My family and I recently stayed in your lovely home for a week. I am on here looking at the clendar to see when we can come again in the summer and just read some of the reviews. Even though this is not my personal home, I feel a little offended by "Maddog's" review because it FELT like my home while we were there. I just have to say everything was absolutely perfect and was exactly as it is described. All of the furniture was very nice and clean, the beds were so very comfortable and adorable, the porch was perfect for relaxing, the kitchen is fully stocked....I could go on and on! Obviously, my family and I loved this house and highly recommend it to anyone! Thanks for everything Beth! - Cheryl
Owner response:Dear Cheryl, Thaks so much for your review. I'm glad you enjoyed the house. I hope I can help in the future when you are planning your next Wild Dunes vacation! Beth

We just got back from a week at this darling house. Everything about it was just as described - great location (5 min walk to beach) and pool across the street. The porch was wonderful and interior clean and very nicely furnished. Kitchen had everything we needed and basically exactly what we were expecting. We will be renting again next year as the whole family decided we woudl adopt this cottage as our yearly summer get away. PS. Loved the fact that we were allowed to bring our "four legged kid" with us to such a well appointed home.

The Good and the Bad

First the good. Location is great. Easy walk with your stuff to the beach and the resort is great. View of nature and golf course from back porch is great. Bedding as noted is very comfortable. Kitchen is well equipped w/ nice appliances. Washer/Dryer are also new. Responsiveness to problems with unit was good. Overall the condo is sore need of a facelift. Furnishings are run down. Bathrooms are small and dated. Grill was nasty and ignitor doesn't work. Electronics dated flat panel tv in one bedroom. Porch is in need of new carpet and furniture. The garage area under the house is a mess. Pictures on web page don't tell the whole story. We would not stay in condo again unless substantial updating was done.
Owner response:Quite frankly, I am shocked that anyone would consider the furnishings run down. The sofa and chairs are top quality and not very old. Chairs are EJ Victor and sofa is a down wrapped Lee Industries. This is far superior to 90% of beach house rentals and certainly 100% on par with the top 10%. The only TV that is not flat screen is in the living room but it is a large enough TV for the area and I really have no intention of mounting the TV above the fireplace (which would be the only place for a larger TV) I know what I am talking about because I am an Interior Designer. At the time, there were three old pices of wicker on the porch (all currently replaced) and all covered in sunbrella fabric - just as pictured.. Cottage is 100% as pictured on the internet. if the grill was not working, then the guest should have called the local number (they even mentioned that response was very timely)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cottage in 1/2008. It certainly helped that the weather was gorgeous the entire week. The location is excellent as it's an easy walk to the Harbor golf course, swimming pool, deli, bike rental and beach. An abundance of walking trails are available for you and your "four legged kid"! The cottage is decorated beautifully, the kitchen is adequately stocked with cooking utensils. The screened porch is fantastic....very large, with tables and chairs overlooking a lagoon. I didn't see what the big deal was about the "300 thread sheets" until I slept on them...they are really, really nice! The cottage was undergoing an interior painting just prior to our arrival. It looks very nice. To correct one part of the owners description, the cottage actually overlooks the putting green and the 18th green (not the first hole) which was better. If you like golf, Wild Dunes and this cottage is within 15 miles of about 6 courses off the island. The Wild Dunes courses are very nice and convenient but a little pricey in my opinion. My only constructive criticism for this cottage is that there were numerous burned out and missing light bulbs and both propane tanks for the gas grill were empty. We got the tank filled but I feel the management should check before each rental to ensure there is at least a partial tank available for the renters. I consider the missing light bulbs a safety issue. Regardless, there's a high probability we'll return as the location, pet friendliness and convenience to the numerous golf courses is a priority to us.

Hi, Beth-Just returned from a wonderful family vacation at your cottage in Wild Dunes. We all had the best week! It was our first visit to Isle of P and we definitely plan to return. We all loved the house--it was the most comfortable rental we've ever stayed in. It had everything we needed. The kitchen was very well equipped and there were more than enough towels. The beds were so comfortable. We all loved the screened porch. My kids enjoyed the proximity of the community pool (right across the street) and the easy walk to the beach was great for walking our puppy Max every day! We didn't get to see any alligators this year, maybe next year! Thanks again for sharing your lovely home with us. We hope to return next year for two weeks!

We had such a great time staying in your lovely home. Even though the weather was a little brisk, we still enjoyed sitting on your porch (wrapped up in your blankets!) watching all the wildlife around the lagoon. On our last day, we finally got to see the alegator you told us about. Thank you for your tips you sent - we really enjoyed The Boat House on Shem creek. We will plan on calling you again for a summer rental. Next time, we'll start our planning a little earlier! Robin, Blake, Jake, and Sammy
