Flying Cloud Retreat is an ideal getaway in the Russian River Valley and the Sonoma Wine Country. Guest accommodations on the 3-acre property include a charming 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom cottage with a wraparound deck, two shabby chic tent cabins with private views of the valley (one has a king bed; the other has a daybed and two twin beds; both with wood stoves), hot tub, 5000 square foot lawn and beautiful in-ground pool. The pool house is a completely refurbished 1959 Flying Cloud Airstream (with functional bathroom and refrigerator) which also serves as additional sleeping for 2 adults and 2 children.
This charming, secluded retreat is nestled in the rolling hills and vineyards of the Russian River Valley, yet is only 10 minutes to downtown Healdsburg.
Wine tasting, golf, bicycling and hot air ballooning are just a few of the many local activities to be enjoyed.

FIRST: CHECK THE WEATHER REPORT before booking stay. If the weather is going to be warm and you want to spend the ENTIRE time outdoors, then this is a great spot for a family or a smaller group. The large lawn was great for outdoor activities, BBQ was perfect for cooking meals, pool and hot tub were nice amenities as well. If weather is going to be below 65, and you need to stay indoors then this is not a good spot to stay. Although advertised as sleeping 14, it should be noted that the 2 "tents" are a trek down a muddy/dirt pathway and can't even be seen from the back lawn. The airstream had a funky smell to it and I wouldn't sleep in there. The main cottage has a small living space with seating for 4 comfortably along with a miniature TV with limited channels. The 2 bedrooms are equally small in size and very cold due to poor heating in the cottage overall. I slept with towels over the sheet all night. We had a larger group and figured since it says it sleeps 14, we'd be good. But after assessing the actually situation almost all drove back home at the end of the night. That being said, only stay here when the sun is out and shining, otherwise you are going to be cold, cramped, and overall uncomfortable.

Hi Lisa! Wow! What a success! The wedding went so well! It was beautiful and we got so many comments on how awesome the place was. It was the best wedding I've ever attended :) and everyone who stayed there was so pleased and happy and felt like they were at home.Thank you so much for having us. It was definitely the best choice we could have made. Also, thank you for the thoughtful gifts and card you left for us :) That was really sweet of you and your husband. Anyway, thanks again for everything. Matteo and I could not have asked for anything more! We had a wonderful time at your house. Location was great, the pool and general setting was lovely. Everyone seemed to enjoy their mattresses - a rare occurance with a rental house! I definitely got attached to the house.
