PineTops offers all of the amenities of home - it is decorated to the tee - comfortable furnishings with cozy quilts and televisions in each of the 3 bedrooms. Each bedroom even has a sleep machine!
The cabin is situated in a garden setting planted by the present owners. It offers a lighted outdoor firepit and garden lighting that comes on automatically each night. Enjoy the large, fully decorated screened-in-porch that doubles the living space of the cabin. Original art work adorns the walls making it seem even more like home. The quiet, wooded setting of PineTops is on the Cashiers, NC side of Highlands making it convenient to that lovely mountain village, as well.
Enjoy this charming mountain cabin with adorable red trim and you'll never want to leave! If you're lucky enough to be at PineTops during a snowfall, there is perfect sledding right in front of the cabin! Then you can enjoy a cup of hot chocolate beside a roaring fire with firewood that is included with your rental. PineTops is the perfect location for a get away vacation.

Year Purchased: 2003
I am 60 years old and live permanently in Columbus, GA. I love the Highlands area and our adorable cabin that we call PineTops. I am an avid gardener and have planted the garden at our cabin complete with stone walls and raised beds. There is even a children's garden. I am active while in Highlands, playing tennis, golf, bridge as well as my gardening activities. We want to rent PineTops as we are not able to stay at the cabin as much as we would like.
Why the Owner Chose Highlands
This property was only four miles from the mountain village of Highlands, NC and offered all the things that we wanted in a mountain getaway. We have redone the cabin by painting it inside and out, adding a large screened-in-porch, a 3rd bathroom and creating a garden. As well as being close to downtown, it is also convenient to the adjacent village of Cashiers, NC.
The Unique Benefits of this Cabin
We mostly enjoy the charm of our cabin. It is big enough to afford enough room for friends and family and a GREAT home for entertaining without sacrificing the small cabin feel of this "tree house" in a quiet wooded setting. The screened-in-porch is a wonderful addition - with separate seating and dining areas. It is easily accessible with no entrance steps to climb, plenty of convenient parking at the door, and the private master bedroom is the only room upstairs. The bedrooms are all custom decorated to include lovely bedding and well appointed adjoining bathrooms. There are plenty of walking or hiking areas right outside of the cabin door, no busy highway noise, and a great fireplace to warm up a chilly mountain evening. The amenities of the Skyline Lodge are available during the season - May - October.
