the warm evenings we had dinner on the deck with nice views of Castle Rock right out front. The area around Arch Cape is amazing with several nice beaches to take a walk on. Access to the beach from the Sea Star is easy and is a very short walk with no traffic to worry about. For visitors to the area we would suggest Oswald State Park just a couple miles south on 101 and the Wine Shack in Cannon Beach for the best selection of Pinot Noirs on the entire coast.

Wonderful Family Gathering Spot

Three families gathered at this property to celebrate Thanksgiving. We had six adults and five children. This house was perfect for us! We had plenty of room to spread out. We appreciated the bedroom to bathroom ratio. The bunk room with the star was ideal for the three older kids. They loved their slumber party. The beach access was convenient and it was a wonderful spot for the kids to play. We had one plumbing issue during our stay. The owners attempted to solve the problem, but due to the holiday weekend it was difficult to get a plumber out. Without us even requesting, the owners were quick to offer reimbursement for our inconvenience. We would stay there again in a heartbeat. Thanks for helping us create wonderful family memories!

Excellent House, Questionable Cleaners...

We had an excellent time at the house. It has a well stocked kitchen, nice layout for a group, excellent views of the ocean and lots of beds. The basement is normal for an Oregon Coast house, which has a little bit of a musty smell, but not too bad. The beds are all comfortable and bathrooms are all well kept. Overall we had a wonderful weekend here (would have gotten a 4 star), had a disappointing return. We left the house having washed all the dishes, towels and even started a load of sheets. Four days later I get a call from the owner that the cleaners had given him an alarming review- reporting we had trashed the place, including having broken many things. The cleaners stuck the owner with a bill stating it took them 2 people and 2 days to clean the house. This seemed excessive to me, but I helped the owner out and paid all the additional cost- I would highly suggest that you take photos on arriving and leaving just to make sure this doesn't happen again. Overall this left a sour experience and we won't be returning to this house.
