Why stay in a suburban house in the mountains when you can stay in an eco-friendly A-Frame cabin with a true mountain experience without the big carbon footprint. This cabin is nestled among aspen and pine trees overlooking the Fraser Valley, continental divide and the Winter Park ski slopes. Beautifully finished interior with a European contemporary design gives a cozy feeling you can only experience in a modern A-Frame cabin. The cabin was completely remodeled in 2009 using low VOC paint, LEED certified cabinetry, hydronic heat, wood floors from sustainable forests and on-demand hot water to name a few.
The cabin offers approximately 900 square feet of living space -- one bedroom with a queen bed, a large loft with a queen bed, one bathroom and a full kitchen. Maximum occupancy is 4 people.
Though we love pets, this is a no pets and no smoking cabin. Your security deposit will be automatically forfeited if these guidlines are not followed.
Located in Winter Park Highlands just outside Tabernash only 15 minutes to Winter Park and 10 minutes to Sol Vista and Granby.

We were totally enchanted by this A-Frame. Compact and super efficient, close to great hiking and with a gorgeous view of the mountains from the deck. We made sure to be back in time to relax on the deck with wine and watch the sunset every night. Owner was a delight to work with and obviously loves his retreat and loves sharing it. Great combination of a very private view of the mountains, with neighbors close enough for comfort. Highly recommend!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

Your A-frame cabin is a modern, mountain dream. My wife and our 2 kids absolutely loved it! The interior's modern style, from the kitchen to the tasteful touches throughout, is beautiful, functional and inspiring. And the view is spectacular...one cannot do better. About the owner: As a Colorado native, I have always loved the Colorado mountains and the recreation they provide. Winter Park and the Fraser Valley offer first-class amenities and are far enough away from the I-70 highway corridor to offer a truly peaceful vacation. We enjoy skiing, mountain biking, fishing and hiking. My background is in natural resource conservation and I have always appreciated the eco-friendly amenities. We certainly hope you will too.
Why the Owner Chose Tabernash:
The Winter Park Highlands development is one of the first in the valley. The area lends itself to a quiet and convenient retreat. Most of the homes sit on 2-3 acre parcels and overlook the entire Fraser Valley. The home is located on a dead-end street which further enhances its mountain cabin solitude. The home is situated between Winter Park/Mary Jane ski area and Sol Vista ski Area. There are two X/C ski areas close by.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
The combination of solitude and convenience is beautiful. The skiing, hiking, biking and nature viewing all come together in the Fraser Valley. If you're lucky you might even see the moose grazing in the willows outside of Tabernash on the way up to the cabin. You can also feel good about the small carbon footprint you'll leave behind after your stay. The home was built in 1970 by the original owner/architect and completely remodeled in 2009 with environmentally friendly materials and techniques. Everything from low VOC paint to on-demand hot water that has no standing pilot make this cabin feel at home in its surroundings.
