Just 3 km from the centre, through lanes of vineyards and olive groves, you will reach Pergo, a beautiful small hamlet and here you will find enchanting appartamento Lorena. Perfectly situated with major sightseeing places as Lake Trasimeno 20 km, Montepulciano 35 km, Arezzo 35 km, Pienza 50 km, Siena 75 km, with Asissi, Gubbio, Spoleto, Todi and Orvieto all being within 1 hour, Florence 1.5 hours and Rome 2 hours away
Apartment Lorena is one of six apartments in a wonderful old casa padronale country house, totally restored within 2 years. The quality of the restoration of the building is to the highest standard, using authentic materials in keeping with its age and character and the minutest detail has not gone unchecked.
The apartment is pristine, spacious and full of light on a split level. The accommodation sleeps 4, with two double bedrooms with lovely views of cypress trees, gentle hills, and Tuscan mellow stone houses dotted here and there. On entering the apartment through a beautiful carved door, you will find a lovely open reception area which, separated by a wide arch. leads into the lounge and comprises luxurious sofa, dining table/chairs and a lovely welsh dresser. The fully fitted kitchen is open plan and leads from the lounge, separated by a breakfast bar. The kitchen includes gas hob/oven and fridge/freezer/washing machine. All appliances are brand new.
Leading from the reception area with one step directs you to the bedrooms which are fully furnished, airy and bright and very romantic. The bathroom consists bidet, sink, toilet and shower - again brand new. The apartment comes complete with central heating, fly screens/shutters inside and outside and a communal outside area, with table/chairs where you can enjoy a glass of Chianti and watch the sunset.
The apartment is located 10 minutes drive to the main autostrada Roma-Firenze and railway station at Camucia, only 10 minutes away for direct connection to Florence. There is a grocery store (DE Spar) 2 minutes drive away from the apartment. Nearest airports: Perugia 40 minutes, Florence 1.5 hrs and Rome 2 hours.

Why the Owner Chose Cortona
After many many trips to Italy for holidays, we decided it was time to buy "our place" and get a slice of the Dolce Vita ourselves. We loved Tuscany and Umbria and thought this the best place to search. We knew about Cortona, made famous by the film "Under the Tuscan Sun", so when the opportunity of a property became available, we immediately fell in love, it's hard not too! We were advised, remember "location, location, location" We did, and we feel we found it. An apartment inside a beautifully restored old country house just below Cortona, amidst sunflowers, olive groves and vineyards with easy access to the main autostrada, 5 min drive, and centrally placed for all major sightseeing places. Eureka! .
The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
The location is fantastic, best of both worlds, the tranquility of the beautiful Tuscan countryside amidst olive groves and vineyards with Cortona majestically sitting on the hill above, with all its 12th century charm, architecture, events, wonderful restaurants, variety of shops and very welcoming and friendly people. It is a perfect mix for a memorable and most pleasurable holiday. Only 3 km into centre of Cortona, 5 minutes drive to the main autostrada linking to Florence, all major sightsee places within 40 minutes in both Tuscany and Umbria, Montepulciano, famous for its Vino Noble, Assisi, mystical Lake Trasimeno (Italians' favourite lake), you can take a boat to reach the main island, famous for its lace making, also lake activities (windsurfing). golf course only 20 km away, thermal spa baths 35 km and horseback riding 5 km.

We feel we are now very much "Cortonesi", in this short time, thanks to the very welcoming and friendly people.
