We feel so fortunate to have had this lovely home in which to enjoy our summer holidays. It is meticulously maintained and the pictures display exactly what awaits you. Though it appears small it is definitely not and easily sleeps 8 with room to spare. The home is laid out efficiently and it was wonderful enjoying family dinners, games, and even a movie or two on the main floor which flows perfectly from kitchen through dining to living room. The master bedroom and private bath is quiet and tucked away on the lower floor for privacy - Nice when five kids (19, 17, 14, 9, & 5 are around ;) - and the “condo” room over the sauna was perfect form my very private 17 year old daughter. The "crow's nest" landing at the top of the third floor was a hit with my five year old who played pirate ship every day. The beach is only a short walk and is the perfect place to wear out the little ones. This home in Arch Cape is perfect since you can be in Cannon Beach in five minutes and when it gets too crowded come "home" to serenity. The property management team is accommodating and timely with payments and reimbursements. After five trips to the Cannon Beach area we’ve definitely found a home.

The Seadream was everything that we expected and more! It truly has character and we loved all the windows and skylights. Even in December it was nice and bright inside and there were beautiful views from the living room and upstairs bedroom. Everything was extremely clean and well cared for and there were lots of the latest appliances in the kitchen. I would not recommend it for an elderly person or very young children because of all the stairs which were kind of narrow and not very deep, almost like a spiral staircase. We loved it though, because it just added to the charm of the place in our opinion. We loved how close to the beach it was- just a short walk. We also drove to nearby Oswald State Park and hiked to the beach there, which was a nice protected cove with a couple beautiful waterfalls spilling down onto the beach. A nice hike out to Falcon Point too was worth the effort.

This is a wonderful home that is perfect for enjoying the November storms. It met our expectations, was impeccably clean and everything worked properly. Thank you for leaving the lights on and the gift basket when we arrived. We would stay here again and would recommend this home for your next visit to the Cannon Beach/Arch Cape area.

If you are traveling in the northern coastal area of Oregon and want to spend some time by the ocean the "Seadream" is for you! Very well kept and updated property that while it is not right on the ocean gives you plenty of great ocean views especially the ocean sunset views from the roof deck on the very top of the house. The only thing I would change is that our schedule only had allowed for 3 nights booked as a week there would have been optimal. My family of 4 along with my brothers family of 4 (four boys total ages 11,12,13 and 14) had plenty of room and plenty of fun filled memories at the Seadream. If you like unique architecture like me you'll appreciate the unique design of this place with all the decks, round windows, and the two story "condo" guest house with upper level bedroom and lower level bathroom/6 person sauna were also very clean and useful as was the outdoor hot tub. These were amenities that were hard for this price in the entire northern Oregon coastal area as I searched VRBO pretty extensively prior to booking here. The neighborhood was very clean and quiet and the beach is about a block and 1/2 away to the left accessed through a hedge arch between two homes. I can't recommend this property enough so end your search here and book today, you won't regret it...

"Ecola State Park offers some of the most breathtaking and exquisite views to be found on the Oregon Coast. The park has several picnic areas with barbecues. From the parking lot, trails lead to several viewing points within the park. Take the trail up around the point for an excellent view of "Terrible Tilly," the Tillamook Rock Lighthouse. Bring your binoculars! Twice a year whales can be seen during their migration. If you're looking for a place to relax, inhale outrageous coast beauty and feel the stress blow away on the coastal wind, Ecola State Park will never disappoint you. There is something to take your breath away every day of the year - even on a dark and stormy afternoon . . . The carnival scene from the movie “Kindergarten Cop” and the surfing scene in “Twilight” were filmed here. "Oswald West State Park is popular with surfers, hikers and beach goers and has much to offer in the way of recreation. Stretching along four miles of coastline in dense, temperate rainforest, Oswald West State Park has a beautifully secluded sandy beach and miles of trails leading to breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean. This vast, scenic treasure is without a doubt one of the most spectacular parks in Oregon. A popular beach that’s alive with activity on any weekend or summer day, Short Sand Beach lies sheltered in a cove blanketed by forests and edged with volcanic basalt and sandstone cliffs characteristic of the Oregon coastline. Nicknamed “Shorty’s” by locals, the beach is just a half mile walk through the woods. From the main parking lot, walk under Highway 101, and down the trail, following the contours of Short Sand Creek through the forest. Cross the creek on a railroad-style bridge and you’ll find yourself at a beautiful picnic area overlooking the beach. Oswald West State Park offers miles of hiking trails in this 2,484 acre park. A 13-mile stretch of the Oregon Coast Trail weaves its way through the entire park, starting at the community of Arch Cape and extending south towards the town of Manzanita. From one our recent guests: “We also drove to nearby Oswald State Park and hiked to the beach there, which was a nice protected cove with a couple beautiful waterfalls spilling down onto the beach. A nice hike out to Falcon Point too was worth the effort.” "

                      Owner info

                      Year Purchased: 1995

About the owner: Mary and Jim, the owners, are residents of Tucson, Arizona. We have 3 grown children and 6 granddaughters that all love the Cannon Beach/Arch Cape area.

Why the Owner Chose Arch Cape:
We had vacationed in Cannon Beach many years before buying Seadream. Arch Cape was our choice of location for multiple reasons: 1) The wide sandy beach is gorgeous with the mountains coming right up to the beach and beautiful clear water creeks emptying into the ocean, 2) the beach is not crowded and we are wedged in between 2 state parks, 3) the proximity (4 miles)to Cannon Beach(with no franchises) for its great restaurants, unique shops and art galleries and 4) easy access to and from the Portland International Airport (2 hours).

The Unique Benefits at this House:
Our beach access is a short 1 block walk. We have spectacular views especially from the 4th level roof top deck. Kite flying is a favored activity and we have kites for guests to use. Beach combing is another rite of Seadream. The current record for perfect sand dollars is 49 in one morning. Hot tubing in the therapeutic Thermo Spa is another favored activity. The spacious cedar sauna is always a treat. A beach fire with smores of course is great fun, there is always plenty of driftwood and usually abandoned fire pits near the beach entrance. Nothing beats having your morning coffee from the local coffee roaster (the Sleepy Monk)on the deck.
