Accommodations: Villa, 4 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 3 Baths (Sleeps 8-9)
Keywords: Villa
Casa Bianca is part of a wine and olive oil estate (see Casa Bosco Listing Number 132479) which has just been lovingly restored and refurbished by its owners. Casa Bianca now offers 4 double bedrooms, three bathrooms, a large sitting room with a sofa bed, entrance hall with a log fire (olive logs provided) making 180 square meters and sleeping max 10 people. Casa Bianca's cool and light internal space is set like a jewel in gentle Olive Groves with our vineyards below the house, and vegetable gardens and fruit trees all around, with jasmine, mimosa, roses and masses of wild flowers all in their season.
Separate fully fitted kitchen and dining area - all downstairs rooms opening through French doors onto terraces and gardens. Three double bedrooms upstairs (2 opening onto large terrace with wonderful views of ancient olive groves and the little Church on the hill) Two bathrooms upstairs (1 with shower and 1 with bathtub). Downstairs bedroom opening onto garden, and shower bathroom.
Off the fully modernized kitchen is a terrace for al fresco dining under a weeping willow tree and in front of the house a vine covered pergola where you can admire the sunny and shady spots in this tranquil old olive grove and the pine and chestnut woods (we will give you FREE some of our wine and oil) to help you unwind after a long day at the beach or walking the Cinque Terre or shopping in Chiavari Market for antiques or the superb local specialty food shops.
Casa Bianca is only 3 kms from the centre of Chiavari which is a beautiful old Ligurian City with excellent bars and restaurants in every square and arcaded street. A footpath will take you down to the center in 15 minutes where you will find the Cathedral and several old churches and villas and the train station.
Take a train to the Cinque Terre and walk back along the world famous trail set above the sparkling blue sea, passing through the ancient vineyards on the precipitous walled terraces. Stop for a swim or a leisurely lunch and enjoy the local wines. In the middle of Tigullio Bay which stretches from Portofino to Sestri Levante, Chiavari is perfectly placed for making trips to Portofino with its exquisite little yacht harbour where you can join the beautiful people in a bar for a Bellini cocktail or sit on the sea wall with an ice and watch the world go by.
Also near is Santa Margherita, a very smart resort with famous fish market and yacht marina, Rapallo a quaint old seaside town, and Zoagli where the sea laps the town square and time stands still. Sestri Levante is 5 kms the other way, an elegant old village on the sea with the romantic sandy Bay of Silence one side and the long promenade on the Bay of Tigullio on the other. Or stay in Chiavari and walk along the wood boardwalk with its gardens and fountains and safe and clean gravel and rock beaches where the children can swim, admire the marina, or sit in a seaside bar and watch the sun set behind Portofino mountain.
Genoa is 40 kms west where you can explore the world famous Aquarium, the ancient noble palaces and art galleries, visit the theatre and shops. Florence and Pisa and Lucca are a few hours away by car and can be explored in a day trip from Chiavari.
There is so much to do and see that a week here is not enough but you can do what many of our guests do - come back again!

From the moment you awake to the sounds of roosters crowing and birds chirping, until you finish your evening sitting in the yard, or by the fireplace you will love this villa. When we first arrived, greeted by the courteous and gracious host as we walked from the entry gate to the front door I felt as though I was arriving home after a long absense. We arrived at the villa by cab from the train station and I felt a bit daunted by the climb we would have from town if we chose to walk. But it was not as difficult as I imagined and was a charming and relaxing way to end our days of exploring the Ligurian coast. It was also a great way to walk off the exquisite focaccia bread that you really must enjoy every afternoon, as it comes out fresh in every bakery. A special treat on the walk back to the villa was to reach the castle tower as the church bells rang, and we could view the sun beginning to set in the sea. The owners of the villa have really put a lot of effort into making this home as comfortable as possible. Arriving to find a basket of wine, olive oil and balsamic vinegar, all made by the property owners made us feel as though we were welcomed by family. You will not be disappointed if you choose to stay at this property! I will never forget our stay at Casa Bianca.
