Hale Poloka is the Toad Hall (Wind in the Willows) of the Pacific with a private fenced backyard, located on a quiet cul-de-sac in Bayview/Poipu Kai Resorts, next to the Grand Hyatt. This wonderful three bedroom island home offers privacy, lush gardens, and a private Jacuzzi spa. Sliding 4 panel glass doors open out onto the slated patio for romantic dining, sunbathing and spa while listening to the soothing sound of a waterfall. Tropical design and Asian decor imported directly from Bali and China succeed in creating a restful and comfortable retreat for guests within the prestigious Poipu Kai Resort. Guests enjoy all the amenities of the Poipu Kai Resort including nine tennis courts available for a reduced rate, a gated swimming pool and spa near the Poipu Beach Broiler, and 24 hour security on site.
A 2 minute walk to the Anara Spa and Grand Hyatt for shopping, dining and golf. 300 yards to Shipwreck Beach, a great beach for experienced swimmers and surfers (where we were married by a local Kahuna), it also offers hours of delightful sunbathing and beach combing for all ages. A short walk down the greenbelt to the west will bring you to Brennecke's Beach, famous for body surfing and Poipu Beach, perfect for swimming, (with a separate lagoon for your children), snorkeling, surfing and beach parties.

'Very roomy, yet enough space for everyone and their stuff. The backyard was a great place to wind down and the hot tub was a great relaxer along with the waterfall. The walking distance to a few great beaches was awesome!'

'The house was clean, beautifully decorated and the kitchen was complete with everything we needed. After a busy day of activities we enjoyed coming home & having cocktails outside at our frog pond & waterfall. We loved the location which was near golf, the beach & the Hyatt Hotel.'

'Your home is so beautiful. We have stayed in several homes and condos, what a treat to stay in such a lovely one with 'real' furniture. We truly felt in the lap of luxury. The decor is just beautiful and we can really see how much you put into it, especially the kitchen with all the goodies. Your home is perfect, we love it!'

'We enjoyed your home. We come to Kauai almost every year for the past 25 years and this is the nicest place we've stayed in. It was great to have such a well equipped kitchen. We loved the great backyard and begin close to the Hyatt. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home'.

'Your home is as beautiful as the Island it is on. The gardens are magical, the warm winds and the gentle sounds of the waterfall make it a fantasy come true!'

Little piece of Kauai Heaven! Couldn't ask for more, peaceful & calming . We had 6 adults & the home is very spacious. Our only surprise was the shared bathroom but it all worked out fine. We enjoyed walking to the beach in the mornings with our coffee to watch the sun rise & watch the turtles :) The owners are very accommodating. Mahalo Lynn & Ralph. We hope to return to Hale Poloka :)Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband and I with 2 kids stayed at this amazing residence in Kauai. We had an incredible time. We loved hearing the cane toads serenading us at night. Plus, after sightseeing all day or being at the beach, it was nice to slip into the hot tub. The property was very clean and definitely exceeded our expectations. We loved the fact that the Hyatt was within walking distance. The Poipu section of Kauai has great beaches for the kids and close to the airport as well.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We just returned from a wonderful 9 day/8night stay at the lovely Hale Poloka. The house was even better than the pictures online! Big, open concept living/kitchen/dining, the backyard was super private and lush with trees and plants. Loved the sliding wall off the living room and patio doors of the master bedroom. Our family of 5 was more than comfortable here! Really appreciated the personal touches of wine, coffee and tea as well as the few necessities found through out the house such as shampoo/soap and the basket of "in case you forgots". We were happy to leave behind a few items as well for the next guests. Beach chairs were a welcome surprise, as were the coolers - truly everything you could need was there. The beds were comfortable, some pillows are due to be replaced and some of the appliances are getting a bit "tired", but still all worked perfectly and for what we needed. Everything in the home is of quality - like the commercial grade blender that I absolutely loved! The house was a 4 minute walk to the ocean, but a bit far to lug the kids and all our gear, so we mostly drove to the beach when going for the day. Enjoyed the walk to the ocean on many other occasions, however, to watch a sunrise at the Hyatt/Shipwreck beach, and take the path further East to the sacred fishing spot where we watch turtles playing in the waves for hours! Poipu is a fantastic place and Hale Poloka is very well located and close to everything. Lynn was great to deal with and left a binder with recommendations for restaurants and snorkeling (a few of which we tried and were great) as well as a bulletin board full of various brochures and services in the area. All in all, we highly recommend this place and can't wait to return again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Our family of six adults just returned from a two week vacation in Kauai and staying at Hale Poloka in Poipu Kai was a wonderful experience. The home has amazing size, comfort, amenities, and privacy just like the web page identifies. Loved the private back yard and spent a lot of evenings out there. After driving the whole island we realized this was in fact the best place to stay! Communication with the owners from start to finish was very easy and helpful. Lots of lovely walking paths in Poipu Kai and an easy to drive to most anywhere on the island. The Beach House restaurant was favorite elegant dining, Brennecke's Beach Broiler was favorite pub both with ocean views. We would return to Kauai and stay here again for sure. Thanks Lynn & Ralph!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Lynn, we enjoyed our stay immensely!! The house was beautiful. The photos of the house looked great online, but a photo can't do justice to how beautiful the house is once you walk in the door! The house is decorated beautifully! Very peaceful and tranquil. The backyard landscaping is amazing and provides great privacy. Then, just a very short walk down to the beach and/or over to the Hyatt and it's amenities. Very nice! Very happy with our stay. Would highly recommend! Thanks so much. About the owner: We first visited Kauai in the early 90s and kept coming back. We wanted a home for our family that allowed us to swim in the ocean all year round and without much preparation - just a towel in hand. In the afternoons, we enjoy hanging in our secluded backyard listening to the waterfall, slipping into the hot spa, reading and sipping cool drinks before BBQing ahi and mahi mahi or steaks on the grill. In the mornings, we like to get up early and walk down to Shipwreck's Beach to watch the sunrise and the amazing wildlife including sea turtles, spinner dolphins and the humpback whales that are ever present from late November through early May - a short climb up the limestone ridge just past the Hyatt affords the best views on the island.
