Boulder house description
Sunny, quiet, established neighborhood that's extremely close to open space trails (running, biking, hiking, dog walking), the East Boulder Recreation Center (punch passes or single use passes available - indoor pool, weights, other walk-in classes like yoga, volleyball, etc) and all bus routes. All within walking distance. The South Boulder Creek is also within walking distance and there are miles of trails along it leading to downtown Boulder and also south to Marshall and El Dorado Canyon.
Located less than 1/2 mile from Route 36 (Boulder Turnpike) to take you to Denver or Estes Park. Northwest Parkway - which is the quickest way to DIA from here - is only about a 5 minute drive via the Boulder Turnpike.
The neighborhood is surrounded by open space, has community pool/hot tub and tennis courts for guests to use (1 block from house). There is also a basketball court, large playground on about a 2 acre community space at one end of the neighborhood - this also borders the South Boulder Creek. There are also miles of running/biking/hiking trails (South Boulder Creek trail system) right out the front door.
Situated on cul-de-sac with driveway for 2 cars and additional parking in middle of cul-de-sac (for approx 6 cars). Walking distance to newly renovated dog parks(!) which adjoins man made lake for pups to play in ... and recreation/senior center is just beyond the dog parks and outdoor raquetball/tennis courts.
The local bus routes stop along South Boulder Rd. - 2 blocks from house. Major park-n-ride on Table Mesa Rd. is about 1/4 mile from house and buses from here will take you anywhere RTD goes - DIA, Rockies games, Federal Center, etc.
Downtown Pearl Street mall and the Justice Center are approximately 5 miles from the house - easily reached by bus, car or bike (via trail system)! NCAR and the Chatauqua Dining Hall and historic area including the Ranger Station and tens of miles of hiking/running trails that lead up to the famed FlatIrons are about 4 miles from the property. Downtown Louisville, to the east, is about 6 miles.
We're very conveniently located in Southeast Boulder which easily gets you to downtown Denver in about 25 minutes - if you take this same trip from North Boulder it will take you about another 20 minutes.
Very clean with hardwood and tile floors on main floor - this level includes separate formal Dining room, galley kitchen with updated appliances (gas range), 1/2 bath, living room and deck leading to backyard. Carpeting on 2nd level where the 2 master suites with ensuite baths are located, both with walk-in closets. Garden basement (very light) has storage space and washer and dryer for your use.
Backyard has waterfall feature (seasonal), extensive flagstone patio/walkway; planting beds and private sauna (dry or steam) for guest use. The sauna house is situated outside about a 20' walk from the back deck.
A great place to come and stay while visiting your special student at CU - no more than 2 miles to campus from here - take in a Buffs game, or just come and enjoy all that Boulder has to offer. Estes Park is about 45 minutes away and Lyons (home of many festivals throughout the summer and fall) is within 30 minutes.
Tastefully decorated with original artwork and many details you won't find in other homes - all paper products, all condiments, all shampoo/conditioner provided. TV and DVD players in living room and one of the bedrooms. Leather furniture and aspen coffee table in living room, and all teak dining room - seats 6.
Close enough to open space to hear the crickets at night and the peacocks in the neighborhood settling in for the evening. A very unique experience but still in the city of Boulder.

The house was fair, a little dark, perhaps the owner should trim some of the trees around the house to give more light. The bed in the gutsy room was terrible, every time you moved the mattress squeezed, didn't get muchs rest. Not sure who cleans the house but it was not very clean, there were toys,and food under the couch, don't think we would stay thre again.

Owner response: As owners of this property and getting many positive feedback results in the past - I was very disappointed that our guests did not enjoy their stay at our property. We wish they had expressed their concerns to us while they were staying at the property but we first found out about their disappointing experience when they posted these complaints. We have intentionally left the trees in place in our backyard (trimmed to head height) to provide additional shade as we get temps in the high 90s to 100s consistently throughout the summer and most windows are South facing - a great amount of heat is allowed into the house and, in an attempt to use less energy (A/C), the added shade really lowers the temps inside the house. The trees, along with the waterfall in the back yard, really make this more of an oasis than just a typical backyard. I'm extremely surprised at the comments re: cleaning as I go to check the house (personally) before every guest arrives - this family, along with the family that stayed prior to their arrival, had pets at the property with them. I did find one dog toy when I got there after their departure and not sure who brought it - but someone (canine) evidently left it and some dog food kibble underneath the sofa next to where where the dog food bowls were placed. I have to admit that I don't check under the furniture every time I go there - but from now on I will! I'm very sorry that their experience was not up to par with our own standards. Often when the home is not rented, we stay there ourselves and love it! We have been renting this home since 2010 and never received any complaints such as this one - we pride ourselves on maintaining a quality property and doing everything possible to ensure our guests have an enjoyable stay.

About the owner: Active outdoor person with the mountains outside my door. Beautiful scenery, open space trails and Recreation/Senior Center all within a short walking distance. Great location to be close to your kids at CU, take in a game, or head to Pearl Street for stroll down the mall.
